Best Uniforms?

Some schools have good looking uniforms and others bad. I personally love our uniforms, home is great but our away(all white) is best. To start off I'll rank District 6-5A uniform wise.

Home

1. Bell(White pants are better with the blue jersey than the blue pants we had last year)
2. Grand Prairie
3. Irving
4. Trinity
5. Irving MacArthur(Last years would have been #2 but they had to change)
6. Irving Nimitz
7. Coppell(Pick a color will you)
8. SGP(Just a poor combination of colors)

Away

I don't think SLC's black pants uniforms are intimidating at all but they are definitely good looking and are more striking than their regular season unis(in my humble opinion).

I like Katy's away unis better than home. Kinda looks like Nebraka. I like the red pants better than the red shirts.

Judson has good looking unis.

North Shore's looks good too except for that pony on the helmet. It looks too much like Katy's district rival Taylor. It would look great if North Shore put just the pony's head on their helmet like the Denver Broncos.

SLC only wear the black pants once the Playoffs begin. It does not matter what has happened in the first ten games of the season, it matters only what happens in the last 6!

The pants themselfes are not intimidating it is what they represent. The begining of the march to the Championship!

I've always liked the Lobo with his tongue hanging out and the green "L" helmets. I have to like anything with an "L" on it. I always thought Laverne and Shirley were cool with a letter on their clothes.

that's what they normally are but for some reason the school has opted for a hideous orange and white look. It's awful and probably part of why they don't win much. I'm a firm believer that you need to feel good about yourself to win and there's no way they can feel confident with those uniforms!

The two best looking in the state, in my opinion, are Highland Park and Stephenville. Midland Lee used to have one of the best home unis, but they really screwed it up by going with these new, all maroon, arena league looking unis.

Haha, they finally have one color, the red uniform with black pants, they change every year or so...last year our newest home uniform was the red tops with black bottoms, but we ended up wearing our black shirts with red bottoms for half the season because we won a game in them lol. they only have one away uniform, white with a red stripe down the side...I liked the all black look, but every time we wear all black we lose 1-5 (Burlison, Denton Ryan x2, slc x2 and our only win was against sgp in the play-offs)

I just have one request for all the teams in the state. STOP APING THE DENVER BRONCOS UNI STRIPES!!!!

First of all, it was ugly to begin with. Stripes belong on the shoulders or sleeves, not down the side. Secondly, every other school is doing it too. I have to say, Nike is hands down creating the fugliest uni's in sports history at this point. Have ya'll seen Oregon's? How about the University of Miami?

Also, all the NFL teams sporting new duds took a huge step back. The Bengals, Cardinals, Falcons... its all just a mess of stripes in too many places.

I like things to stay simple. Odessa Permian has good football unis.So does Abilene High.

As for color combos, a primary color with black or white looks best. Dark Blue and White or Red and White are my favorites. A primary and another primary is second best-- Blue and Red, Blue and Yellow. A Black or White and a secondary can work if done right . Stay away from secondary and secondary or secondary and primary-- Orange and Green, Purple and Orange, Yellow and Green, Blue and Orange. When you get right down to it, just stay away from Orange. Its ugly. And different shades should always be paired with white-- maroon and white, baby blue and white, crimson and white, sea green and white. And always go for dark-light combos. White and yellow or Black and purple just don't go well.

Some of my favorites:
Eisenhower - THE most intimidating uni's I've ever seen. If you could have seen those guys come down the Rice Stadium tunnel in '97 wearing those all black uni's, you would understand.
Clear Lake - their home uniforms might be the coolest in the state
North Shore - I love the red and black combo
Southlake Carroll - Black Pants, Green Tops, White Helmet...very cool
Irving Mac - those uni's they wore against DR last year were sweet; black on black with the white helmets
Copperas Cove - I like the all blue look
Lufkin - they actually make purple look cool
Tyler Lee - Those all red uni's are awesome
Katy - yeah, yeah homer pick, but the red tops with white pants are cool...a classic look and an original logo

The mustang on the helmet at North Shore has been there for almost fifty years. the unis and color schemes have changed but rarely that logo. Theres is another official logo that would probably a lot more intimidatind and that is the front view.

We have kept it basic at Lewisville, plain maroon helmet, a maroon jersey with Famers across it in white and solid maroon pants. Our away jerseys have a solid maroon stripe on the sleeve, but it still looks cool.

Plano and Stephenville have always been my favorite unis. Plano is as basic as they come, solid white helmet, grey facemask, maroon jerseys on maroon pants with a double white stripe for their home unis. and plain white jerseys whit maroon numbers and maroon pants with double white stripes for their away unis, it is old, but classic, and I think it looks good

As JTK stated, stephenville is classi, navy and gold is sharp, and stephenville looks good

FM Marcus is another one I like, it is the exact same as Ohio State.

Judson is very old schooled. Tradition is more important than new jerseys. But we did get new tight fit white jerseys, and are supposed to be getting new tight fit red jerseys next year.

i kind of like the new lufkin unis but i like the simple ones from 2003 and earlier...the solid purple home with panthers on the front in big letters and in 2001 there was a variation on the regular unis and we added a panther logo on the shoulder and the players names on the back during the playoffs

I think Plano uniforms are the worst, but I'm sure you traditionalist probably love them. The white helmets with the original gray face masks are real old school!

Dallas Carter used to keep nice uniforms but since Wilson has brought the new mind set, they play in the plain practice jerseys in non-district, and change to the regulars in district, and then the "Red Storm" jerseys in the playoffs, but they just look like the practice jerseys with 8 extra letters.

As long as they keep winning, they can play in the non-district uniforms all year!!!

There is an urban legend that talks of a school that wanted to downplay the role of sports to its students. The regents changed the team mascot to the "Fighting Artichokes" in hope that atheletes would not want to play for the Artichokes! That sort of backfired when it became almost a cult to play for the Artichokes so the regents changed the school colors to pink and white. Somehow the Pink and white fighting artichokes lost all appeal and the sport programs died and were dropped!

Yeah, but I like our new logo. They wanted to change and get away from the color black, which was abused greatly over the past 2 seasons by our players and coaching staff. Our new staff does not tolerate any black, because they don't think its right to wear the color of your rival, which I agree with. I think our new logo is great, I guess it looks like a bunny but its really a B with a raider behind it with a sword in his hand and shield which overlaps the top of the B. Go to ldbellfootball.org to see it and its also on the scoreboard at Pennington. It looks way better than the white, black, blue, red, pink, peach, gray, and brown Texas logo we had last season.

Bell's logo last year was COOL. along the same as SLC but was hand drawn by a mom. the colors you wrote about were the flesh tones on the horse. the star telegram covered the logo last year. also was eght foot tall on wall by door. Can be found on the run thru helmet........new coaches...new logs but last year's was pretty awesome to have been hand drawn. don't care for the "bunny on the roc"

I am not 100% sure, but I believe Judson has had that uniform style since 1977. In Jr. High I attended games and the uniforms look like they do now. I remember watching Anthony Hutchinson run all over their opponents. He was the first of many great backs that Judson has had. Back to the uniforms, word is that they have not changed anything because they have not had a losing season since they adopted that style uniform along with the diamond J on the helmet.

I mean sirously, I remember my favriot thing was during the scrimmages and just beating the living tar out of *thinks back* i dont remember who but they sucked, and being in our practice, or in middle school having to ware the same pants for practice and the game...

Well, in the 80's San Fran did a whole lot more winning than the Redskins, hence the team of the 80's is the 49er's. But the Redskins were no joke in the 80's....playing in 3 Super Bowls and winning 2 of them.

Just think about this Redskins88...from 87' to 96' the NFC East was as dominate a division than any other division in the history of the NFL. (In regards to a 10 year period.)

From 87' to 96'.....
Washington won 2 super bowls.
Giants won 2 super bowls.
Cowboys won 3 super bowls.

And the Eagles, led by Reggie White and Randle Cunningham were always there in the shadows, waiting.

I think any white on white uniforms look very good. Our new Uniforms (we got them last year) have one of the better white on white uniforms IMO. I dont like our home jerseys with the blue jerseys and the white pants, but i like the white pants and the white jerseys with our away gear.

I think A&M Consolidated has some of the absolute worst looking uniforms I have ever seen..they are not even maroon..they are purple and the black numbers on the maroon (purple) tops are ridiculous! There is just not much color to those uniforms with the black shoes, maroon socks, maroon pants, maroon tops and maroon helmets and facemasks..ugh!!!
I'm an old school ACM Tiger and I loved the uniforms they had when Ross Rogers was the head coach...home uni's were white cleats, white socks, MAROON leggins, grey pants, MAROON tops, grey helmet with maroon facemack! Those were sharp...and had a classic look to them! I miss 'em.

Honorable mentions include Denton Ryan, Dallas Carter, and Richland.

While I love Bowie High, I HATE our logo, and as an Aggie and Red Raider's brother, I am not keen on the switch to burnt orange. But since they made the switch they started winning.... so goes it :)

I did think of those Aggies whem I posted the Alice pic. :D Alice has always been burnt orange. They wear solid orange jerseys for home games. Old colors did not have the sheen to 'em, though. The current helmet logo is actually a combination of two previous designs.
