This is who is considered (Rivals.com) the best RB in the Nation... out of Ventura St. Bonaventure (CA)...

http://media.scout.com/media/image/39/392834.jpg
Darrell Scott
6'0 210 lbs
40: 4.4

(Highlights)

Here's a small interview with the kid...

(Listen carefully to how "relocation" works!)

So, my question is... from what you've seen, is he the best RB in the Nation?

Better than...

Sam McGuffie?

Aundre Dean?

Tre Newton?

Jermie Calhoun?

Justin Johnson?

...or anyone else you can think of?

From what I have seen he definitely deserves a high rating but it's difficult to choose a #1.

NEVER WILL I EVER GIVE ANY CREDIT TO SOME WEST COAST GOOF BALL!!!
US southern fried people need to stick together...

P.S. If you take the best highlights of sam mcguffie or cole from cedar hill or any other good running back from around here it looks like this...what inda tricks are they tryin to pull?? I'd put that 6'0 215 westy up against that mama jama from Trinity ANY DAY OF THE WEEK AND TWICE ON SUNDAY!!!

Ehh it's your opinion, but all I know is that we just had a Kid transfer from California and he decided to move here after he saw one Katy game.

I think he's possibly the #1 in the nation. He's interested in Texas too. Him and Terrell Pryor sure would make a nice tandem. :o

I'm proud of Texas football too. I'm proud of Texas in general.

But, if Scott were to offer McGuffie the chance to carry around Scott's towels and equipment, Sam should consider himself lucky. He's not in the same league as Scott.

I just wish they'd get the TV on the right channel( Old school humor, think dials and VHF)

The dude had some freaky explosion through the gaps, that's for sure. Looked like he had great balance too. Lots of players still got to him in the secondary, so I severely question the "4.32" speed, but he definately has the burst through the holes. didn't see much shake-and -bake either, could be a good thing, as a lot of talented RBs fall in love with their moves.

The kid looks good & deserves to be ranked with the best. As far as being the best rb recruit in the nation goes, who's to say? More than any other position in football, running backs are unpredictable. There is no mold or guaranteed indicator that a kid is "The One". We have some measurables we take and we trust in what our eyes tell us. That's about it.

If Scott were to make that offer I'm not sure his nose would be in one piece. On what do you base McGuffie not being in the same league, an inch & 15 lbs? Are you serious? Let these two get to college & suit up before you make blanket statements like that.

Let's see him up against a real D, and we know Sam plays against Texas' defenses.

You're the same person who implied that McGuffie would be lucky to be a 3rd down back at Baylor. I believe the words "not a Big 12 back" were uttered repeatedly.

He's got a lot of power and acceleration. The way he runs reminds me of Tony Dorsett quite a bit but with a little less forward lean. The video was a little short so there wasn't much to see in the way of his cutting ability like some other backs but he definately has some very good talent in his own right. Definately has the qaulity of a very good back with a lot of speed.

Whether he's better than the others listed,..who's to say. They all have their own way of getting their yardage but some (like McGuffie), make it a little more exciting to watch it happen.

He's talking about Newton's production against Trinity. Carroll got very little from the ground game that day.

 there it is steve. took till 1st post page 2.

I didn't see anything that seperated Scott from the rest here in Texas. I thought Scott looked great but so is Calhoun, Johnson, McGuffe, Dean and Newton. As been stated above, there is so much that goes into ranking a RB and there are so many good ones in Texas and this country it would be difficult to get a range on who truly is the number 1 back.
I do believe you would see Scott making those same type of runs in Texas as you do in California.
