Always strong, good athletes, with a big O-line that can grind on ya...can they hang in the playoffs? We'll see....

gotta have a passing attack, if they can improve on that, they will
do well in the playoffs,,

I think they're just buying time until they get beat in the playoffs. They're not a Top 10 team.

I sort of agree. They are just like Garland;both are one-dimensional teams. They have good ground attacks, but a bad passing one... until both teams drasticly improve their throwing capabilities... early playoff exits are coming...

Dallas Carter, Northshore, Lufkin, etc.. always have great talent. They always have the talent to make a run at it, but they often lack the discipline to beat a well coached team. If you are disciplined in your techniques, play with alot of heart, and eliminate your mistakes, you can beat these teams. Every now and then these schools have so much talent they overcome their lack of discipline and coaching and win one on pure athleticism.

I do not get to impressed early with Carter. This team is known to have great talent but in the end the discipline always does them in and that will happen again this year.

How many kids has Lufkin sent to college in the last 10 years? (D1) Three last year alone. How many state titles have they won? If you truly have one of the top three coaches in the state(ha,ha,ha) Why aren't you winning it more consistently? I know for a fact how hard it is, I have a ring on my finger and got it without a single D1 prospect. So I still say, if you got the talent you should win it, if you don't, then WHY Not???????

Posting for pack0808:

Are you crazy talking about Lufkin that way? You are an idiot. No, you are a tool. No, you are an idiot tool. What school do you support? Some loser that never makes the playoffs. that's what I thought, you loser, idiot, tool.

Who are you talking to Dragonbacker? If you are talking to me, I back the Judson Rockets. Yes, we have made the playoffs. Yes, we have been to the finals 9 times. Yes, we have won 6 rings. I hope you were not talking to me. I have never said a negative thing about SLC. I have much respect for what they have done since moving to 5A. But you must realize that every good offense eventually gets a a defensive scheme to stop it. Just like the wing t, wishbone, multiple I, option, ets... The spread has an answer and it will be solved, but until then enjoy your success. I truly believe Todd Dodge is an innovator at the High School level. He is the Texas Tech of High School. Todd Dodge as a coach he must keep moving forward with his offense, before the defense catches up. Remember SLC does not win just because of the offense or defense they run, the talent of the kids, but because the kids respect and believe in what Dodge is selling them and the discipline :D to implement what he ask.

I'm going to have to respectfully, but strongly disagree with you. The three teams you mentioned are all VERY well coached teams. Wilson, Aymond, and Outlaw are three of the finest coaches in the state and they do, in fact, have a great deal of talent at their disposal. It takes alot more than talent and good coaching to win titles, however. You need a bit of luck, great internal team leadership, and good team chemistry on top of good talent and coaching to go all the way. It is extremely hard to win state, because so many things have to come together at once in order for it to happen. I think it's unfair to go straight to the 'poor coaching' label when you see a talented team unable to reach its potential. There are many, many very talented teams that don't win state each year and not all of them are poorly coached...

Chill bubba!!

I was being sarcastic about pack0808!! He always goes crazy when someone posts even a slight criticism of his Panthers.

You just have to know the Lufkin fan mentality, especially on this board.

If it involves not falling on the floor for the Panthers, the answer is NO!

Lay off my boys up in Lufkin. While my Eagles are growing new tailfeathers I will protect the Panthers back!!

pack0808 and I have had our disagreements but it's because he is such a great fan of football and his Panthers.

Let the doubters doubt Storming Cowboy. I noticed that the team followers who's teams are not doing too hot have an opinion about everybody else's team who is undefeated or playing good ball. Carter will give everyone their respect and there are a few on here that don't give respect back, in which it can be a good thing. I guess i'll have to change my signature below.

Don't Hate.....Just Wait!

Allen Wilson is a great coach and Carter has steadily gotten better under his leadership. Anyone who has ever played against an Allen Wilson coached team knows that he will wear you down with his constant running back rotation. Its not unusual for him to use 10 or 11 different backs in one game. Dallas Carter will be fine.

The comment about Lufkin is just insane. One of the most consistent programs in the state over the last 5 years and you declare that we lack coaching and discipline?

What's the weather like on your planet?
