Dallas Morning News Website:

Irving 38, Grand Prairie 7

GRAND PRAIRIE – Chucky Jones ran for 197 yards and scored four touchdowns as Irving (4-0, 1-0 District 6-5A) sent Grand Prairie (0-4, 0-1) to its 13th consecutive loss.

Irving senior running back Jamaal Evans was one of four players who missed the game after being suspended because of disciplinary reasons, coach Jim Bennett said. Bennett said the players were suspended after a Thursday incident but couldn't elaborate. He said he didn't know if they would be eligible to play Thursday against Hurst L.D. Bell.

I would rather beat Irving with Jamaal Evans playing, but it sure would help us if he misses the game.

I think bell will win, just like last year...that was a huge upset last year for Irving

I still think if we played them on the Friday Night instead of the Saturday Afternoon in Coppell(a 1 hour drive for Irving about), we would have lost. Jamaal Evans had 41 of his 99 yards in the two plays that were played at Pennington until the game was called off.

For us it was ~35 minutes. I'd add on 15-20 for Irving schools.

bhs06 - I don't know the route you took to Coppell but last Friday night I made it to Coppell - during the Friday evening rush traffic - from Euless to the stadium parking lot in 20 minutes. All the Irving schools have to do is go straight north on Belt Line Road which becomes renamed Denton Tap Road in Coppell. It might take them 30 minutes. That's the route I took instead of trying to go 121. From the HEB area we have to go around the airport, the Irving schools have a clear shot start out Belt Line Road.

Yes, we did get lost last year. We missed and exit and wound up at the airport(the first time we went). The second time the weather was bad so it took longer than it should have.

Its alot longer then you think to get to Coppell from Euless, i make the drive about two weeks, it takes me 40 mins to get there going down 121 all the way in the middle of rush hour.

From irving High school it'll take a little bit, they'll take MacArther to 114 to Beltline...its about a 20-30min drive on a bus and a 15-20min in a car

There you go - you don't take 121 all the way in the middle of rush hour traffic. I had to drive to work M-F from south Fort Worth to 635-Luna Road (Carrollton) for 7 years, and before that 17 years to 635-Luna Road from Euless, so I know all the back roads in that whole area.

Good luck when you report for duty next month and God bless! :)
