This one could get ugly. Cove has had a week off to prepare and Height has not looked that good in the early going. 42-7 is my prediction. Heights won't get many scoring opportunities.

Are you kidding? This is the same team that was blown out 37 to nothing a couple of weeks ago. That had to come from behind to beat Killeen. You have to be joking right. This won't be close like I said. If Heights is in the game at the half it will be a miracle.

Heights looked TERRIBLE against Cedar Park. And Cedar Park isnt even at its best this year. I think the score was 28-0 going into half time and 35-0 at the end. Their qb threw about 4 ints and fumbled every other play. They were the sloppiest team i've ever seen that night outside of Stony Point. If their was a mercy rule in high school football, this game would fit the mold IMO.

I'm basing this on what i saw week one against Cedar Park, because they looked nothing short of dreadful. Just my two cents. Can a harker heights fan please explain this game one fiasko to me???

Primetime, in order for HH to keep the Dawgs down to 17 points would mean that your D would have to shut down the Dawg O. Who do you plan to stop? Donald up the middle, or Lamar on the corners, or Brent with the option, or Brent passing to Alphonso or Hawk????? Not likely.
On the other side, the Dawgs contain Shorts the game is done! A series or two to make any adjustments and Shorts will be having Blue shirts on him all night. A one man show may work against Killeen and Stony Point, but not this team. Just look at the one man show from Waco U (QB), he ended up watching the second half of the game from the sidelines.

On another site Cove is picked by 33 points over Heights. That seems about right. All Cove will need to do is contain Heights QB and they will win. Heights QB has accounted for 74% of Heights offense production. I'm predicting Heights will spend another year watching the playoffs from the stands.

You should have lost to that same Killeen team that we shut out and only allowed 35 total yards of offense for the whole game. Height was down to Killeen and had to win on a last second field goad after giving up 400 yards of offense to that 4-A school so get your facts right. 24-0 and it was never in question. You have no defense your offense is a one man show give me a break. Your team is worst than it was last year and it was not that good last year so lets stick to the facts here. Without Short who is not that great he just happens to be the only player you have you don't get past the 50 with him at least you have a chance to cross it. If you would actually have the lead in a game perhaps you would not have to throw 35 times and would not have to worry about your mediocre receivers dropping the ball. Once you move back to 4-A perhaps your dreams of a district championship will come true but for this year well...keep dreaming!!

This Copperas Cove team is VERY good. If Judson could not hold the Cove O to less than 20, Heights won't hold them either. Judson had some problems on offense, but still managed 19 points. 2 missed PATs and 1 missed field goal held us under 20, but it was our problem. Cove is very good at capitalizing on mistakes and the defense is good at causing them.

You guys had to come from behind to beat Killeen and your best game was against a team that has not won in 2 yearsand you only could manage 24 against them. The only question about this game is which one of our backs gets to 100 yard first. I'm betting on Buckram but Milsap may take it. ;)

It was just one of those things were i was thinking come on, i think if we put our jv out there it would be the same score, but it wouldnt have looked near as bad. How can you say you have any shot at all when your playing the 8th ranked copperas cove team, and you lost to cedar park 35-0 like that. You can't say you have had that big of a turnaround, it simply almost isnt possible. I'd almost be willing to make a friendly wager (even though there is no way this could ever go down) that their is no way that heights could stay within 21 points.

And don't give me any of this "thats just because you left your starters in" junk. I admit, Lee is not a very good team. But they should not be 5A because the have a magnet school there and some of the population is ineligible for sports. Laredo Nixon wins games in their district, and MacArthur is a decent team. We don't leave our starters in for games like this.

lol get reasonable. That was the worst display i've seen from any 5a team that has ever played a 15-5a team againts Cedar Park. It wasnt the fact that you couldnt move the ball, but it was how you were turning it over that really got me. If you guys compete for district in yalls district than that district is on more of a decline than i originally thought. Theres no way you guys have turned yalls team around that much in 3 weeks. If cedar park can get you 35-0 the way you played, then Cove can easily get you 49-7 easily, without even thinking twice.

Traffic was the main reason for moving games. All the traffic coming up HWY 6 to central texas, both ISD's didn't want to add to the problem, and with RITA hitting sometime tonight, didn't want the kids out stuck in buses stuck in traffic either

Plain and simple Cove should put the boots to Heights, by at least 39 points. Cove has already won a game against one the states biggest power houses and guess what Heights is not even close to that. Message to Cove use some of the second teamers in the second half, it will help you in the playoffs.

I was impressed with some of the support from Rocket fans and Leander fans. Obviously Prime Time is young, and is supportive of his dream team.

Anything can happen and we will know shortly just who is better. I agree that it would be a miracle for Heights to put the win in the bag but miracles do happen. I see Cove bustin Heights hard after the first two possessions they will be shut donw for the most part. 74% of Heights offense has came from one player. If one player can be controlled that means only 26% of the rest of the team has to play against 100% of the other. Doing the math and looking at stats one does not have to be educated to see who the favorite should be to win this thing.

Dawgs will lay up after they have put the spanking on Heights and let the other guys get p laying time like they have 2 out of the past 3 games.

Judson was the only game where there was no room to sub. and COve started its first two series with the 2nd string QB.

At the half. Shorts has not been the force for the Knights but has helped. Cove is turning the ball over consistantly which is not good. Heights is hungry and they are showing it so far, minus Coves first two possessions which they were able to route the Knights. They adjusted and have looked well.
Second half, Cove will come out with adjustments made and will take care of business. If Heights can adjust correctly to the changes they may pull off one of the many upsets this weekend.

Temple HS has some Louisianna Players that aren't eligible to play until Monday, so they got a judge to block the games for the Bell County teams. Temple ISD Superintendant is a big time low life bottom feeder in a lot of issues not just football.
