Sorry I can't re-find the thread, but this Robert Horry's SEVENTH ring, not sure of the breakdown:
2 with SA?
3 with LA
2 with Houston
It might be 3 with SA, then, it would be one less with someone else. That's impressive regardless.

The funny thing is....Horry will NOT be a hall of famer. Talk about being in the right place at the right time...7 times...lol
He has 7 rings, do you put him in the Hall of Fame with career avrages of:
8.4 ppg
5.8 rpg
2.4 apg
Thoughts?

I'd say yes because of how he performs in the biggest moments of the biggest games. He does it time after time after time.

Horry is nowhere close to being in the Hall of Fame. I don't care how many rings he has, Jim Loscutoff won 7 rings with the Celtics as a role player, with somewhat similar stats to Horry, that doesn't make him Hall of Fame worthy.

You say yes only because he played with Houston
If it wasn't for that fact you'd be like "NO HE DOESNT DESERVE TO BE IN IT"

wrong about me being a Houston fan
wrong about me having another opinion based on who he plays(played) for.

You continue to contradict yourself. You've said in other threads that you don't hate the rockets like you do with the Spurs and Mavs. You're a Houston fan, just admit it. I've seen it in other posts....just don't feel like looking them up lol

How does that translate to me being a Rockets fan? There's at least 12 teams that I hate less than the Mavs and Spurs. That shouldn't be a surprise. :D They're pretty easy to hate

Not a HOF but a great example of what it takes to make a team. He's always known his role and prepared in a way that has allowed him to be clutch when called upon. Great ball player, if you're more that a casual fan you'll agree with that assesment.

But that's playoffs...what about regular season?

Horry said on Dan Patrick today he should not be in the HOF. Said he didn't rebound enough or score enough. Classy guy. He also said the Laker team that lost one PO game was the best team he ever played on. Starters were Kobe, Shaq, Horace Grant, Ron Harper and Rick Fisher. I don't know - I think the '05 Spurs or this team could give them a series.

I think I read that Horry is outranked in terms of rings only by a handful of Celtics from the 50s/60s.
That's impressive. Yes, he was at the right place at the right time, but it's not like he hasn't contributed in a big way every place he's been.
What a great teammate. By the way, watching the Spurs play team ball, reminds me of those Bill Russell teams. I'm a Houstonian and I have to tell you I've been pulling for the Spurs from the beginning. I love their chemistry and team focus.

You make a good point. I guess I was also taking into consideration that all his teams were better with him there than after he left. I'm sure there were other factors but I'm almost sure that his departure had an impact in each case.

He's played with some all time greats....Olajuwon,Drexler, Kobe, Shaq, Duncan. He defines the word role player...I just don't think you can put him in the hall based on clutch shots in the playoffs. Not taking anything away from him though.

The biggest shot of Horry's career is arguably the one he delivered to Steve Nash in this year's playoffs. The man simply comes through for his team.

So Cleveland CavalierDad, are you originally from Dallas? You seem more like a Dallas fan than a Houston fan to me.
Never lived in Dallas. I care less about the Mavs than even the Spurs. You are joking about the Cleveland part right? In case you're not The Woodlands College Park are the Cavaliers.

I agree he is a great role player and good clutch player but i just wouldnt put him in the HOF based on that alone. Most players, if not all already in the HOF or on the list for 50 all-time greatest players are not just role players but stars, who without them the team would really be nothing

But yeah, the Rockets were never the same without him. Most aggravating thing they did from my point of view was trading away their championship nucleus to acquire Barkley. I guess ownership couldn't stand all that winning.

Rockets should've never traded him away. Still remember the day they drafted him,and everybody booed him..think the fans wanted Harold Miner. Rockets tried to trade him 4 Sean Elliot, then Barkely.
