Looks like we'll play on Thursday night. Our JV A & B will be playing each other tonight. Not sure about freshman.

I can understand the Thursday thing. If I was living in Temple I'd probably not want my kids on buses on Friday night heading towards College Station.

Stay safe, y'all.

Temple cancelled it. Got a court order against traveling or some such stuff.

As I understand it, Consol offered to play it at Temple. No dice.

Looks like we're going to try to play on Monday now. Probably be rainy as hell.

There is an undercurrent that the Temple coach would just rather not play this game. Since I've never met the man, I can't concur exactly.

I don't know if he does not want to play the game but from the way Temple has been playing it will be an extra scimmage for you guys anyway. Just makes next week a short week which is the downside of playing a monday game.

Its a stupid move because they could have easily played thursday and the now they have to play A&M consol and Belton on the same week

I'm trying to be totally objective in my next statement... they might not wanted to have had their kids stuck in this mass exodus leaving the coast... But, if we offered to come there... then I just don't get it.

It was a beautiful day today. It'll probably be a beautiful day tomorrow. Least until early Saturday morning. :)

Consol game postponed

By LARRY BOWEN

The high school football game between A&M Consolidated and Temple scheduled for Thursday night has been postponed because of travel concerns.

Bell County judge Jon Burrons on Thursday morning requested that school students not travel unless for emergencies.

Consolidated athletic director and head football coach Jim Slaughter said the District 13-5A opener between the Tigers and Wildcats has been tentatively rescheduled for Monday at 7 p.m. at Tigerland Stadium.

If the game is played on Monday, Consolidated’s next game at Waco, originally scheduled for Friday, Sept. 30, would have to be moved back at least one day according to University Interscholastic League rules.

The Consol-Temple game had been scheduled for Friday, but was switched to Thursday because of the threat of Hurricane Rita.
