Difference between me and the "dowtrodden" is that I love ingenuity and outside the box smacktalk. Check out the site and see how much they're talking about being 6-0 going to Lubbock, I mean it is insanity. Yet, when we share it with this board, it won't work. Thus, my apologies.

In fact, you could say that the GAP kid helped to initiate that second picture by leading the goalpost brigade that eventually caused the fighting. That is one of the reasons that the Aggies don't like going to play Tech in Lubbock which is where this entire dialog initiated... Aggies preparing to go to Lubbock. All those pictures are are visual representations for why A&M hates playing Texas so much. They are connected. It's pretty simple... at least I thought it was.

It's not a joke. Tech beat A&M in a big game in Lubbock several years ago. The Tech fans celebrated by storming the field and tearing down the goal posts. They then proceeded to carry the goalpost all the way across the field to the A&M fan section where they threw the goalpost into the stands thus starting the fighting seen in the second picture I posted. That infamous picture shows a young man (who I don't believe was even in college at the time) "leading" the charge in his GAP shirt. And so, the legend of the GAP kid was born.

I've responded to his PMs, but he has been silent for a couple of days. He knows how to reach me on Hornfans, so I'm not going to press my luck here. However, in the last PM I received from him, he conveyed to me that he is not the jerk a lot of people think he is. I hope he doesn't mind me sharing that, but I think it's important and relevant to see how everyone can get too carried away at times. Perhaps wide took it to the extreme, but he just strikes me as an extreme kind of guy. That's no defense for his behavior though. Hopefully, it's a cautionary warning encouraging people (myself included) to take things very lightly around here.

However, I can't recall the last time a "joking" thread involving Texas schools worked. We've only managed to find common ground against OU and Bob Stoops in that area and actually make it fun. The Texas stuff has always turned into a bash fest.

Yes, certainly. Black and Red is not an idiot. Speakers of French, Portuguese, Spanish, Italian, and Romanian are all commonly referred to as "Latins", especially Port., Spanish, and Italian. Those are all romance languages directly descended from Latin. I'm not making that up.

A Portuguese is not a Latin American, but she could def. be a "Latina".

I hate all those broad words anyway: Hispanic, Latin, Latino. Nationality or geographic locators are a much better way to do it. I run into so many people who use "Hispanic" or "Latino" as a euphenism, when they really mean "Mexican" or "Central American", or "South American". Why? "Mexican" is a nationality, not a racial slur.

I agree... It is much easier to say what your nationality is rather than just say Hispanic or Latino/a... but when someone says Latin... people automatically think Hispanic... which is why I asked if Portuguese was considered latin or not...
