We had a superb turnout and some good athletes who made their way into the day long event. I wish to thanks all the players, parents, volunteers, Max Emfinger and the Kennedale coaches for all of their help with the event. We will definitely do this again next year.
Biggest Impressions
Luke Anderson, CB - Southlake Carroll >> named to Max Emfinger's 2008 All-Star Game Classic and is the Combine MVP, ran a 4.3 40 and a 40 vertical.
Steven Darrow, QB - Granbury >> named to Max Emfinger's 2008 All-Star Game Classic, ran a 4.6 40 and a 35 vertical
Cole Beasley, QB - Little Elm >> what he lacks in size, he makes up in pure athletic ability.
Willie Carter, WR - Crockett >> named to Max Emfinger's 2008 All-Star game Classic , all around pure athlete and has great size and solid numbers.
Logan Barrett, QB/K - Kennedale >> named to Max Emfinger's 2008 All-Star Classic, gifted athlete and makes great usage of his feet and arms.
Brandon Terry, OL/DL - Liberty Hill >> second fastest among players weighing over 240 in the 40 and the fastest among underclassmen with the same weight group.
Wesley Story, TE/DE - Little Elm - solid athlete all around with great strength and heart, one of the top bench pressers at the combine.

Luke Anderson and a 4.3 forty ?? Not saying that he isnt a solid athlete but 4.3 ?? Seems slightly fast.

I don't know about his 40 time, but he has an impressive football burst that is great for a safety to have (i.e. breaking on the ball after it has been put up in the air, exploding into a ball carrier, beating a RB to the corner in run support, etc.) I guess a 4.3 and 40" vert are a little better than I would have guessed, but he looked very explosive to me last year. If he were a couple inches taller and about 10-15lbs. heavier he might be another SLC player getting early D1 interest. I'm not real sure, he may be getting it anyway. I expect him to have a great year this year, being one of the returning starters and having gotten his feet wet last year.

I think Luke Anderson is one of those SLC kids right on the edge of either a lower (D-1A) offer are some (D-1AA) offers. I could see for sure some (D-1AA) offers coming his way if he wanted them.

He will be put to the test early on has Miami NW has a 6'6" receiver and a 6'4" receiver.

His first 40 was timed at 4.19. They made him run again because they said there must be a mistake. The second time he ran 4.3. He also did 19 reps of 185. He missed the Nike combine in Keller because of an injury. Returning starter at Saftey he should be in for a great Sr year.

Johnson measured 6'2.5" at the Scout combine in the late spring, not quite 6'4" (wish I was "only" 6'2.5" :D ) but yeah... your point is very valid.

I question it because I've been a huge football fan for years from HS to college. I played HS football with some really fast dudes that went to LSU, Texas and Tulsa (WR, DB, RB) and only one of them could come close to running a 4.3 and it was more of a legit (4.45) and he was one of the best football players in Texas.
I've seen 1,000's of High School players over the years and maybe only a handful could "MAYBE" reach the 4.3 range "MAYBE."
Not taking anything away from Luke Anderson. I think he is a very good HS football player for SLC. I hope he has a great Senior year. But, I dont see (4.3) in him. I just doubt it that's all. (4.3) is fast, real fast, almost stupid FAST.;)

for these two i hope the QB is accurate, wouldnt want to leave them out there hanging. OUCH

Ok, Rivals says he's 6'6"

Does that mean 6'4" or do they ususally put it as the acturate measure?

Streeter measured 6'5.5" at a Junior day combine on Feb. 18 of this year, so 6'6" isn't much of a stretch. Aldarious Johnson measured 6'2.5" at the Scout.com combine earlier this spring. They have another great WR on their team who is getting overlooked named Kendall Thompkins who measured 5'10.5", 157lbs...(think Brainard's build). He's a very good WR who would be the #1 option on a lot of teams. Great concentration/hands with very good speed.
As a reference point, Schwartzstein measured 6'2.5" at the Scout combine, Jake Jackson measured 6'3", Richards 6'3.5".

Not sure where they get their numbers but some.....not all but some are off a little. I was at the NIKE Camp in Boulder this weekend and some of the players were given an inch or two. I know of one outstanding player on the D side of the ball that was listed at 6'3" and he was an inch shorter then my son at 6'2"? No way he was 6'3" unless he's shrinking. :D

He will be put to the test early on has Miami NW has a 6'6" receiver and a 6'4" receiver.
Both of those receivers will have to work to get open, regardless of how new the defenders are. They are very athletic, yes, but no where near blazing speed. Throwing it up for grabs just isn't gonna cut it, in my opinion.
