12-5a Teams In The 7-on-7 Sqt's

REL plays in the Rockwall SQT this weekend. They are going up against some tough people. They are in pool C with Plano East. South Garland, Wylie, North Mesquite are also in the tournament. JT will be playing in the Paris SQT on June 16th. That will also be an OK SQT. REL's SQT is on July 23rd I believe. Mesquite is playing in the Southlake Carrol SQT this weekend also. Longview will be in their own league with their local teams.

This should give us an early look at some of the competition. I would like to see everyone in 12-5A do well and hopefully stay injury free. I know it's just 7-on-7, but I'm still excited. Traditionally, we have done pretty well in the tourney, winning it in '99 and losing in the semis to Tyler Lee the year they won it ('03?). Last year we lost to Katy in OT in the semis of the consolation round.

I know we're doing the Wylie SQT as well.

Longview just started doing 7 on 7s last year. We still haven't gotten into the State thing, just facing the teams around this area (Spring Hill, Pine Tree, Hallsville, Tatum, White Oak)

I believe this is the first year for Mesquite to do the 7-on-7, but I'm not positive. I'm curious to see how Kelly Page performs after returning from his injury last season. I heard he looked good at the various QB camps he has attended. Mesquite was a different team before they lost him last season, and would have given Allen all they wanted in the playoffs IMO.

That seems to be Mesquite's probably a lot. I know it happened in 2005, they started their 2nd string QB and by the end of the game they were down to their 3rd or 4th QB.

And last year, obviously, Page went down.

If they can stay healthy, they might be able to do some things. We'll see.

correction:REL SQT is june 23 , plus jt may play in the paris sqt, but they are schedule to play well before then though. i forgot the date but its this weekend or next week. dont forget the season games should be starting before then to.
