Interesting week 3, to say the least.

Next week

Mag @ Fair geez I think Fair
Falls @ Creek lets see if Creek can stay unbeaten- I take Falls
Tom @ LC I think LC wins. I was impressed with LC QB stats against Falls
Springs at Ridge should be Ridge but........... Springs

Are we shaping up for the 175A winner to have 2 losses??

Here is one guys opinion:

Fair beats Magnolia easy. Poor Kenjura, left a quality program for being the bottom of the barrel of a bad league.

Langham over Tomball. Langham will step back up and pull this one out.

Ridge over Springs. Theibaud will have the boys ready to bounce back. Tackacs is throwing the ball well. Not as good as Jenkins but close

Falls over Creek. Have not been impressed with Creek since McCaig took over. Has not turned it around like everyone thought. Falls team speed is more than Creeks. Falls win but it could be close if the bad play calling continues.

What a crazy district where 3 losses might make you the district champion

gonna be a fun season, as it already shows:

fair well over magnolia. no offense, but mag won't be close.

ridge by springs + 10. springs needs help except for lewis.

falls over creek, but noe by much. tillman is out for 3 weeks.

lc will take t-ball. lc defense finally steps up to the run, & t-ball can't throw.

Wow Belagio, easy tiger. Hopefully this week my picks are right on. With Tillman out it could be tougher on the Falls. I think most people would agree with me that the district has been down the last few years compared to teams in the past. If you would like I can give you examples:

1987- Cy Fair went to semi's to lose to Plano who won state, after Trahan's North Mesquite game.

1990 - Cy Creek. Team had Sam Adams, Shane Rink and Dan Neil. Pretty good line to say the least.

1993 - Cy Creek. #1 team in the city that beat Yates at Tully

1994 - Cy Creek. Top 5 in the city that lost by 2 to state champion Marshal

1995 - Jersey Village. Beat Defending state champion John Tyler

I think those teams would dominite this year in the district. Just making a point that Cy Fair, like HISD, like Fort Bend is not what it used to be.

Fair over Magnolia easily (+ 35)

Ridge over Springs

Falls over Creek - I know Tillman's out for a couple of weeks but Brekke and our defense can handle it just fine. Besides, we owe them back for last year.

LC will beat Tomball - even with the loss I was impressed by their spunk!! They just about pulled it out over us and we had a 34-7 lead. I think they will be in the playoff mix

the game has been moved to 7:00 pm on thursday due to the threat of the storm. it will be played at tomball, and be a LC home game.
i also believe the other 17-5A games have been moved as well, but have no solid account for the destinations.

I still don't understand why you people are still doubting Tomball? Last time i checked there defense was extremely good, and when you rush for almost 300 yards a game why pass? Langham Creek has proven to be porus against the run. It is at Tomball even though Langham Creek is the home team, which means home fans will be there. The 2 losses were very close games to pretty good teams which the game outcome could have went any way.

I was wondering if they were going to do this...it's looking more and more like this thing is coming here. I think playing Thursday may make it seem a little more urgent and may have an impact but not a huge one. According to my daughter, everyone in the school is just so full of excitement, fear, wonderment about this thing - most have never been through one. I went to the grocery store today - it was like a sale at Macy's - people were fighting over water...for gosh sakes, just fill up some containers people!!! I've been through Carla and Alicia I can make it through Rita!! Carla was a cat 4 and we sat on my grandmothers porch in the Heights and watched it go through, wind and all. I don't really remember since I was not even 2 but my mom has pictures of it. ;)

Hey
Everyone be safe. HS football is a minor issue right now, certainly not next week since Texas HS football is almost bigger than hurricanes, but right now for sure. See you boys and girls next week. Tape up!!! Be safe.

All of a sudden tomball puts a spread package in and they can throw...watch out, run game + pass game + solid defense = trouble

Tomball managed to throw the ball against below-average defense in the form of Langham Creek. The Cougars need to prove they can throw the ball consistently before anyone proclaims that they have a "pass game". Still, good win by Tomball. The table is set for a a very important match up with the "other" Cougars, Cy-Creek.

cy-creek has more talent/speed/coaching then many expect. doubters only make us stronger and cy-falls learned the hard way. The way they acted, cheap shots, after we took the lead, really showed how strong cy-creek has character wise, and how weak cy-falls (supposidly #8 in houston before the loss) is.

23-7 cougars.
