It looks as though Garland will run the table on the all Garland district, but who will still be in the race for the other 2 spots? Rowlett appears to be having a good year, but can they make it happen when it counts? South is injured and North hasn't lived up to its expectations. I for one am going to root for North and South against Rowlett so that Garland can play Tyler Lee instead of Longview and the teams that come after them. Any thoughts?

I don't know about Garland, North, South or Rowlett, but uhhhh....you gys have a new school called Sachse. And so far their 4-0! Yes they've played some sorry teams, but they have alot of confidence heading into district.
Besides that they've beaten those teams...165-27. And they've got a down playing North Garland squad this Friday!!
All I'm saying is don't be surprised.
Personally, I see....
1) Garland
2) Rowlett
3) North Garland

I think its going to be Garland #1 North Garland #2 and Rowlett #3... I would love to play Longview or Tyler Lee first round... both would be great matchups :D

Who you have to play in the opening round...is just who you have to play. Give us some of that Garland pride! Garland should be able to play with any team in state, come playoff time...if they want to have any hope at advancing!!!
Their mentality needs to be "We can beat anyone you put in front us! Period!!"......anything else, cancel the check....call the doctor....turn out the lights....the parties over!!

Ok anyone saying that Sachse is going to compete at all this year.... it wont happen. They did the same thing last year, played garbage teams beat all of em then went into district and lost everygame. There is one team they may beat and that would be naaman.

If North plays like they have bee playing there is no way they'll make the playoffs.
1st. Garland
2nd. Rowlett
3rd. South Garland
Atleast thats how I hope it'll happen :)

If Sachse can beat a legit program (sorry Molina), they'll get all the respect they want...

Sachse makes me so mad...they think they're such hot dogs because they went undefeated in non-district. We'll see how they feel when we hang 60 (or more) on them later this year...

This is the longest winning streak of the school, cut them some slack...Well atleast you can say you have a better record than them

Lets talk about the Carter game for a minute Owl fans. The fake punt after calling a timeout in the 3rd quarter when everybody in the stadium (even Carter fans :D ) knew it was coming is just poor coaching. I would not look past Rowlett. Hardin has them rolling now and a real good RB. If you go in the playoffs cocky like you did against Longview in 2002 you will get you *** handed to you no matter who you play.

Who says were cocky?
Every year Rowlett comes into district looking like this is the year they make their playoff berth...and each year they fail to do so...

Whens the last time though that Rowlett started 3-1?
Really a question, cause I have no idea when it was.

I'm not from Missouri.....but "show me", anyway, then I'll take you seriously.
It's just like the people who get on here and trumpet a Valley school, or a Rio Grande school, or an El Paso school to be the next best thing since sliced bread and then get whipped 45-0 when they meet a "real" program.
Either punch me in the nose and make me notice you or don't bother bluffing.
Street cred, to put in you kids terms, is earned.

Slow down there...
First off, no one is discounting Rowlett as far as I have seen. They have looked good, beaten some legit teams, and have gotten the attention of everyone else in the district. Frankly, it looks to me like it will take a pretty solid collapse for the Eagles not make the playoffs, especially when you look at what is happening to South Garland and North Garland. This week, SG and Rowlett play, and that will tell us a whole lot about the district race.
Secondly, it sounds like you just have an axe to grind about Garland in general. Why else would you bring up '02? Who says the Owls are going into the playoffs cocky? They haven't even made the playoffs yet; there is a whole district season yet to be played. There is a difference between cockiness and confidence (sometimes it is a fine line, but there is a difference). Garland has a confident team that has played as tough a non district schedule as there is in the state. Next week, they start district play.
Finally, yes, the fake punt looks now to be a bad call. Had it worked, we'd all be praising it. Personally, if they weren't punting, I would have preferred that they just line up in their regular offense and go for it. However, sometimes you have to roll a hard six. Didn't work this time.
Lobo: RHS has had a history of good non-district play. Several times they have come into district play undefeated or with only one loss. This year, they have played much stiffer competition. They have, in my opinion, much more of a feel of legitimacy to them than in the past. I think they are definately a playoff contender, but what do I know? Before the season, I thought they would be lucky to finish fourth...

I have no axe to grind with the Owls. However they did not respect Longview in 02 or they would have at least made a game of it. They have enough talent to 4 rounds deep in the playoffs nearly every year yet consistently fail to do so. To me that is a coaching issue. They had as many unsportsmanlike penalties as Carter did the other night. They will not go deep in the playoffs until they (and Carter) learn to shut up and play.

Yep. Guess we better not go to sleep on Sachse. They have a Lousiana transfer at LB who may be as good as anyone in the district. Rowlett looked good, but SG's defense did shut Pierce down for the most part (RHS moved the ball a lot through the air and got three or four turnovers from SG that helped them immensly).
GHS will have to weather a storm to get through district, but I'd still say their the favorites. Of course, grades come out this week, and theres always the possibility of losing a player or two because of that.
Bye week is over - time to get serious!

I would say Garland is most definately the favorite. I'm glad Sachse is coming along because I didn't want another Rowlett where they take 10 years to get their act together.
