Here is my unbiased rankings of the teams I've seen or listened to play this year (just in case anyone is interested):
1. Southlake Carroll, Euless Trinity (tie) (Two great offenses. I know a few of those huge Tongans. Nice guys. Can't say who would win if they played today. Could make a good argument for either one. Actually, I've got to go with SLC until Trinity proves they can win it all when it counts.)
3. Hoover, Alabama (Looked good on TV, but seemed one dimensional.)
4. Colerain, Ohio (Sounded good, only heard the audio)
5. Tyler Lee (Two losses against very good teams. Two good wins.)
6. Coppell (Moody is the real deal. Made SLC defense look bad until they adjusted and shut him down in the 2nd half.)
7. Midland Lee (Haven't followed them all that much since week zero game)
8. Plano East (Very good defense. Offense needs lots of work.)

You've got to take LEE out of there granted I know they've played two really good football teams but, this team is on track to lose atleast 2 more games if not 3. I have'nt seen a defense play this poor yet under Mike Owens tenure.

Is this your top 10 for the nation. These teams wouldnt even be considered in the top 10 in the state right now, let alone in the nation. Coppell.... Midland Lee. COme on dude.

COme on dude. It's the top teams that I've seen or heard play this year. I thought it was important to post it. Since I haven't seen or heard anybody else play so far this year it would be un-objective of me to include them in my ranking.

This thread was started in response to another such thread that was started. The first thread was stared by a members that put out a ranking of only the teams that he had seen play. It was a personal view thread that is only observations based on being able to see 2 games a week from a specific geograpic location. Are these rankings anything more than one persons observations? No. Do they in any way reflect all the high school programs in the state of Texas? No. Are they mildly confusing and misunderstood? Yes. Are they a wast of time? Look dude, it a posting on a High School Football message board! Draw your own conclusions!

You can't exclude Warren Central out of Indianapolis. They have been awesome over the last few years.

I'd say your ranking, based on what you've seen, could be helpful to someone else who looks to create a Top 25 list. Then again, they could ask you if you've seen such and such play, as well. That could be just as helpful.
Anyhow, I see your point and I see Fleeman's point.
And I think neither are right...nor wrong!

Or maybe he's only seen or heard 8 teams play this year, so they would all be on his list (until he expands his horizons some more for this year.)

This high school board would be very boring if we always had to talk only about the teams we've seen play. There are some conclusions that you can draw without seeing a team play. Don't get me wrong because watching gives more insight, but it's not the prerequisite for comments. I won't see a game all year, but that doesn't mean I won't have words of wisdom. I know, it doesn't mean I'll be right, either! :D

well, SLCdad----you need to see a Longview game or listen to one because we would beat hell out of your 4-10--don't know much about Hoover, but we could give them a run for their dollars--as well as the #1 spot.............

Really not sure what the point of these myopic rankings are - other than to highlight the fact that most of us don't know what the heck we're talking about!
The best teams will start rising to the top in the next five weeks - probably won't be too many surprises in Texas 5A football. Does anyone here that knows football truly believe that someone other than the current top 7-9 teams will be there in the end for both divisions?
