Euless Trinity looks like the real deal to me

While the ONLY team i root for is the Trinity Trojans. There's still MANY challengers to the crown despite our impressive start. Besides with the start of tougher than usual district play for many contenders the mentality should be that everybody is once again 0-0.

D1 Euless Trinity vs. Converse Judson
D2 Longview vs. Smithson Valley

Trinity doesn't have strong competition in D1 R1 and R2 isn't as strong this year. They almost have a pass to the title game.

Judson has one tough game in R4 and they should beat Clemens. I do think home field over Westfield will make a difference.

Right now, I favor Trinity over Judson, but that's because the Rockets aren't firing on all cylinders yet. They have time and my opinion can change about the playoffs.

SLC and Abilene will be good teams in R1, but the Dragons probably get to the semis. Cove, Lufkin, and Longview all have real good teams. I'll give the Lobos a narrow win over Lufkin and Cove before taking down the Dragons.

Katy and SV are real good teams and I'll give the edge to SV.

I'll go with Longview for the title even though they don't give me anything from the past to say they'll do it!

wow, Lonny---that's a mighty bold opinion, brother........i'm not going to say that we will win the whole thing, but i will say that we will get pretty close--this is the strongest, fastest team that i have seen since '97, maybe the best team that i have seen in my "Lobo" lifetime..........SLC, Abilene, Lufkin, Cove, Garland, Katy--etc.........way too many teams out there that are just as good, or even better..........

I was just waiting for a Longview guy to read my post. Like I've said all year, I want to know what Longview has over Lufkin that they didn't in the past. I do think that this Longview team is better than the last few years and the games against Lufkin have been close at times. The Panthers and SLC haven't dominated and there's some hope that they might be down a little. Both teams have too much to not maybe jump up and dominate, but they haven't shown it so far.

The one message about Longview that I've always tried to get across is that I question them and how good they are because I want them to succeed. I get tired of them losing to Lufkin, but I never hear anything about why they'll all of a sudden start beating them. I'm harsh on Judson and probably not fair to the kids, either. It's not easy to have a bunch of fans expecting you to never lose and sometimes why you don't win by higher margins. For me the big difference in what I say about the Lobos and Rockets is history. Even when Judson is not playing like I expect, I can fall back on the fact that they pulled it out before and will maybe do it again. For Longview, I look for more evidence because they don't have the titles.

what are the odds of kt going d-1? that occurence would make sv the prohibitive favorite to claim a tv spot from the south. the d-1 road would be a murderer's row, esp in the south. et would look to be the best candidate from the north. the northern d-2 road would be treacherous still, but maybe less so than last year.

Wow - Lonny going with Longview - alert the media. I picked Longview as the team to beat in D2 way back last June or so. Almost rescinded my pick because Rclisle has been so unbelievably annoying - but they remain very lethal. Possible match-ups with Lufkin, CCove and SLC would certainly confirm or deny if they are great or not. No softies coming in from the north.

But I'm convinced Katy is the team from the south - I think they beat SV. Oddly enough - I think Longview or Lufkin would be the tougher game for Katy than SLC. Regardless of any 40 times you hear coming from Katy-land - the team speed of Longview/Lufkin would be a huge factor for them.
