after floyd mayweather defeated oscar dela hoya . there has been alot of talk about him being the best boxer pound for pound. some may try to argue all-time great. since then there have been names thrown out there that may want to challenge floyd. migeul coto and shane mosley are some big names, but the biggest of them all has been "TITO" TRINDAD.this would be a match that could probobly exceed dela hoya\mayweather in ppv buys to become the highest grossing fight ever. those of you who didnt know tito was the first to beat oscar. he had a devastating left hook that would devour a elephant.;) . this guy was\is a bad man. he would be the one to knock out floyd if there is anybody. he has been quoted as sayin that he would be interesting in fighting floyd at 160 pds. tito retired for the second time after suffering only his second defeat in a lop-sided fight to winky wright. pryor to that he lost to benard hopkins by tko in the 11 round in sept. 2001.then came out of retirement and knocked out ricardo moriyaga in the 6th round. trinidad like floyd has won titles in numerous weight divisions. if this happens, this would be a very dangerous fight for mayweather. but on the bright side for mayweather. he would stand to make more than one he did for fighting oscar. prediction: tito by ko.......... before oscar/floyd ..........."tito" trinidad/ dela hoya was the highest grossing non- heavyweight fight.

Is SLC recruiting him? HE would make a fine WR, but the UIL might have a problem with it.

Have you forgotten what Winky did to him? Let's Bring tyson out of retirement....he'll shut Floyd up....what about Lennox Lewis?:rolleyes:son winky beat tito because tito did not have a fight plan . he just wanted and thought he could just go in and land a big knockout punch and go home like the past fights. i agree winky beat tito one sided. but that because tito was just lookin past him and didnt even bring a fight plan with him. rematch would spell k.o win for tito. if he would have landed a punch on winky . it would have been over. i bet floyd want fight tito unless he is guaranteed more than he made against oscar because tito is way to dangerous to risk his undefeated record. "tito" "tito" "tito" !!!!!

Tito is one of my top 3 favorite fighters of all time, so it's kinda hard for me to just bash him and say he's gonna get schooled by Floyd if this fight were to come off. No matter what were to happen if they fought Tito would never quit coming forward throwing punches, but I hope this fight doesn't come off.

TGO chiming in...

I DO think Tito would press the fight, and undoubtedly would be looking to land the big "lefty", however, Floyd is the best defensive fighter and as good as any counter-puncher that I've ever seen or heard of. Tito will take as much as he gives, which is not a good thing. WHy? Because no matter what he does he'll most likely never land a solid punch...without that, he's dead in the water.

Tito cannot fight great defensive fighters (Floyd, Winky)...and if he does, his style will allow him to be manipulated. In other words, he'll glove-punch his way to a loss. I think Floyd would go the distance with Tito or gain a 10 Round TKO. (Doubt the TKO.) Either way, Floyd would win.

That said, Tito is one of the Top 14 Pound for Pound boxers of the last 20 yrs. (Floyd Mayweather, Bernard Hopkins, Oscar De La Hoya, Mike Tyson, Evander Holyfield, Lennox Lewis, Thomas Hearns, Roy Jones Jr., Sugar Ray Leonard, Marvin Hagler, Roberto Duran, Julio Cesar Chavez and Larry Holmes being the 13 others.)

winky beat both tito and taylor..... he would do the same to floyd....

tito was good.... but after you get dominated by hopkins and winky in the fashion they dominated him.... thats got to hurt his chances of being so high on the pound for pound lists of the past few years....even the fight with oscar should have been at best a draw... because neither did anything....

Winky beats Floyd with size alone. Winky went pro in 1990 at 152 pounds...that should give you some insight at where he is now...at 5'10 he could make light heavy weight or Crusierweight easily....He would be TOO big for Floyd just like he was too big for Mosley.

Tito was good in his prime but a lot of people thought a pure boxer would beat him. Hopkins and Wright beat him EASILY..his straight forward style made it easy...he followed those guys around all night eating jabs....kept coming forward...eating jabs. I wouldnt be suprised if we finally saw a rematch between Oscar and Tito.

what??? he beats him with the jab.... i agree.. winky is bigger.. and would make it a lot tougher for mayweather.. however.. winky doesnt impose brut power or fight physically..... he boxes.. employs good defense... and a sledge hammer jab that had jermains, and titos faces all swollen.... mosely couldnt beat him because of the jab.. and his defense... so what if floyd couldnt hurt winky because of winkys size... hell.. he wouldnt hurt anyone 154 and up...winky wouldnt hurt floyd either.....he would outbox him...everytime oscar threw that jab..he landed it agains floyd..imagine what winky would do to him......just like hes going to outbox the "king" bhop!

I think he would try to impose his size...remember in BOTH fights with Mosley he kind of gave up on the defense and was more on the offensive. Floyd couldnt knock out a dog with a baseball bat...reminds me of Roy Jones. I think if Winky tried to, he could hurt Floyd...he banged Taylor up pretty good..

reminds you of roy???? ... roy never sat down on his punches.. he used speed.... even all the way up to 175... he retained his power.. he outboxed fighters.. he never had that tyson killer instinct in the ring.... however.. he had the power to knock anyone out.... remember montell griffin II? that was the only time i saw him royally pissed... and sat down on his punches... turned that wrist over and BAM! we all saw a different roy.... but i agree that winky would try to use his size..i have no doubts about that...however.. i just dont think his size alone wins the fight..hes a great boxer...and if he beats hop... hes a lock for the boxing HOF..

He reminds me of Roy in the sense that he has more TKO's than KO's...the knockouts came from refs stoping the fight, the fighter quitting or the corner throwing in the towel...from an acumilation of punches....they both have hand problems. The Griffin II fight was different...like you said..he was PISSED and was trying to kill Montel. I talk with former Light Heavyweight champ Reggie Johnson daily....he's faught Tarver, Jones and Toney just to name a few...suffered a knockdown in a descion loss to Jones. He said Jones' punches don't hurt...they just come from everywhere. He said..."if you were sitting in your backyard trying to have a picnic and Flys were everywhere.....flys don't bite, but they bother you so much you give up and go in the house because you get tired trying to swat them all"...He said Jone's punches comes from the last place you expected them too and they were too quick.

that shot that put reggie down was vicious...picture perfect.. but the point on roy i was trying to make was that... he had the power and the capability to knock anyone out with one shot...however..he never had that killer instinct...and beat people with accumulation of punches like floyd does right now...however... mayweather on the other hand couldnt be a knockout artist even if he wanted to.....

Yeah...If there was any shot you wanted to see on Youtube.....That 1-2 he put on Reggie was awesome. Roy was special...everything about Roy was what trainers try to teach a fighter NOT to do. Everything about him was wrong, but he was so gifted he made it work. I see guys trying to fight "Jones" style and it's suicide. Left hand low...leading with left hook, feet not planted...switching stances.......everyone can't be Roy.

roy was one of my favorite all time fighters... in his prime and on top of his game.. he could match up with the best in the history of the sport..... we need the next roy.... and its definitely not taylor...

Roy was in the wrong era..he just didnt have that great rival. I think Roy would still on top of his game if he never went to Heavyweight...I mean he killed himself to come back to Light Heavy. He has little or no body fat so...he pretty much lost muscle to move down....that's not good. If he's faught Tarver and Glen Johnson BEFORE the Ruiz fight....Haters would STILL be saying he hadn't faught anybody and wanting him to fight Lennox or Tyson.
