Brookshire Royal a 2a school says they can play with or beat any 5a school including Katy which is 15 minutes down highway 90
The team they had last year was pretty solid....I think they can play with a few 5a teams...I always called them Katy West or Katy Royal....and I've seen them in person this year...Beat 4A Houston Reagan 55-0, and it could have been worse....that team has tons of speed, but the lack of depth would eventually do them in.

It's good to have the "I-10 Gang" back in form together again. Now, all we need is for Sealy to wake back up and the west side will be complete once more. I respect any team with a "BRING IT ON" attitude.

Hey, you got the story wrong. A couple guys at Brookshire's drinking Crown Royal said they can play with anybody in 5A! :D

Newton will win 2A hands down. They would probably beat Celina by 4 or 5 TD's as it looks right now they are on a State Championship collision course for Division I

I think Royal and Celina is 2A...Royal killed a 4A squad last week and has like 30 2,000 yd rushers(Exaggeration) so who knows.

I think you will find teams like that on all levels...but with that being said...I think SOME 2a schools COULD beat SOME 5A schools.

Royal and Sealy have thought they could beat Katy since back when I was in school...it's nothing new, but it's still quite amusing.

And I dont think that's a chance some 5A teams are willing to take...If you beat them..."You beat a 2A team" If you lose "You lost to a 2A team"

Well I guess that rule is out the Window...Houston Reagan played 2A Brookshire this Year and Thrall last year. Houston Furr played Thrall this year...So 2A schools are playing 4A schools....Reagan and Furr were 5A schools a couple of years ago.

Laredo schools in 5A are playing 3A teams this year. The Valley schools play down some weeks, too.

I really do think that 2A schools would not be able to compete with most 5A programs for a number of reasons :-

1). 2A schools have many boys playing both ways.
2). 2A schools players will run out gas in the second half.
3). 5A schools have depth in most positions, not only the key positions, with back ups for the back ups.
4). 5A schools have a bigger player pool, therefore more bigger, faster and skilled players.
5). 5A schools have huge coaching staffs, with specialists for each position giving more individual personal attention and coaching.
6). 2A schools have a more limited coaching resource and is therefore spread more thinly.
7). 5A schools have vastly superior facilities such as; indoor practice fields, astroturf stadiums, weight rooms, etc.

Please do not get me wrong, Texas has great football programs from 5A to 1A and I am not underestimating the 1A or 2A Programs, but a 5A team is going to win 99% of the time, (should a 5A vs 1A or 2A ever happen.)

ive seen houston reagan play, unfortunatly... and they are by far one of the WORST teams I have ever seen play... have seen them play the past 4 years in a row... and its all the same.... so yes.. I can see how a top tier 2A can beat a bottom of the bottom tier 4a school....

however... i believe even an average 5A team such as .. elsik takes out royal with ease.. i think the size and speed would be too much... and i think royal would wear down and fade fast in a game such as that.

just my opinion.. havent seen royal play in a few years though...

That is really really wrong!!

To compare 5a to 2a or 3a is just silly overall. Yeah maybe a very good 2a ro 3a team can beat a bad or mediocre team but who really cares?? Pointless to argue about.

houstons inner city schools are horrible...facilities are poor, academics are poor, and enrollement is dropping....and are getting worse its all about the suburbs now...

except for schools like bellaire and lamar.... but.. im talking about.. washington, yates, reagan, austin, sharpstown.. etc etc...

i believe some is barely in the city limits.. some is not... i know my address is houston.. but i am not in the city limits... about a half mile out of the city limits.. so we are on the far east.... probably... 6-7 miles outside the loop

so i have never considered it inner city.. i dont think anybody that lives here would either.. we are a good 20 mins from downtown no traffic that is =)

And you're right..I'm suprised the schools you listed arent shut down. Bellaire, Lamar are still alive because of the area they are in...Westside also.

yes.. westside is actually a pretty nice school with decent facilities and good academics.. so they should be fine... its like i said.. the milby, jones, yates, reagan, washington, madison... they have great games against each other.. but.. they wont contend for a title anywhere in the near future.. not with teams like la marque, texas city, stark, etc.....

oh and im taking jones over tarver, granted jones left hand is not injured =)

Ok. I was kinda not going to go there.. but.. The thing goes,
"arguing on the internet is like running in the special olympics. No matter who wins, you're both still ********."

I was trying to be a little nice.. oh well. haha.. That is mean and all, but that doesnt stop it from being funny. The picture that goes with it shows this little boy that you can tell has problems running on a track. flailing his arms and has a huge smile across his face. hahahaha... :D

Hopkins-Taylor...Hop will find away to get out of it....Two loses to the young lion ruins his legacy. Floyd takes out everyone....Back to topic lol

But do you think it would be a good idea to shut down most of the HISD schools and Merge them...sort of what they did with the Port Arthur schools...

By the way...if you're a big boxing fan you should join that group...some boxer drop in every now and then and shoot the breeze with us.

Brookshire Royal.....sounds like a grocery store! Anyways, I like what I hear from Royal, but hey, Saddam thought he could whip the USA too! (And a few months later we found him hiding in a rat hole.)

I have a theory...when a 2A team beats Katy the world will end 15 minutes later!!
