Could they possibly be the best team in Tyler? I'm not making assumptions, but based on statistics it seems that John Tyler has a good chance of beating Tyler Lee this year. I have yet to see either teams play, and know that Lee has faced a tougher schedule.. but...

I think it is a pretty good possibility...

I guess but JT has proven nothing yet. They almost beat 4a Texarkana last year who they beat this year and they almost beat defending 4a div2 champs Kilgore last year when they lost 7-6. This year they lost in ot to Kilgore. They went 1-9 last year. Talk to me after they start their 5a district!! They are obviously better this year and Tyler Lee is not anything what they were last year no doubt so you never know??

I love how this thread gets restarted every week. They are definatly improved, and I would love to see them do well, but lets wait till district gets started to sing their praises.

Wait a minute you make a good point. John Tyler could very well once again be the best team in Tyler again like they used to be for years. With the reemergence of the Cujo spirit to go along with one of the Top offensivelines in the State Cujo might make a stronger push then we think. John Tyler droped a 3 point loss to #1 Kilgore in OT fridaynight. The Lions now how have confidence building. There 3-1 and with that big dominating offensiveline I look for them to push Longview. Yes John Tyler is no Joke they are for real. JT has a great chance at a district crown. We no how dominate Longview is but Cujo has an impressive win on there schedule that can compete with Longview whipping on ECA. John Tyler knocked off then #2 Texas High 20-14 who rolled ECA 45-10. Yes JT should beat Lee this season, and if they bring there "A" game they will give Longview hell for 4 quarters John Tyler will finish no worse then 7-3. They will be in the playoff's. Plus Lee's D'Line is horrible look for JT to push them around upfront.

Lord what is some of my Lufkin friends fixation with JT?? Again, they almost beat 4a power Texarkana last year and they lost by 1 point to Kilgore last year who went on to win the div2 4a championship. Guess what?? JT went 1-9 on the year!! Nothing has been proven yet and that is all me and others are saying. Not that difficult to comprehend.

John Tyler won one game last year and they already have won three this season. John Tyler is a improved team and after they stomp NM next week you will see. JT has a massive Offensive Line that is among the states Elite I rank them slightly behind Euless Trinity O-Line in 5A. How come it is so hard to see a improved team face it Lee will probably loose this year to John Tyler they are to small upfront and Trinity just showed them that. Cujo is back maybe not like they were in the mid 90's but they are no longer a push over. So throw the 1-9 mess out the window. Right noe they are 3-1 and should have beat Kilgore.

Oh yeah just thought you needed to know this JT scored and took the lead with 49 seconds left to make 21-14. No way should they had let kilgore down the field to send it to OT. They should be 4-0 and ranked in the Top 15 in 5A. Cujo is back and it might get a little scary.

I'm waiting for district to start before giving my opinion. You can't tell from playing 4A teams (any of them!), but they did pound PA. Beating Memorial doesn't seem to be a big feat, though.

John Tyler will beat N.Mesquite the only district game I can not see them winning is Longview. Vondrell is to good he is the best back in the state. Cujo is making there way back to the promise land. They have not looked this good since 2000.

This one will be interesting. We beat them pretty bad last year, so revenge will be on their mind as well. :) Bring it!
