I am sorry if I am butchering his name, but Svsendo, the ex wr coach from Katy high, is now JT's new offensive coordinator. I remember being asked about a while back during the season. Anyways, can any Katy fans give some insight on him.

i'm gonna go out on a limb here and say picking up any Katy coach of the last decade or so is probably a great thing. :)

His name is Scott Svendsen. He came in the year after I left, so I don't know him well as a coach personally. I've met him once.

However, I've heard nothing but good things about him from those who did play for him. Apparently, he teaches the game well and he is also well respected by his students in the classroom.

He was a part of two state championships in his time at Katy (2000, 2003), so he obviously has some very valuable experience to pass on.

Winners develop winners, probably a great hire for a proud program.

He was the wr coach when i played at katy. He's a real cool guy and had a hot wife. I wasnt a wr so i dont know how well he coached but he was a real cool coach, joked around alot. JT should be lucky to have him.

I played WR under Svendsen. This is great news for me to hear he's been given the OC spot at John Tyler. He's earned it. Anyone who's played under him will agree that he's one of the greatest men they've had the pleasure of knowing. The impact he made on me as an individual is what really solidified my desire to become a coach, in the hope that one day I can mold men and make the same impact on other kids that he made on me. He's a strong man of his faith, a true man after God's heart. He's in this business for all the right reasons. John Tyler has themselves a good one.

That's what I thought, just waiting to hear the words from a player/student/alumnus. Congratulations to Coach Svendsen. Maybe all that madness with the late coaching change will be for the best Cujo fans.

Ha! That's funny! Reminds me when I coached in Little League during the draft when all the best players had been selected. Someone always stood up and remarked, "It's time to pick the kids who have the best looking Moms!" We were actually drafting the Moms!!! :D

I coached with him when I was at Katy. He is a great coach in alot of different ways. He will build relationships with the kids, he will demand respect and have discipline, and he is great with the x' and o's. He knows the game, and John Tyler is lucky to him! Good luck Coach Svendsen!
