I agree with the post's picks.
And^^^unless A&M decides to just not come out of the locker room, I'll stay with A&M winning....pretty handly.
Of the subject of this post.....
I'm very intrigued in what Euless Trinity, Coppell, Irving, Irving Nimitz and South Grand Prairie will do in their district. Wow!...talk about tough district play this year!!

Waco @ Shoemaker 23-17 Shoemaker (should be close)
Temple @ A&M 49-14 A&M (Temple ain't got it, the OF line has wrist bands to know the plays....Really)
Bryan @ Belton 28-6 Belton (Tigers "get r done" )
was at Belton/Abilene game...Belton had many chances to win it

I would like to think Shoemaker would win but they can't stop anyone on defense. They have given up over 1500 yards in 3 games!!! Finally caught up with them last week and although Waco has not looked good either 1500 yards in 3 games seems like a trend not something that can be easily fixed.

Is Temple any good? There is a fella here at work that used to go there a long time back and he was telling me that he seems to remember Temple fielding a pretty good team. This would have been a good amount back because I think he is about 40 or so.
But it seems as though I have heard Temple mentioned before. And usually, if I've heard of them either they were good or something really bad happened..hahaha

They were good few years back have fallen on hard times recently though. Will have to see what the future holds for them but the present is not bright.

Ya Temple has completely dropped of the radar. They use to be close to a state powerhouse winning year in year out.... Now the 13-5a powerhouse has become the Copperas Cove Bulldawgs. Great team speed and discipline proves to be what can carry this team this year. The D has played very well, but thats what Cove does year in year out, play great D. If the offense plays as they did against Waco U. No one in 13-5a gets within 20 points when the final buzzer sounds.

Were hot in every sport but football so you can see many temple fans waiting for basketball and praying are football seasson ends soon, are team is young and coach is weird he put ross on D for the first 2 games that i saw. Any temple fan that has seen ross knew if we played him as RB instead the current guy we would have beat george town... and only george town... but yea only thing we have to look foward to right now is basket ball

Heights @ Cove: Cove by 24. Cove is playing good football. Everyone should be healthy. Heights defense isn't as good as last year. Playing at the Dawg Pound.
Temple @ A&M Consol: A&M by 21. A&M should be able to use their ball control offense and control the game.
Bryan @ Belton: Belton by 14. Belton played tough agains Abilene and had a chance to win. Belton offense has improved greatly from last year. Belton has home field advantage.
Waco @ Shoemaker: Waco by 10. Toughest game to choose. Shoemakers defense isn't as good as last year. Giving up a lot of yards. Shoemakers offense can score on any play. Waco has always been a defensive team. If Waco offense can sustain some drives they will win.

Temple has the most wins in the state of Texas .........and are Top 3 nationally?
They are not once they once were and have not been since Coach McQueen retired.
Waco-Temple used to be the big rivalry in district........
Now it's Waco-Cove.........and has been since 2000
Copperas Cove used to be the district doormat for years and years........but, they still have not broke through in the playoffs......this might be the year they do tho.

Another big one for awhile was Waco-Killeen Ellison
Waco and Temple used to play at Baylor Stadium.
Another great one was Killeen High and Killeen Ellison.

Temples downfall started right after the City of Temple incorporated all the land West of Loop 363 to Lake Belton and to the Leon River. This brought in a lot development. Unfortunatetly for Temple ISD all of that land falls into Belton ISD. Temple has not seen any growth in the last ten years. Belton has 3 schools inside the city limits of Temple and are overcrowded. Our high school is being expanded to hold 2500 kids but I think will be filled to capacity when finished. Temples population is about 60,000 with about 2100 in their high school while Belton population is about 14000 with almost 2200 in high school.

Temple High vs Belton High is one of the largest 'unknown' rivalries in the state.
I've seen both schools at 0-9 and 2-7 and sell out the stadiums.

Yea Temple Vs Belton is pretty big rivalry it was huger when they first played again in 2002 then peaked in 03 after still seemed like a good rivalry just not as sense in 03 they were going for district and in 02 long time no play

I doubt Temple will even be close with A&M but i decided to go out on a limb and hope for the miracle upset. See, Temple is not that good and A&M is. Cove should have no problem beating Temple either. Cove and A&M will be tougher. So doing the math, it would be nice to see Temple get the upset win.

You gotta resist when people are yanking your chain. I'd prefer to be the underdogs all season long. Our team is really starting to gel. When we went into this season, I stood by the premise that if we could win 2 of our first 3 games, we'd be okay. Georgetown proved to be a bit easier than anticipated, but IKE and Westlake gave us challenges and exposed weaknesses that we've had a chance to correct. We've also picked up a senior defensive back from the New Orleans area that has done his 15 days. I'm not sure how good he is or isn't but another experienced D-back can only help.
So, a bit of Monday Night HS Football tonight. I'm glad we're not traveling. I guess our next game is against Waco, not sure if it's friday or saturday night now that we got bumped on this other game to tonight.

Your next game will be Saturday. Something about thier has to be 5 days in between games. They moved the Bryan vs Cove game to Saturday as well.
