I know the bombs will start to drop on me. But, V. Young still needs to work on his throwing. He throws some bad passes into tough situations.
Texas will have more challenges and V. Young needs to make some better decisions with the ball...

He looks a little flat today, but I'm not worried about it. His receivers are still dropping some easy passes and VY has made some questionable choices.

Ya.. it's not like we have a real reliable backup so cant really complain to much. Just seems like he tries to put the ball into some really tight spots that is extremely dangerous. He just kind of floats them out there.
I would really like to see Texas get freshman QB- Colt McCoy some good playing time in these blowout games.
With V. Young style of play. His one good "hit" from being out really fast. That just a fact. When you have these athletic "dual-threat" QB. They take alot of hits.

you have to look at it all in perspective, texas is still very much a run first team...when someone stops the run then they pass in order to mix up the D so they can run again. they won't face a tougher D than OSU and he lit them up, so i am not concerned...but no bomb dropping here bray : )

Vince sometimes uses "easy" games like this to test himself. He throws those very hard passes against ULaLa and Rice, but you didnt see him throwing those against Ohio State. Vince understands that a few mistakes here and there arent going to hurt when you're playing Rice, but he also knows the only way to get better at those passes is by throwing them during a real game. Vince is a very smart young man. There are times when he can try and do too much and he will do something dumb (see the AJ Hawk INT), but for the most part Vince is very smart. He manages the game well and he mixes things up to keep the defenses guessing.
I say all that to say that I think Vince was just testing his abilities a bit. You dont normally see him doing stuff like that in bigger games.

I wasnt a big fan of Vincent Young, until recently, I have alot of respect, hes alot like Micheal Vick if you ask me, he can make defenders miss him, and he does it with do much ease, I would hate to get in his way...

I don't think you'll see that anytime soon. Last night when they brought in Matt McCoy the tv announcers said they had red-shirted C. McCoy. And speaking of Matt McCoy...did you see him DROP the ball. That was so funny! I'm a Longhorn fan but I still had to rewind it and watch it a few times!!! I told Wide that since they had such a huge lead they should do something different...like let the kicker come in and play quarterback. I was only joking...is that what they did or is that Matt McCoy really a quarterback!
I'll agree, Vince doesn't have the best passing game and I think that's what Mack was doing some last night...letting Vince work on that. He'll get better and if not hey...at least he's fast!
Wide, don't you go off on me for being honest, now, like you do some people. I'm not a trader just a true fan...true enough to speak the truth!

I missed like the last 6 or so minutes of the game. I love Texas but I couldnt even take it anymore ( and thats saying something) about changing the channel on Texas to watch another game. I think I turned it to the last few minutes of the Fla vs Tn game.
I didnt know what the overall plan was or is with Colt McCoy. Whoever the 2nd QB is going to be. They need to make sure his getting some good game reps so his at least comfortable getting out on the field.
V. Young is a great talent. QB's like him scare me some because their like a ticking time-bomb with the injury. I mean his one good "hit" from being out and V. Young takes some "blows" during games. I know he was feeling beat down after that Ohio St game. After a while all those "hits" add up over the course of the season. His still fresh.. just hope come late October and November his still going strong.

The band spelled out Vincent DiNino (sp?). They were honoring their old director, not Young.

Haha. I'll work on it but cant make any promises. When the fingers get going its out. Kinda of like shooting a gun. Once the bullet leaves the chamber it aint coming back.
