Oklahoma is going down again today to UCLA. Black eye for the Big-12 conference and it could hurt Texas in the overall rankings.
We need a couple of Big-12 teams to step up and become National #25 teams.
Iowa St beating Iowa last week was nice. But, overall I dont like seeing Oklahoma go down to UCLA.

Ya.. I guess the only saving grace is UCLA might be the #1 team in the Pac-10 this season. I can hear the USC people screaming but its true.
I wont be surprised to see UCLA as the Pac-10 champs this season.

I'm looking at Cal losing to Illinois right now. It's early 3rd qt but that would be really crazy. Will see what USC does against Arkansas this evening.

Well it's USC 28 - Arkansas 7 in 2nd qt so don't think this is the game for a USC upset. :(

LOL at hanging your hope on a midwest team in Iowa to show the depth of the BIg 12. I see Michigan St. made up for the Michigan loss to ND last week. That is the 5th time in a row Mich st has beaten ND at their own house. That is sad!!

Na.. I know Iowa St aint going to be a power. But, it was nice to see them beat Iowa (Big-10) because Iowa is a considered one of the Big-10 stronger teams.
It's looking like the Big-12 will have to hang some National respect on Texas, Tx A&M, Tx Tech, Mizzou & Colorado and hopefully Oklahoma or Okla St can put together a respectful season.
The only reason I even care is because when December rolls around the "voters" are going to look at Conference Strength some to determine who plays in the show.
Big-12 needs at least 3 teams playing #25 football.

If that's really the case with the officials that's sad. Sure, they are Pac-10 officials, but not to the point where you are in any way biased on your calling against other teams.

i like seeing ou being beat by teams like ucla and tcu...it means there may be a power shift from texas north to the good state and now teams like UT, Tamu, Tech and in 50 years baylor have a shot at the big 12 south...i think ou loses to ut, tech, and maybe a&m...they will lose to tech if its in lubbock and a&m is a swing game...thats my opinion do with it what you will

Oklahoma is terrible. Oklahoma State is terrible-er. A&M is average at best. Tech might be OK, but they have yet to play a team that has won a D IA game, and only one team that has even participated in one. P.S. Tech is pathetic for their pre-conference games and should not be but into the AP poll until they play a real team. Baylor might actually be better than OSU, who is also barely beating D2 teams in pre conference.
1. Texas
2.Tech
3. A&M
4.OU
5.OSU
6. Baylor

Texas Tech should be fined for putting 80+ points on Sam Houston St. They get no respect for such scheduling. I would put Texas at the top as you did but the gap between 3 and 6 is not that big they are all equally bad.

Dont know what this comment means, if it refers to the USC/Arkansas game then you are way wrong, cause in the NCAA when a non confrence game is played, it is agreed upon that the visiting teams conference officals will officiate the game. The other laughable comment you made was UCLA winning the PAC 10, I have been one of the only defenders of the PAC 10 on this board, and have stated on numerous occasions that UCLA would be a much better team this year, however making the comment that they will win the PAC10 is as bold a statement that I have ever read. If anyone has any doubts about USC after tonight then they are flat out delusional, cause this Trojan team is the best college football team I have ever seen, and that inculdes the 95 Huskers.
Also where are all those PAC10 haters now? I remember people blasting me for making a comment about the PAC10 being as strong a confrence as the Big 12, after todays game between UCLA and OU, what do you all have to say?

Could be wrong.. but I think those were Pac-10 officials doing the game ( USC vs Ark). I'll look up the game sheet and let you know.
Second.. I dont think its a reach saying that UCLA can win the Pac-10 this season. Thier offense is very balanced and their defense is very stout and fast. I dont see any other team in the Pac-10 that can honestly play with them besides USC and that's a rival game. So, yes I believe that UCLA has just as good a chance of USC of winning the Pac-10 this season. You say that's laughable but only time will tell.
By the way.. I really didnt think Arkansas was going to go into L.A. and beat USC. That's why I said it was my upset special.. (it was a bigtime reach) like putting that chip on the roullette wheel and spinning on that "one number" and praying.

I watched some of the USC game last night. I will give them this much...they score really fast. Of course it was Arkysaw they were playing. But when that offense is rollin'...they just charge down the field. I also think it will be Reggie Bush (not Leinart) that challenges Vince for the Heisman..or vise versa...He is incredible.

Well there Farmerfan.. I guess someone forgot to tell the Pac-10.
Referee Brian O'Cain, Umprie Doug Wilson, Linesman Edwin Walker, LineJudge Michael Feldman, Backjudge Jeff Sadorus are all Pac-10 officials and they did the game against Arkansas.
Again... I'm not claiming they gave all the calls to USC. I'm saying it sure seemed like alot of calls went to USC (especially in the 1st half). I saw one call for "holding" that someone needs to teach that ref what holding is because if chucking the LB in the Pec's is holding then I forgot the rule and so did the announcers for the game. But, then again maybe Arkansas committed alot of them.
The one thing I always noticed when watching a Pac-10 game. They dont shy away from throwing alot of flags. Even if its two Pac-10 teams playing each other. I think maybe because its the West Coast and the whole Hollywood mentality of " I've got to get on tv" so the "refs" just want that airtime.

Wide...you're my boy, but...
OU's my squad!! They don't suck they're just reloading/rebuilding!!
I liked what I saw in the passing of Rhett Bomar...and I've been saying all along....he runs a 4.4 40....why don't they have him running shotgun-options or QB keepers?....but they finally started yesterday. The line was horrid at pass blocking...run blocking is ok, but will get have to get alot better! Adrian is suffering, right now, but I think he will hang in there...this season he'll finish with 1500 yds and 17 tds...250 yds receiving for 4 tds. Next year he'll be a Heisman hopeful again. (But most likely will lose out to,this year, to Reggie Bush.)
The turnovers and mental mistakes are killing OU. You can't have 6 fumbles in a game, and expect to win. With as many turnovers and mental mistakes OU had, USC would have beaten them 75-24. Honestly, I don't think UCLA is awesome, they're very good, though...but not spectacular. They had plenty of help from OU and their constant mental mistakes and turnovers.
(Oh and Wide, if UT makes it to the Rose Bowl and they play against USC, the way they played against OSU....they'll get beat 55-19. OSU was held 5 times when UT gave them the ball on their side of the field, or had a turnover inside their own 20. USC will score nothing but td's. They won't be settling for field goals, like OSU. But I agree, as of now...Georgia, UT, ND and UCLA are the only teams that have a chance at beating USC.)

Ya.. no kidding. UCLA is probably one of the top #2 teams in the Pac-10 this season (toss up with USC) and Oklahoma probably is about #6 in the Big-12. Plus played out in La-La land to boot. So, I'm glad UCLA could beat them especially after (6 Oklahoma turnovers).

Oklahoma's not that far away from having the "light come on" and being back in the top #25.
I'm just hoping that "light stays off" for the Texas game.
Its hard to lose 11 players to the NFL draft and sustain some key starting injuries and still be a top #25 team. Not many teams can do that.. even teams called USC, Oklahoma , Miami or Texas.

11 Starters lost in the 2005 NFL Draft....
An experienced potentially starting QB transfers...
2 returning offensive-line, projected starters leave the team two months ago..
A reshirt freshman is your starting QB...
The offensive line is make-shift...with one experienced lineman & 2 freshmen
You have 3 seniors on your defense, and none were starting last year....
Every defense this year will stack 8 or 9 in the box and dare you to run, with a new o-line and "green" QB, OU will be lucky to finish 7-4....if not 6-5!
But hopefully they'll get better as the year goes on, so that next year...wow! Look out in 2006!!

there are pluses and minuses to playing d2 colleges
a plus is u build depth by having ur 2nd and 3rd string play
a minus is that it doesnt really help get you ready for conference play

I agree, things are starting to click for Bomar, but if he keeps on going helmet to helmet with linebackers like he did yesterday, his season will come to an abrupt end before he starts to enjoy some success. He got HAMMERED a few times yesterday!

That reciever probably should've made a bit more effort to try and dive for it or something instead of just chasing it. But I guess he couldn't....they did make a great showing in OT though.

His o-line must gel. Also, he needs to get more called runs. That will help create one on one match-ups, when teams will have to start bringing their safeties up, for containment. Also, he'll have to adjust to the speed, agility and hard-witting on the d1 collegiate level.
But I liked his tenacity and his mental toughness. He seemed like the only player that looked as if he wanted to play.
He has the package though...4.4 speed and a powerful are. Good, tight, spirals on his passes. He's getting better, week in and week out. And now that OU knows what they want to go with as far as their O-Line is concerned they can mold as a unit. Their defense needs to re-kindle that overall "OU" swagger....hit opponents in the mouth. Strip balls and make every player who catches the ball pay for it.
They've definitely got the talent. And remember they still have the #1 ranked d-tackle in High school last year, Demarcus Granger. (Dallas Kimball)
I like what I see! Except the fumbles and mistakes.

They also have J.D. Quinn, OL from Garland. He is a redshirt freshman listed at 6-3 and 305. I thought he would be getting more playing time by now, but he is listed 2nd in their depth chart behind a senior.
