Please forgive the misspelling of the word "mock". That's what happens when you get in a hurry.

I read somewhere that Greg Blache doesn't believe in taking Dlineman high. (This is for Washington, btw)

Man, I struggled with Washington's pick. Most mock drafts have them going after a DT... either Okoye or Alan Branch. I think they could end up trading down for more picks, but as of right now, I don't know where else to go.

I saw a scenario that seemed pretty good. They traded for both of New England's picks will New England got Laron landry and Washington picked up a DE and DT.
But I really doubt a Dlineman being taken by Washington. Personally I wouldn't mind a guy like Alan Branch but I'm getting wary of him and someone like Okoye is pure potential. The draft is an absolute crap shoot.

I think dallas will take a db/wr in the 1st round. I would be pissed if they took moss in the first.

What's up with Pozluzny? He was all-world last year. I know Willis has vaulted past him, and deep first ain't bad - but I thought he was projected even higher had he come out in '06 (after '05)?

Penn State switched to a 3-4 defense last year and Puz went from playing OLB in a 4-3 scheme his first three years to playing MLB in the 3-4 scheme his senior season. His production dropped some as he made the transition and because of that, his stock slipped a bit, but he showed tremendous promise playing in the middle of a 3-4 and he fits New England's style perfectly.

Who else would they take? There's been some speculation that they could draft Ginn and I could see that, but I don't know who else they would take. Carriker should be off the board otherwise they might go after him. They could go after Meachem or Bowe, but that would be a bit of a stretch. They need TE help, but they can address that in later rounds with Olson, Patrick, Chandler, Newton or Miller. They could also get WR help later. Lynch is a legit premier back in the league and can make an immediate impact as a runner and receiver. In other words, out of their biggest needs, RB is probably has the least depth in this draft... at least for primary #1 RBs.

I would rather have Blalock in the first more than Moss.

I can't see Dallas with another OLB/DE,as far as i'm concerned. It would be nice if they can select a DB.

There are a lot of ways Dallas can go, but I don't think Blalock is one of them. If they go O-line, I would look for them to use that first round pick on Joe Staley. They could also address the secondary going after Ross or Houston. Thing is, nobody really likes Ellis at OLB and they want Carpenter to stay inside. I think that means Moss or Spencer from Purdue. They have had Spencer at Valley Ranch already so that may be a sign they are looking his direction.

You kidding?? I love Ellis at OLB. Haven't you noticed how when he is injured, or not in the game that our rush defense goes WAY down? He is an excellent run stopper, and when he was playing we got plenty of pressure on the QB. What happened when he went down? We didn't get hardly any pressure because they could focus completely on Ware. Trust me, Ellis is more important to this defense than you think at OLB.

By the way, where is Texas CB Brown? Isn't he projected to go in the 2nd round? Just wondering...

Greg Ellis is almost 32 years old with 10 NFL seasons under his belt. He is far from a long term solution and it would be wise to bring in a young guy that can learn under and split time with Ellis.

Ok i understand that. I thought you were trying to say Ellis isn't good at all. Sorry I just took it another way. But yeah I agree, he isn't a long term solution at 32 years old. His experience and talent would be great for a young OLB to learn from. However, I don't think I would use a first rounder on it this year. A second round pick I would, but in the first round I would like to see the Cowboys take a CB or DT. Jason Fergeson is 34 years old, and is on a pair of bad knees.

No, he's good, but he's got maybe 2 years left in him. They also need to address the NT position, but unless Alan Branch falls to them, there really is no NT worth taking in round 1.

Blalock is very versatile. He could back up virtually every position on the offensive line. I just think there is no way dallas goes olb/de in the first unless one of the tope DE's fall. I would trade down before taking Moss at 22. I am a little afraid of some of his injuries also.

I started thinking about this mock draft, and I can't see the Cowboys taking another linebacker. They have taken an OLB in the first round the past 2 years in a row (DeMarcus Ware/Bobby Carpenter), and another second round OLB in 2005 (Kevin Burnett). They also signed 2 ILB last year with a combined worth of 13 million dollars in signing bonuses (Bradie James/Akin Ayodele). I just can't see them spending more big bucks on another linebacker this year. Maybe a 3rd rounder or in the later rounds, but not in the first 2. IMO.
I got this information from Dallascowboys.com

Do you think they will go after any CB's or Safeties? Wasnt that a weak spot for them last year?

I despise the guy, but one of the best players they could take would be Brandon Merriweather from Miami. The guy is a thug in every sense of the word, but he is also a legit CB/S hybrid that could play safety along side Evil Roy Williams and truly give Dallas a pass defender at the safety position.

I don't care how good a guy is, if he is a thug, I don't want him on my team. At least thats the way I would think if I was a team owner. Especially with the commissioner and his new policies for troubled players. I would hate to spend a 1st round pick on someone that could get suspended at any given time. Plus, the Cowboys signed Ken Hamlin, who was a good FS for the Seahawks. I think the Cowboys should try to get one of these 3 players; CB Chris Houston, CB/KR/PR Aaron Ross, or WR Robert Mechem. We need one more solid CB and some youth at the WR position. Someone that could possibly step in as a starter if Terry Glenn or T.O. get injured, or when one of them start showing their age. Mechem is a heck of an athlete, and has excellent size and speed. I wouldn't be disapointed if he landed a spot on the Cowboys roster.
