Atascocita has done some tremendous things with NO SENIORS.
List of Accomplishments:
Quarter Finals in Soccer.
Battling out For Second place in Baseball (Trying to Clinch their playoff berth)
Place 3rd in Girls Track
And have C. LaCour Qualified for the 110 Meter Hurdles...and has the areas Fastest time 13.93
Dean Colbert is actually doing a Pretty Good job (as Athletic Coor. for AHS)
I defiantly see them emerging as an Area Power in football with in the next couple years... They have a Tremendous Talent pool to draw from and a rapid Growing area and a Terrific Coaching staff.
Im impressed.
But not surprised...

Not really. The summerwood area is still under heavy Development and hasn't really grown to the size that it will in 2009(time SHS will be completed). Atascoctia was estimated to grow to 6300 Hundred kids before SHS was voted on(reason for new hs)..
Both Schools will start at about 3150 in 2009...and as you can tell, those Numbers are pretty good for a school that is essentially going to be split.
Summerwood is going to be a power as well in the 5a Texas Football World as soon as they are established.
It will be fun to see if NS can get in on all the action over the next 4-6 years
My dream:
21-5a
North shore
Humble
Atascocita
Summerwood
Kingwood
Baytown Sterling
Channelview
Humble will regain its ground in Number in the next 2 years with the massive development taken place in OUR portion of Atascocita. Somewhere around the lines of 3500 by 09.
Atascocita is going to be a VERY good football school. The talent pool around the northern and eastern portion of the beltway is unbelievable. They have GREAT facilites and just excellent coaches from head to toe
(Schools around beltway: IKE, Westfield, NS, and Humble)
Summerwood will share the same type of talent as Humble, Atascocita and NS..But probably more similar to Humble and NS. You better believe that coaches are going to be going crazy about coming to SHS
Kingwood Seems to have found a system that works for them..they have superb Baseball and soccer talent...But Football is lacking. But the Triple option should even the playing field some.
NS- always great coaching and Great talent.
Sterling- eh... You cant have a Great district without the pushovers.
Channelveiw- look above.
Its an exciting time for the Beltway (Humbleisd) area regarding potential. Pretty nice area as well.

its amazing how well they have done at atascocita HS.... but whats even more amazing is in reading that humble isd newsletter thats sent to the communities it mentioned that atascocita is already being pushed to the limit as far as building size...... the school looks huge....i live right in front of it...and to be close to student capacity so early is mind boggling:eek:

Lee will be 4A more than likely which is probably why he didn't list them in the district.

You are correct...I wish they were still in 5a because it would make for a much more competitive district.

They have almost reached full capacity...and they only have 3 grade levels as of right now...Add another 700-800 kids next year...with the addition of the growth in Summerwood and fall creek:eek:- Which is the reason they need that 6th high school... Atascocita will probably get to about 3500-4000 students AFTER the split. (Summerwood as well)
Humble will also grow significantly over the summer... Neighborhoods like Woodland pines, Laurel lace, Atascocita Trace, Black stone creek, and Park lakes are growing at tremendous rates.
Kingwood is probably sitting at a student pop. of about 4000 right now and after Kingwood Park opens it will be somewhere about 3200 kids.(Kingwood Park will be 4a)
Atascocita is a BEAUTIFUL school... and they have such great facilites.. Too Playa did you take a tour of the school when they opened it to the public.. Really REALLY nice.

atascocita went 1-9....but they had ALL juniors/underclassmen and actually threw the ball VERY well against quality oponents. they have a good rb in jeremy braden who can do it all, although a little on the smaller side. they have two wr's (valdez) that are very good and the qb (tatman) is tall, strong arm, and can read defense, and a great kid. the db's are fast but need more size and lb auzenne is a big strong sold tackler. throw in a great HC in dean colbert and the OC who came over from ft. bend dulles knows how to throw the ball around! very impressed with that program and expect good things around there done the right way!

Atascocita high school is gorgeous. Humble ISD is known for building dull, bland looking school buildings but this time they out did themselves. The baseball team is doing very well. I can't opine on the football team yet. I will see after this season and, football is king. No winning football team, no one remembers you. I also think NS should be in that district. How fun that would be. The only problem for me is when they play at Turner. The visiting team fans get the shaft trying to get out of the parking lot when the game is over.:D Also, what's this talk of Lee going 4A? Someone enlighten me.
