I want to go on record as saying that I think Lufkin is a great team that will only get better. I am not too proud to think that we can't be beat. If we lose a game that does not mean that we won't get better after the loss because in past seasons when we lost in regular season games we managed to bounce back and get better and then make deep playoff runs. Our team is not invincible but we still have a great team. I thought that on any given night last season that a team could have pulled off an upset win against us but that did not happen and our only loss was to SLC in the simi-final game. I am not saying that I thought Lufkin would lose during regular season but I know that anything is possible and freaky things happen in football sometimes.
I just want to make sure that no matter what happens to Lufkin this year there won't be anybody accusing me of claiming that we are invincible or saying that we can't be beat. And if we win it all I won't be on here saying "I told you we would go all the way and win it." I felt the same way even the year we won state and the last 3 seasons as well. I know of a couple of people on here that feel their team is invincible after only 3 games. Well like I said before, I am impressed with good and great teams, but talk to me after you win the Title and then I will be more impressed. Words are meaningless especially after only three weeks of football. I sense there will be some suprises coming in the next several weeks for those who feel their team is invincible. I am not talking about one team either but several teams. ENOUGH OF THE HYPE!!!! SHOW ME THE FINAL RESULTS IN DECEMBER!!!! SHOW ME THE RING!!!!

Are you one who thinks your team is invincible? If not then I was not referring to you. I also did not mean that no one could talk to me. I am referring to someone talking like there is no way their team can be beat. If they want to talk like that I have to see them go undefeated and then I will say "great team, great season, great Title win." So everything is just TALK untill we see the FINAL RESULTS. Other then that there are a lot of great teams in 5A football right now. No it does not mean I am leaving the board till January. Do you want me to or something? I am just fine where I am at thank you very much.

I never said anything about Lufkin fans or the Panthers. I was referring to some other fans that supposedly "KNOW" that their team can't be beat. I have never seen any post from a Lufkin fan who thinks we are unstoppable, or can't be beat. I am not saying there is not someone on here from Lufkin that has posted that but I do know that knowledgable fans such as you, PackAttack, Widey and a whole bunch of others have not said anything like that. Bragging about how good a team is one thing but talking about your team and making them sound unstoppable, and invincible is another. All I am saying is I would rather see the final results in December. It is not like I am trying to get people to stop bragging about their team so I don't know what you are thinking. I don't consider this deep compared to some of the posts I have seen on here from some of the other members in this forum including you. It is just a statement on my thoughts about our team and that of some posters on this forum. Nothing wrong with that huh....

Well since you read that thread then you should know where I was coming from. It has nothing to do with not being able to deal with some of the messages posted on here. Believe me I have been through much more in my 34yrs than most people on this board so I think I can handle some of the mess that is posted on here from time to time.

Obviously Lufkin has been successful in the past and has tremendous talent. And don't get me wrong, I have respect for the program. But there is a difference in being proud of your team and some of the Lufkin postings.

For example, the topic of a post could be the valley game of the week and a Lufkin poster, usually pack0808, will somehow throw in how Lufkin would have come in and destroyed both teams or that the Lufkin had already topped the accomplishment of the other teams.

Not saying you are disrespectful, just boastful.

And I am not new to this board I have been posting for a couple of years, but while away from the country this board changed over and I lost my user name :mad:

Maybe it is because Lufkin has not lost to a Houston area team in almost 5 years?? They have won 13 in a row vs Houston area school's since 2001. Their last loss to a Houston area school was in 2000 to IKE and they have beaten Ike 5 times in a row since then to make up for it in a huge way.

Here is what they have done to Houston area school's since 2001

Lufkin will need to play better Friday night to beat Klein Forest - and I believe they will.

KF is a good team that is typically very undisciplined and they travel poorly. LP realizes after Friday they can't punch in a district title -- I believe the Pack will take care of business in a physical game Friday night.
