I think San Antonio should get a hockey team because Dalllas has the stars, cowboys, mavs, desperados, and fc dallas, plus the texas rangers (arlington). houston has rockets, texans, astros, dynamo, and I think I'm missing one but I don't know.

San Antonio has the Spurs, and the Silver Stars if you count them but you know.

Ya and SA has the Rampage that play the Aeros but that doesn't count. If you want to get into that there wll be a longggggg list of teams and I would have to start including Autin so I guess I'll start.

jeremy Roenick and Darian Hatcher had been going at it all game. The Coyotes were killing Modano and not getting called for any penalties. the Stars were already on the short end of a Powerplay. This is how you answer a guy that tells you, "quit crying to the refs and handle it like a man." I think he understood Hatcher's answer after this.

This is why fighting in hockey should stay in the game. protect your stars, and don't let anyone "take liberties out there on the ice."

Hockey season is over in Texas. Marty Turdco rides again. His lasting legacy with me is losing the 4th longest game ever while I was deployed to Afghanistan and the 6th longest game ever while I'm deployed to Kuwait. For the record, I was living in South Korea and listening to the 3rd longest game ever at work and I was living in Delaware for the 5th longest game, watching it on TV, and I almost went to the game.

Dallas will be done in no more than 5 games and I'm a Stars fan. For the record, the Dead Wings won't be winning either.

The San Angelo Outlaws played in the WPHL from 1997 to 2001 and the CHL during 2001-2002. The city, for fear of a successful program, ran off the founder and owner by drilling the team on coliseum use and concessions. The name was changed, in typical government fashion, to the kinder and gentler San Angelo Saints…

My Dad was stationed at Camp Carrol in Daegu (spelling?) but it was funny because my dad graduated from CC Carrol and we thought it was ironic he got stationed there...Anyways we always took trains up to Seoul and while in Daegu (again Speelling?) we got to see the fastest World cup goal ever.

I was in Pusan (Busan), South Korea from 1997-2001. I've been to Camp Carroll in Waegwan (North of Taegu/Daegu) many times. Unfortunately, I had to leave right before the World Cup and I lived about 3 miles away from the Pusan World Cup stadium.

As far as Kuwait goes, twice to the northernmost Air Force base.

I still don't know why you don't like hockey. I figured you would. It's fast and there are lots of hard hits. They shoot pucks up to 100 MPH and it's non-stop action. Unlike the other sports, they let you fight and you don't get suspended. Wide, I figured you'd appreciate that!:D

Sports work a lot like the military. It's much easier to maneuver in the air than it is on the ground. Basketball is an airborne sport on a shorter field of play (Court) and has the most scoring. Baseball has a huge playing area and is both airborne and on the ground. On average it has the 2nd most scoring happening. Football is over a large area and most people would think it was a lot more boring if they didn't have inflated scoring numbers. We don't give out 2 points for touchdowns and 1 point for a field goal. We give out 7 with an extra point and 3 on the field goals. The number of times somebody actually scores in football is less than baseball in many cases.

That leads to soccer and hockey. Soccer is an action-filled (Not like the others with many stoppages) sport (Wide, I know you'll say soccer isn't a sport either!) played on the ground. You're limited to a scoring area that's 20 or 24 feet wide and 8 feet high and the rules keep you from cherry-picking.

Hockey has a net that's 6 feet wide and 4 feet high and a guy always standing in front of it. It's not easy to shoot that puck fast and skate with people trying to knock you down and hit you into boards. The hockey playoffs are so great because it's a battle of attrition. You have long overtime games and have to keep your focus or risk losing. One mistake kills you and you have to fight through the pain to win and then come back strong 2 days later.

I honestly don't know why more people don't like watching it. yes it's more intense than anything baseball can do. The Superbowl is pretty anticlimactic IMO, I actually enjoy the conference championships more. Basketball doesn't get close.
Watching hockey gets me on the edge of the seat for 60 minutes(game clock) of mele and digging and scrapping for every shot and guys repeatedly giving up their bodies to stop shots. Goalies pull their best Houdinis to keep their teams on top. Just imagine the 9th inning of a 1 or 2 run game with 2 people on base, except it is that intense for the whole game.
Football is easily my favorite. But hockey is 2nd with me, and I yell and moan/ groan with every shot on goal, each big hit, and every miraculous save.
Like I said, I really don't understand why more people don't like it. Go to a gam in person, or watch a playoff series with someone who can teach you the game, and you'll be hooked too!

And yes I've been to a few games in person...it's much better that way.

If the Stars make the finals, which they won't, I'd probably watch a little. I watched the Stars first goal last night - and was actually interested for about 10 minutes after that.

We've proven as a nation we don't need hockey -end of story. ESPN has more interest right now in Arena football than in hockey.

If the Stars make the finals, which they won't, I'd probably watch a little. I watched the Stars first goal last night - and was actually interested for about 10 minutes after that.

ESPN has more interest in MLS also.

Better than the ALCS,NLCS, World Series....NFL playoffs...NBA finals???
c'mon man....not really is it?

The ratings don't reflect that...in fact it ain't even close.
You could put up a picture of flys having sex and get better ratings than the Stanley Cup finals.
Yes, it's better than all of those. Teams don't play almost perfect games in the NFL, MLB, or NBA, but you sometimes can play an almost perfect hockey game and still lose. I would think you'd like hockey. People don't watch hockey because they don't understand the rules and most people don't play hockey. That has nothing to do with the quality.
