hit a ball to second base and absolutely trot halfway down the line...

The only thing in sports that pisses me off more than not running out a hit is a RB running out of bounds to avoid being hit.
Damn that gets on my nerves.

Millions of dollars and you can't run out a f'n grounder? I would bench his [censored].

One thing that pisses me off more is running out of beers...

That has never happened to me so I can't sympathize.

What if the 2nd baseman bobbles it? What if there's a bad throw and Cecil Fielder Jr. actually has to move his fat[censored] 2ft off the bag to catch it?

Run out the freaking hit!!!!

I always believed that a player should get an average base salary with incentives like hustle and hitting well and minimal errors. The incentives would be paid at the conclusion of the season. I would bet you would see a heck of a lot more hustle. These guys have guaranteed money whether they play worth a damn or not. I get so tired of the premadonnas

Couldn't agree with you more DawgFan...
I've said that exact same thing for years. You get paid for what you do...not what you "might" do.

May be that his scrotum was frozen to his left leg...

Ask the Cubbies if they care - probably not. Lou may get on his case - that would be nice - can't wait until Lou has a classic Lou meltdown.

Unfortunately, Soriano isn't the first that I've seen do this. One thing I can't stand is when guys hit a fly ball to the outfield, but yet, like you said earlier Wide, they trot to first base. What if the outfielder drops the ball? If they hustle like they get paid to do, they could easily end up with extra bases off of those dropped fly balls.
