Can anyone tell me about this area and this High School? A family member of mine was recently offered an assistant coach position and I had not heard much about their program. I wanted to help him out but I didnt know much about much...any help?

I have family in Pasadena. They have lived there for years. The area has changed a lot over the years.
Back when I was in HS, Rayburn HS was fed by some of the more affluent areas of Pasadena. I couldn't find a feeder map, but here is a link to a map of the school district.

Being in Pasadena I would say it's a majority Hispanic.

It's always a race for 2nd 3rd and 4th in that district...looks like it's gonna be that way for a while. I don't see North Shore dropping off.

I hope my cuz takes the job. He is from the midwest and he always told me how jealous he was that I got to play Texas High School football. Right now he coaches a d-3 or d-2 college team....well he is an assistant.

He's in for a treat. Texas high school football is serious stuff. As you may have seen, It's a religeon here. You sink or swim and there ain't no room for whiners, crybabies or the politically correct!:D

My wife graduated from there in '75. Their football teams have always sucked.

He can go to the TEA website and look at what's called the AEIS report. It breaks down the racial categories and he can also take a look at how they do academically. It's probably one of the better high schools in the district. The neigborhoods that surround the high school are older and several high schools share one stadium. There's 4 or 5 high schools. Their newest school I believe opened 3 or 4 years ago. They (I think it's called Pasadena Memorial) might have a fair football team in a couple of years from what I hear.
