All football, jokes, m&a vs. t.u. stuff aside....
Let's get serious.
Here's a question my little sister asked me this morning
"Bubba, what is the purpose of life?"
What is your theory, opinion, etc. Let's try to have at least one intellectual thread this month.

Well, biologically speaking, the purpose of life is to procreate and keep your desirable traits going. However, the human race has such a profound intellect and social interactions that in our own individual existences, we have our own meanings for life. Some people can dedicate themselves to a single goal or purpose-music, art, medicine, philosphy, religion-they may be workaholics or simply passionate. I think these people are rare. Personally, I don't forsee any great passion in my life that I spend every waking moment to achieve. I like a wide variety of things, sports, cars, technology, and of course the ladies. I think the average person doesn't have a singular "meaning of life" but I think every person has reason to live. Just my $0.02.

The purpose of life is to try every day to make the world a better place.
Thus far I am failing miserably.

What happens when the world is perfect? What will be the purpose of life be in heaven then?

Is life ment to achieve something material? Or an overall more valuable spiritual goal? I believe life is an ultimate test, it's up to us 100% to decide if we pass it or not.

Is it really wise to entertain such deep philosophical questions at 9:13 on a Friday night?

No, but at 9:23 it is.:D
Without questions, the world would be pointless right? I don't feel like being pointless, no matter the time.

I think every person has to answer that for themselves. Some would say that money is what would make them happy, so I guess that would be their goal. For some money is not necessary, for others, they get lots of it simply doing what they love (musicians,etc.). Not every person is spiritual so I don't know that there is a psiritual goal for everyone. This is too fluid a concept to be able to blanket over the human race.

The purpose of my life is to work like a dog - and hand over every friggin' penny I make to others - but they tell me they love me. Well, the IRS doesn't, but they love my money.

At least you make a stab at there being a point in life. I don't understand people who's theory is "Whatever happens - happens." You may not be religious or not, but I can "feel" feelings inside of me that tell me that there is more in life than being a "musician" or a "football player". etc. These are great things, in fact, but just material. They're things we as humans put with ourselves, and should embrace them. But I think more importantly we should embrace the things we didn't create, or evolve with, whatever you want to believe.

Well I can appreciate the whatever happens happens motto for dealing with things outside your control, but when its your career path or choosing you hobbies or whatever you want to do (your personal meaning), i agree with you. Im not sure if thats what you were getting at...
