What do you Texas Fans and Coaches know about the Tom Landry Classic? I heard about this classic today at work. Just wondering what information can be found about this classic.

Otherwise known as the hoter than hell bowl. Last year it was Garland vs Allen, and Highland Park vs Waxahatchi. Could be the same this year.

Usually played at Ford Field on the SMU campus in Dallas. I am hearing that it will be at Texas Stadium this year due to scheduling conflicts. Set as a double header with 5A teams first and then 4A teams. The teams have been as Grayowl60 said.

Grayowl60 is right on the mark, It is the hotter than hell bowl. This was especially true for the visiting team since they have had to take the full brunt of the afternoon sun. Air circulation that time of year and in Ford Field is not very good.

The air circulation at Texas Stadium will be terrible as well.

Why do you ask?

This particular owl fan is not happy about going to play at Texas Stadium in August. November is fine - August, not so much. Be prepared to sweat off about 8 pounds.

At least we have a chance to cleanse our memories from the last game we played there... :-)

It is possible that Evangel may play there in 09 or 2010, the promoters were asking about 08 but we are scheduled to play Westgate on that date as we honor the second year of a 2 year deal. I am still waiting on hearing official word from the Herbstreit Classic whom we are playing this fall. We signed a contract with them last fall to play this Labor Day Weekend.

Never is a nice time to play in Texas Stadium.
The only reason it is tolerable is because there is some great HS playoff football played there in Nov and Dec.

Are you sure it wasn't Lewisville and Mesquite? They both look like Plano. :)
