Ok, Phi Slamma Jamma never won the title - so what. The University of Houston squad from 1982-84 is the most jaw-dropping, awesome basketball team ever assembled.

UCLA 1972. End of discussion. 30-0. Won their games by an average of 32 points. From '72-'74 they went 86-4 with 2 titles. Come on.

Walton scores 44 in the final and doesn't miss a shot. Big deal - he had zero dipsy-doo facial dunks like Phi Slamma Jamma. And, his nickname, whatever it was, was lame too.

Actually -- outside of the Cowboys and James Street's Horns - my favorite team as a child of any sport - was UCLA bball - '69 to the final Wooden title in '75.

Any of the UCLA teams during their dominance which will never occur again. don't forget the under talented last undefeated NCAA I team in 1976 who would have won it all in 1975 as well except for an injury to Scotty May.
