Most of us are former graduates...as far back as the 60s. Some are recent grads. I don't think anyone has played (I know I didn't considering I'm female). I'm a former teacher in Galena Park ISD and a graduate. We are just fans that love our team and have a blast with one another. I'm the mom on the board and I have to stay on here to keep all these boys and men in line. We are the Mustangs adopted parents and I don't THINK any of us have had kids on the team.

"....and then there were four." I want to say at this point I congratulate
all the 5A teams in the Final Four of each division. Win or lose, they are all Region champions and would not be there without the hardwork and motivation they've displayed so far. In two weeks the season will be over and there will be a new champion. At the season start I would've never thought my Mustangs would be in this game either.

I agree with you. At that Aldine game, you were kinda like...AHH!!!
But you know what, it's about the process during the season to reach the playoffs and hopefully the state championship. The Mustangs have come a long way and have improved!

They really have and they are playing a different brand of ball at this point. All season the offense carried them but against HT it was the D that stepped up. The process has matured the whole team into a solid contender. I also think they have mentally adjusted to the caliber of their competition so we won't see another game like SH or KW (although the offense sagged in the first half last week).

HAHA OMG! Me too! I'm ready! Honestly I don't think this yr. will be the yr. though... but they alwayz say the best things are those that r unexpected... or something like that. They also say hope for the best, but prepare for the worst. So I hope we have @ least another season like 96 or 01, but I'll prepare for 1 worse than last season.
I remember seeing the players in 03 and thinking how big they were. I think now that's what NS is lacking is the size advantage, b/c they have the talent no doubt. I'd be willing to bet if every class that came through NS had boys the size of 03 or even just a tad smaller we wouldn't have stopped @ the 2nd round in especially in 05 and 06. From what I've heard we have some more big ones coming via the fish class but that could all be talk. I know I ran into a girl @ Kroger who had on her CMS basketball uniform and she was almost bigger than me. I hope the boys in her class are the same way.

My day was good but tiring. We hosted a big Christmas event for all our special needs students in Goose Creek.....several hundred. They all had a blast. It definitely puts your life back into perspective, esp. when you see little ones in wheelchairs with only one leg and arm as well as many other things....they still smile though and they are still happy!

I missed the first 2 games that were out of town then went to all of the others...
This may be our last game and I dont make it :( plus its in one of the college stadiums which is like a dream of mien to take pics of a game on a college field (other than Texas State)

I was sick after that game for like 2 weeks. I kept saying NS just playing with these boys they gone come back after halftime. Lol I think we only scored once in the 2nd half. It was no doubt in my mind we were going to state again that year.

The one thing I remember about their style of play under Ratlift was that they lined up quicker than any other team in Texas. It was not a no huddle, but when they broke out of their huddle, they almost ran to the line of scimmage and snapped the ball. This forced our defense to really be on their toes and got us out of rythem. I wonder if they still do that after 11 years. One thing we have that they have not seen from us is a complete offense. We had that also in 2003, but Judson could not make the party. The only region 4 team we have played in the last 4 years we beat 49-7. That was Westlake in 03. I know that's ancient history now, but so is judson's 02 title. Every year is different and I'll take my chances with this year's surprising Northshore team. I really like the run defense we showed against Cy Fair and Hightower. Both of those teams had good athletes and were well coached.

i agree.. i really like what our run defense brings to the table.... i think judson will have to pass the ball.... its tough running up the middle.. and we all know how well NS defense gets from sideline to sideline...i just hope the weather cooperates.... :eek:

They run the ball faithfully! In 3 out of the 4 playoff games they averaged 49 rushing attempts and 5 passing attempts. Their qb have only have 1 throwing td thus far in the playoffs. I don't blame them for running the ball so much though. Why pass if no one can stop your running game?

I do Judson is mainly a passing team and can throw when its needed. They threw decent agains La Joya hwen they had major wind probs (it turned a mediocre FG kicker into making a 58 yd FG)

I saw a video today my friend sent me a link to a NS game (cant remember which game) NS has huge kids but they don't seem as fast as Trinity's size. Judson needs to run outside and get outside to make plays...

IDK how many people on NS have experience in a state title but Quinney does...He only kicked 2 XP and IDK if I remember him taking some snaps but he has been there and he can play...He has improved and is working with a healthy team that is ready and focused...Judson!!!! Rockets!!!

They threw alot at the end of the 1st half against SW but they did it risky because Quinney had a shoulder injury....Judson's backs are great and win or lose we will still have a great team next season!

My husband said if I'd buy him a trailer he'd do briskets for us next year but I'd have to find a way to get the smoker to the parking lot. That be a nice flavor before a game.

I went and got tickets today and talked with some of the staff. They said this team was alot like PL...their boys weren't as big as Hightower.

They said the media has been at the school all week and Coach was really having to keep the boys focused on final exams...parents too.

Don't you know they are having fun? I'm so happy for them. This team never thought they'd be here right now.

After reading various threads and posts by NS posters, I'm impressed with the class and the knowledge of the game that NS posters have demonstrated. Oh, I'm sure you may have a poster or two like we do who makes debating interesting or sarcastic at times. I've been guilty of the latter once in awhile. I read where some NS posters are a little surprised that NS is doing a lot better than pre-season projections. The Mustangs looked pretty good to me in their 1st 4 games, and now, well, they are playing very good football. Rockets have been improving drastically each week since playoffs began. For the first time this season, we played four quarters of football in the win over Reagan. The potential is there for a chance at another semifinal championship for Judson. Now, if you will only cooperate, so we can have the opportunity to go for "7 in 07"-----but NS also wants to play in the big show. Anyway, GL Saturday, and change the weather prediction.

Yeah, we have good posters and fans and really don't get ugly. I'm the only woman on here so I guess I kind of baby the team and hate seeing them get hurt (and I do know football is a contact sport) haha! I'm defensive but my fellow posters are teaching me. Yes, we want to play in 07 too so we can't accommodate. Have a safe trip...wish we could change forecast!

good post.. and i agree.. we were hoping for a good season...but we had everything in place last year except we didnt have such a dynamic QB to run the offense.... so with a change in such an important position.. its always hard to predict....but we have slowly come a long and improved..... you guys have done the same... people try to harp on your record.... and the 4 losses... but you guys are here for a reason..we all know that..im sure there have been many persons picking against you the entire playoff season...but you didnt get this far by being lucky..you guys are obviously the real deal and we would expect nothing less from the judson program.....there is no outlandish boasting on this side.... records dont mean anything anymore.... its whoever is playing the best football .... and whomever can execute... judson and NS have just a good a chance at taking home the title as anyone....so i know we are not taking this game lightly....we are taking it like the previous 4 playoff games.... businesslike...hope the weather cooperates so it doesnt become a factor in the equation.... i know most of us are glad we are playing such a high profile program in judson.... it makes for a better atmosphere...... we will come with everything we have... and thats all both teams can do.... hopefully there are no injuries ....and that everyone gets to and from the game safely......:eek:

Thanks and well said diamond J. No one from NS that I know of wants to taunt or verbally denigrate the opponent. We've all seen how that can come back to haunt you. We've discovered you can talk about the game itself and really get insight into the other fans if the posts are kept on an adult level. The CyFair fans are some of the best we've encountered. We're all in a state of of mesmerized euphoria about our Mustangs this year. Just getting this far is a Christmas present that we never thought would happen this year. As too playa said, we have the highest respect for the Judson program and know this will be a hard hitting, bring all your guns and ammo contest. This is Texas High School Football at it's best and NS and Judson are part of it.

Strong running game on offense. And on defense stop the run. They will not run blitz near as much as Hightower did. But they bring their safties up in the box. From what I heard at the athletic office yesterday they have been practicing, fighting off the media, trying to stay focused on grades and final exams. I'm sure Coach A has a good handle on it all and knows exactly what he's doing to prepare for this game. I love having him as our coach!

Wow, what a huge, athletic NS OL. Good size and good speed and does a good job staying with blocks. Weaknesses--can't run backwards very fast. Very impressive size. QB seems to be the whole VY package: run & pass. Receivers will face a fairly good Judson secondary who is averaging 1 pick per game and a defense that has scored in 3 of the 4 playoff games and set up 3 other scores. Judson has improved tremendously in pursuit and tackling since the playoffs began. Sometimes, the Rockets have had trouble with a QB of McGinity's caliber. Rockets have made some good adjustments on defense throughout the playoffs. Hopefully, the adjustments and focus can slow down the galloping Mustangs.

Hello MUSTANG fans. Well we made it to Friday. I proudly wore my MUSTANG NATION shirt today and even had several people at Region IV come up to me today and wish our boys lots of luck.

We are taking some beatings on some of the other threads, one poster even said we were classless, and we didn't teach our kids correctly. I am glad to be a MUSTANG fan and I'm proud of my kids.

We have to play our best football or else just like so many other teams across the state we'll be watching the title game on TV. And what ever we may or may not think about our oppoent the fact that they are still in this thing says they aren't going to be a push over. Of course they should be thinking the same thing about us. I for one hope Daniel has a big game as well as the rest of the Mustang D. If they can take care of business on their end and give the offense some good field position then it'll make things that much easier for Big Mac and the boy's to do their part.

horrible game by our offense.... jeremiah could not hit the broad side of a barn today... maybe the 30+ mph swirling wind gusts had something to do with it? i dont know... and johnson giving judson 2 tds .... just a horrible game by our offense and special teams... our defense played lights out.. we actually outgained judson..and had more first downs.... but it was our offense and special teams turning the ball over 4 times in our own territory... that wont cut it.... we saved our worst game of the year for this past weekend.... i wish we would have represented our region a little better than we did..but it was a good run...and was fun while it lasted.... we have next year to look forward to...a good nucleus returning... on both sides of the ball......just need to find a replacement QB and we should be set on another good run next year.....:eek:

No shame here our boys played their hearts out. Turnovers absolutely killed us though. Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe Judson scored off of all 4 turnovers. Defense did a great job and really kept us in the game but the offense just couldn't find that big play to swing momentum our way. Great season I'm already looking forward into next year. Alright North Shore Fans -- we just wrapped up the season today on an, honestly, unexpected note...STATE SEMIS! I a proud on the progress of this team since game one and how they were able to take it this far. I think it's a big deal to be the final four -- anything can go not matter what...does not matter if you're 6-4, 9-1, or 10-0. We have some more pretty good seasons ahead of us with some great returning talent and talent from the freshman/JV teams that will step up. Should be a good ride for the next couple of seasons.

Keep this thing alive and be back in 2008! With that, spread the word about this board! We had great NS fans this season on here, LETS BUILD and REPRESENT even MORE!

Well I am brokenhearted and so disappointed it woke me up this morning at 2:45 thinking about a horrible game...our mistakes got us yesterday!

I am however proud of our boys, our coaches, our fans, and our faithful, classy posters on here. We came into this season not having alot of faith in our boys but look how far we came...they proved us wrong with a 14-1 record.

All of you on here have become some of my very best friends even though I've never met you. I've enjoyed the Cy-Fair and Katy fans this year and they have really stood by us! Classy posters and dignified!

Defeat is hard but a part of life. The STANGS are true winners though and I'll know they'll be back next year!

I'm proud to be an alumni and I love ya NS high!

Well I am brokenhearted and so disappointed it woke me up this morning at 2:45 thinking about a horrible game...our mistakes got us yesterday!

I am however proud of our boys, our coaches, our fans, and our faithful, classy posters on here. We came into this season not having alot of faith in our boys but look how far we came...they proved us wrong with a 14-1 record.

All of you on here have become some of my very best friends even though I've never met you. I've enjoyed the Cy-Fair and Katy fans this year and they have really stood by us! Classy posters and dignified!

Defeat is hard but a part of life. The STANGS are true winners though and I'll know they'll be back next year!

I'm proud to be an alumni and I love ya NS high!

A heartbreaking exit it is. I've had the fortune to watch a handful of these kids grow up, and they've become a fine group of young men. It is disappointing to see their final season come to an end like it did when so much effort and sacrifice goes into it. Still, what a season it was. So much more was gained offensively than was originally thought possible by this unit, and the defense showing such tremendous growth throughout the last 3 games of the playoffs was outstanding. Very nice ride Mustangs!

As a football fan I count myself fortunate to have "The Show" in my backyard. You can't get that much Friday night entertainment for $4 anywhere else. As a memeber of the North Shore community it brings us (a wonderfully diverse community) all together with a common interest for at least one night a week, which is invaluable.

As for those of you reading this today. In particular the North Shore fan base in this thread. You are the icing on the cake. Thanks for '07, now bring on '08.

I think Justin Rose said it best last night when one of the local stations interviewed him after the game. He said coming into this season they were all young and inexperienced but they came together and became a family and what a magical family they became. As was said it would be really easy to point fingers at Isiah Johnson and say that he was the reason we lost, but that's just not entirely true. This lose came due to a very uncharacteristic day by this offense in general. We couldn't run and the passing game that we had been pleasantly surprised with just couldn't find its stride. That said I know there are about a hundred or so other team wishing they could have had the kind of season we did and for that we as a team and as fans have to be greatful for what we have. It was a better than expected season and as you guys said we just reload and get the machine ready for next year.

Turnovers indeed will change the game dramitically. Judson found that out in wk 2 against 4A Tivy when they had like 6 TO's and it cost them the game. Judson needed to play mistake free to beat NS and while they had some penalties that killed a couple of drives, they didn't have the big turnovers. NS has a solid team & should be back in the thick of things next year. Good luck!

Sweet post. I've had some of the nicest PMs this morning and they have made me feel better, and I'll just have to get ready for next year. Coach A gave me a neat Mustang shirt last year but I'm too dang fat to wear it.....so I am now preparing for major diet, going to lose a little weight and finally get my pair of Mustang Red Converse shoes and be ready to slip into my Mustang Camp shirt with my cool Red shoes next season!

I don't know. I was thinking about that. You won't find many of us on here blaming the weather. Our 7th grade B team showed up yesterday on offense and that lost us the game...not the weather! Mistakes finally caught up with us! It did make for some more "dead" fans than usual because everyone was too dang cold to get out from under blankets. We actually put two of our drill team members on the ambulance.

I will say I was a little shocked at the Judson followers. I thought they would have had wall to wall fans. I know I would have made the drive to San Antonio and would have thought more of them would have come to Houston!

Anyway, win or lose I am still MUSTANG PROUD and a very proud alumni!

Yes, they were costly as the score indicated. With the way he had been handling punts since the P-land game, you would think the coaches would either make a change or just have him faircatch every kick. Would that have made a difference? We'll never know. But, there were a few other blunders executed yesterday as well.
