NS is very good... As good as i expected them to be in this game. Some great coaching, and alot of solid Div 1 prospects.

Offense: Im impressed with their passing game.. Their Running game is a direct result of that O-line...the O-line was very impressive.

Defense: They left their starters good into the 4th quarter...Which tells me one thing...coach Aymond ain't stupid. Ike passing game (if they had some blocking) would be in the area's top 10...which is really odd. NS defense is a solid unit...it isnt the 03,05, or 06... But they are going to stop people from putting points on the board...and the scary thing is...they are going to get alot better.

I would go ahead and put NS in the top 3 in the Houston area...and Top 15 in the State.

Their Good.

thanks... i think the intensity faded a bit after halftime... but they did look pretty good in the first half.... hopefully we continue and not let the wheels fall off like they did last year....

I think the intensity did fade a bit defensively...

IKE looked pretty flat tonight...Looked as if they already expected to lose the game...But in the second half they brought a little more pep.

IKE is a good 19-5a team...and could turn it up if they had the coaching to motivate those kids... They are very talented... but against a well oiled program machine...on top of some very athletic players...IKE wasnt a good Match up for NS.

I didn't think IKE would be a good match up against a NS team that had a week to correct its mistakes against a Extremely similar Aldine team. Had NS played IKE in the first game of the season...it would of been just as close as the Aldine game. If you would of played Aldine the second week, you would of beat them by pretty much the same margin as IKE.

as for Humble... We were very young and were introducing alot of new guys to Varsity against IKE (which can be an overwhelming experience for a new Varsity player). We will have had 2 weeks two fix our errors before facing off with Jersey village come this Friday.

Things Humble has to fix
Offensive line knowing the play (we have only one returning starter returning on the o-line, and they weren't pulling when they were suppose to..our failing to engage the D-line)

Receivers running the correct routes (we were running to shallow, and weren't setting our plays up right)

Secondary alignment (it caused those 415 yards of air assault, rookie mistakes by our young OLB...who are actually CB... We run a Split D, so we actually only have two LB's)... we had alot of guys out of place because they didn't understand the diffrent reads they were suppose to make...just young mistakes..easy to fix (In other words, clean up the coverage)

Things we do well

We stop the run very well. (75 yards allowed )

We run very very well. Explosive RB and QB duo.

We don't quit.

Do some of the mistakes sound familiar????

Humble is not at the NS level yet...but we are going to do very well. I think we will surprise alot of people. (Given that we fix those mistakes...their very minor, but if not taken care of...can become habit)

The first game is always a question mark. But, I did feel that Ike could've pulled that game out if their conditionong wasn't a factor. They had way too many of their stars go down with cramps. Many times killing drives.

We were up 28-14 in the third, had we not made so many mistakes...the game could of very easily ended 35-14.

I think Humble could of pulled away big time if we hadn't of had so many mistakes.

i have probably said it before on this board...but ill say it again.

IKE seemed like they already anticipated a loss against NS coming into the game...very flat, and then decided to wake up when it was far to late.

Their a talented squad, but im afraid coaching and a lack of discipline hold this team back from reaching their potential. then again, NS is a handful for any team.

Imressive!! We finally, at least these last 2 games, have a diversified offense. Mcginty so far can handle the ball and is not afraid to take off with it
if he needs to. He also displayed some great open field running. The running game was tremendous and that young sophmore Woods will be a terror in the next 2 years. He's got very good size and power. There is speed and more speed in that backfield and those guys don't quit when they are hit. I will say if Ike executed better and did not drop passes or throw bad ones, the game might have been a bit closer but NS wanted this one and took it. Ike was out to hit and do damage when they could. They have hitters in that secondary and I saw the elbow to the helmet take a Mustang down once. Next week is the real teller for NS.

Man that's really goo to hear!!! I can't wait to see these guys in action!

I saw that Woods was 5'11 and 195 that's already 3 inches and about 15-20 lbs on Chris and he's just a sophomore. Hopefully he'll perform as well as Ganious, and since he has 3 yrs. it's likely he'll get to that level.

Those r the things I like to hear!

Humble just needs Depth (atascocita depleted our depth, this year we have maybe 50 varsity players...to last years 75). But our starters are very talented, and our back ups are good enough to start anywhere else. its a shame we cant figure out a way to get those kids all on the field...some of those back ups are solid players.

Heads up you mavericks along that murky waterway. The Highlanders have been dressed down twice and will be looking to redeem their honor with a win. Luckily for them they were not wearing kilts when that stepped out on the Tigers' field last night or they might have lost more than honor.

Be wary if they show and play without turnovers. They could put up a challenge.

Even if they had won both games they've played they would be looking to redeem their honor where we are concerned. Other than last years game they haven't even come close to beating us with the most heart breaking loss coming in the 03' title game to what many said was the best Highlander team of them all.

Didn't we have a close one year before last with a 7 to 6 (it was by one point) win or was that someone else? I was thinking I went to that game and it was a Saturday night game, had been raining all day and was a little wet that night and it was at their stadium.

I love this game. I am excited for this one.

Shore does not go to Moorehead thinking easy win. Ever. TWHS has gone against some heavy teams in predistrict and I have to tip my hat at whoever had the guts to do that schedule. There is nothing dishonorable about losing to a team like Katy or SV.

The Woodlands should bounce back after the disappointment from the weekend. They will put up a better showing at home but I still believe NS comes away with the win. It will be closer though. The youngsters from The Woodlands are still about a game or 2 away, and then I think they will be ready for district and a possible playoff run.

I can remember playing one year (It was a Sat night and it had rained all day and it was at the Woodlands). I think the score was 7-6 NS. Those kids played for blood that night. I can remember a coach pulling one of our kids off the field by the facemask and shaking his head up and down and side to side for something he did wrong. I'll never forget it. I know that kid never did it again...whatever it was! I think he was probably going to cause a personal foul, because it was that kind of game.

As posted by Matt Malatesta on TX Prep:

Saw North Shore quarterback Vance Fizer and linebacker Julion Conley. They looked good and are off to school. Fizer is going to Central Arkansas as a WR/DB and Conley is walking on at New Mexico. These guys will play.

Also defensive back Mark Orphey will be starting this season for TSU. Marcus Jones (2-time, all-state) will be going to Harding University. Chris Riser (C/O 2006) will not be returning to Louisiana Tech, but Chris Gainous will be going to South Dakota State.

SFA will be receiving the services of Courtney Lane of North Shore, an all-state LB on the 2003 state championship team. He's been at Tyler for 3 years.

I hope you will be "jaws and eyes wide open" with disbelief as to how good a showing NS can put on. I was very pleased last week and did not know what to expect from this "unknown" team. So far they have shown a multiple attack offense (not the "lead draw"play) with several weapons. Lots of backfield speed and power and receivers that can catch and make plays- not to mention a QB that can deliver. McGinty is so different from last year. Let's hope they keep it up all year and make it past the second round.

How far is Moorhead from NS?

from my house ( near IH 45 ) in Woodlands it is 45 miles to Galena Park Stadium via Beltway 8 & IH 45 --then another 12 miles from my house to Moorhead Stadium

Parking --- visitor parking @ stadium limited but parking available at Conroe High on Davis ( FM 105 ) which is on visitor side --to get there dont make the turn at Luby's on Longmire --stay on 105 about 1/8 mile ( stadium staff will transport via golf carts if assistance needed ) .Adequate parking on home side if you dont mind the walk around the home side ( stadium staff will also transport if needed) .

I dont recommend , but there is a little parking at bank just before you get to visitor parking -- could use since it is Sat evening --- BUT --- DONT MAKE MISTAKE SOME LUFKIN FANS DID 2 YEARS AGO ___ DONT BLOCK THE DRIVE UP LANES TO THE MACHINES --THE BANK ( not Conroe ISD ) HAD THEIR CARS TOWED

My suggestion -- if you get to Conroe less than 30 minutes b4 kickoff , dont bother with visitor parking lot -- go straight to Conroe High --then if that is full , go to west end of campus ( same direction you were going ) to get to Wilson Road --turn right ( only way you can turn ) that will take you to back side of Conroe High --scattered parking avialble at freshman annex & along road --then after about 100 yds you will come to Conroe High student parking --should be some parking there --that is where most of home side will be parking

BTW --plenty of eating , fast food , casual dining , etc avialable along 105

Now --- after this help I have given to the NS fans -- how about some payback --take it easy on my Highlandes ( LOL )

If the D gets tight, and, they are looking better every week, I would say this is a better team than the 05 team. If for no reason other than the offense being able to strike from every direction and not being one dimensional. I also belive this is the best QB we've had since BR.

Thanks Fan. You give some great info. Not only that, but with the golf cart assistance you guys have a first class operation:)

If the D gets tight, and, they are looking better every week, I would say this is a better team than the 05 team. If for no reason other than the offense being able to strike from every direction and not being one dimensional. I also belive this is the best QB we've had since BR.

Funny thing is he's also very good @ basketball like Reid! McGinty played on the varsity bball team as a sophomore I believe. Maybe we should start looking for our QBs on the basketball team!:D

not much handicap parking -- but like my other post --- if you tell the stadium staff --they will go get him with a golf cart --if you are lucky you might see them running around in their carts or tell security & the will radio the staff -- if that doesnt work --tell them at the gate --also tell them that he will need the cart AFTER the game & the will make arrangements

Good news ! ! ! --- the overflow parking lot that CISD arranges for big crowds will " probably " be open --it is on the visitor side --it is the WEISNER GMC COLLISION CENTER --on the right ( across from left field fence of the Conroe High baseball field ) just b4 you get to visitor parking --it will hold about 40 - 50 cars. So do u guys think that if the D stays true to the North Shore tradition we could have a team similar to 05?? I mean the offense seems to be able to put points on the board and outscore opponents.

As the tackling improves, they could be better than "05. The offense came into the season as a question mark, but has displayed a great deal of versatility. The D is starting to get a handle on the spread. After tonight, we'll have a good indicator what kind of po team they are. Probably won't see alot of team speed for awhile.

well the good thing is that this defense can be as good as 06 and 05 but they dont have to because the offense is putting up 45+ points a game so far....but we shall see how this game with woodlands turns out as well as how much we improve come playoff time....

It's starting to come together. The D did a great job of adjusting in 2nd half, and the O, well... They did what good teams do. McGinty played a great game in spite of his injury. He showed alot of heart along with the Defense. It wasn't their normal blowout, but a complete game all around.

Congrats to NS on the win after adjusting their play coming out of the half. You've gotta admit, though, you had to be a little  after watching the first half. That was the best TW looked on both sides of the ball so far this season.

I don't know what the :Censor: happened from the first half to the second. I heard several kids saying they were winded because they were playing both sides of the ball and some special teams. TW may need to make some substitutions on special teams to keep their players fresh.

Again, congrats NS! Nice work out there.

As has been said TW came to play in the first half and handed Shore all it could handle and then some. But somewhere during half time that edge or what ever it was got lost. Aside from that quick kick on third and about eleven I thought Shore played a pretty good second half.

NS played a great second half. I was really impressed with how they adjusted to slow down our new and improved offense and to break down our defense. There's a lot to be said for conditioning all the way through the fourth quarter.

Yes Proud we have this week off. #1fan as to your question I've kind of wonder to why they don't start him. I guess they're just carrying on the tradition of promoting last years backup to the starter role. The good thing is that Deaundre is just a junior so that means we have him around for one more year. And Woods is just a sophmore so you got him for two more years. What I would really love to see it them be used the way they used Kevin Moore and Harrell Ester.

I think that's where they are headed. As far as who starts, I don't think it would matter much, as long as whoever has the hot hands gets the bulk of the carries that particular game. Woods did the damage last week.

I told ya- this kid is good! Jones has such speed its incredible but sometimes he can't get open. When he does look out though. Woods is a bit like Kevin Moore but wait until next year and the year after. I was also told NS middle school has an 8th grader QB- 6'3" 215 in the making. Another Bobby Reid? Maybe. Yeah I notice they put Woods in when we're in or close to the red zone. I guess cuz he's bigger than jones and probably has an easier time running through defenders. Jones sure has speed though! I was looking @ a picture of all the RBs and found it funny that although he's the youngest of them all he's the biggest.

lot of the "good ole country boys " from Conroe & Caney Creek carry pocket knives -- really no harm meant -- just tradition. I think eventually all high schools will have detectors -- most pro stadiums & a lot of colleges have them now

In the 4 straight seasons that I have seen TWHS play NS, I can honestly say that I have never seen TWHS have a bad halftime performance. I am not crazy about the free-form bad, (A&M grad, love the Aggie Band), but the High Steppers are amazing. And, you know, it's not the fact that they can high kick, but it's that they do it so slow and in sync with every other girl on the field. It shows control that only comes thru tons and tons of practice. Keep up the good work, and good luck for the rest of the season.

Yeah one thing you dont realize about the high -kick ----- My daughter was a Highstepper --she was the shortest member -- on the end of the line -- so she had to kick higher than the others so that her kick was same height as the others ! !

TWH has alot to be proud of --- 12 straight yrs Football PO's ( and if we had been playing any other team in Texas BUT Northshore in 03 --we would have left Rice Stadium as state champs ) --also have 2 state championships in baseball -- about 15 state championships in boys Cross Country ---- BUT one thing to count on every year are the Highsteppers ---- they had the same instructor for their first 25 years until she retired--then a former Highstepper for the last 5 years --the " new " instuctor kept same style uniform and performance. There have been some posters that claim that the girls are snobs because they wont talk to or even acknowledge fans in the stands -- but that is what they are taught -- just like the military -- dont talk or look at anybody but the person in charge when in formation --- they are there to perform --- not visit

I've seen several of them hanging out with the players after the game. They let their hair down and turn into normal teenage girls. If anyone thinks they seem distant and aloof during their performance then you know they're doing their job as instructed.

You are right. We were taught to look straight ahead, do not talk or look at anyone while in line, especially at attention. If you did it was automoatic demerits. My dad (God love his soul) used to stand eye to eye with me at the 45 yard line and scream, "Hi baby" the whole time I was marching out. Of course then it embarrassed me, but now that he is sick I would love those days again. We also were NOT allowed to slap mosquitos off our legs. I can remember big ole' bites on my legs. That's hard, especially trying to keep a big smile on your face.....we also rubbed vaseling on our teeth to keep our lips from shaking when nervous.

Pep rallies don't seem to be much fun for the kids, football games are okay, homecoming, etc. When I listen to the kids now days they don't seem to have the pride for some reason. Good article! Let them just quietly go about their business. NS's problem is that they will not be allowed under the radar just on the quality of the program itself. Sure, I like to see them get recognition but I'd just as soon do without it right now.

See guys.....us girls have it bad on Friday nights too....not just those players!

Yes, Ruffshod................................way back in the day! Haha. You are making me feel sooooo old.

Come on now. That's between me and you.

I had to get you on that one (way back in the day). You are like my former third grade students...I would wear my Mustang shirt on Friday (which confused them anyway because I was in Galena Park), but when I would tell them I went to North Shore High School they would just look at me and say, "Wow, you mean the school is that old." Then I would remind them who controlled the grade book.

I expect the Deer to come out snorting and ready to stick those antlers in us. And while they may well hang with us for a quarter or so after that it should be deer season as usual. I think their best bet would to be to play ball hawk and keep our offense off the field as much as they can.

I agree. So far, each opponent we've played has come out firing, and we've been able to eventually been able to pull out the victories. Maybe this is the week we bring back the ol' magic and punish someone right out the gate.

A lot like the TWHS game. DP will come out rattling antlers at the first but once the D and Big Mac get in the groove it will be over. I don't see the Deer having the horses to run with our boys this year. I still like keeping NS way down on the elite list. I'd also like to see Woods have a huge day.

I'm expecting Shore to win but I don't want any surprises. If they work their potential they should do well but who knows? I think Big Mac and the D will prevail. It's been a crazy year early. CL Whittington has the South Houston Trojans winning some games. They've been the doormat since NS left it a few years ago. Even that game may be a challenge.

I see may be a slow start due to the off week, but once they get it in gear its not going to be pretty. As they say Deer Park's best offense will be to keep the ball away from the Mustang offense as much as they possibly can. If they can't keep our offense off the field then its going to be a long night.

As far as South Houston goes they always seem to get a lot of hype coming out of the pre-district game. But once district starts they fall right back down to the cellar of the district along with everyone except for us, La Porte, Deer Park and Dobie.

I went to the game. Deer Parks big daddy came to give another whoopin as expected. DP may never beat NS again. It's almost like they're afraid to. They should have kept this game close but just gave up.

North Shore has a well balanced offense but the receivers dropped a ton of easy passes. The running game is more of the same apparently. Lots of delayed draws... On defense the secondary looked pretty good. They had a lot of success when they brought pressure on 3rd down but DP did OK running the ball on 1st and 2nd down.

North Shore will go 10-0 IMO. It's gonna take a team with heart to beat them. They never give up. I did notice that they came out pretty soft with not much emotion this game though. I'm not used to seeing that out of North Shore. Seemed pretty similar to the Baytown Lee game of last year except this time the other team didn't fight back.

Also, DP had a huge turnout and NS didn't bring much. I guess they just know that DP has no chance of ever beating them..

That's usually the case with most teams that we play. They are able to run with us in the first half, but after that our conditioning and depth usually ends up taking over. As we've said before when we start dipping into the reserves the pressure and intensity doesn't drop off near as much as it does when most teams go to their backups. I would venture to bet that most of our second team offensive and defensive players would be starters at any other school in the area or the state.

As I said earlier today I had a feeling we'd come out a little flat following the by week, but I wasn't expecting us to be as flat as we were. And you can't blame this one on the offensive coordinator as he was making the right calls, but they just weren't happening on the field. If we don't have all the fumbles and dropped passes then the game is over in the first quarter.

I forgot about Lee. The rivals back in my day seem to be different than what they are now. We stole mascots, GP let live yellow jackets through the windows at NS, they painted thunder black and gold stripes (which made alot of our teachers very sick as they repainted him). We stole Mr. Jack several times and hung him from the top of the lights at Dement. Now I wasn't involved in it, but our guys were. I guess it was more in district rival than out of district. I guess nowadays everyone hates NS so we are rivalry for everyone.

Also, we used to run Thunder up and down the side everytime we scored a touchdown (we didn't score too many so maybe that is why). Does anyone know why we don't now? We had rounders that took care of him/her. Maybe I'm just missing tradition.

Well it's LaPorte this week. There will be no speaking between the kids and I in our house this week. My daughter is a senior this year and isn't too happy with her football team, especially after losing to SOHO. So, how do ya'll think we will do with LP? Is that a dumb question? They should have never got rid of Mills. I really liked him. I just hope the guys don't come out looking like they did last week. Do ya'll think they will be more pumped....not that LP is a big game for them.

Big Daddy Cool

You know I too have wondered why they don't run Thunder anymore after a Mustang score. Its kind of strange seeing him just standing there on the sidelines looking bored. I know they still have the Rounders as I'm pretty sure they are the ones running the new flags we have after a score. May be they need to add some members to their squad who would be in charge of taking Thunder back and forth while the others are running the flags. May be they could talk the cheerleaders into handling the flags for them so they could make Thunder run once again.

By the time I went through the scool the rivarly with GP had died down I believe probably due to the fact that we no longer played each other. But I do remember seeing some signs of pranks like you speak of being played on us. I don't remeber who did it but I think it was when I was a freshman some school got a hold of Thunder and messed him pretty good. Thankfully Mr. Elliot his Auto-Tech guys were able to put him back together again.

As for this week's game I wouldn't think we would come out as flat as last week due to what I'm sure will be a good hard week of practice not that our boys ever have a light week of practice. But I'm sure they didn't work them near as hard during the off week as they do during a game week. Its kind of sad to see how La Porte had really come along only to have fallen back down again. I think Mills leaving definitely hurt them but from the little I remember reading the decision to leave pretty much wasn't up to him. I'm sure the Bulldogs will come out full of fire like every team we face.

But sooner or later the depth and talent will overwelm them like it does everyone else. What I'd really like to see happen of the next few weeks is them trying a lot of different things just to give those who are already scouting us for possible playoff matchups something to think about. It would be neat to see them try somethings on offense that are very out of the ordinary for us. Let's make it hard on those trying to game plan for us by showing them all sorts of things, so they can't just sit on trying to stop us the way they always have.

I don't think we will have any trouble with LP. I do however believe that Pasadena Mem will not go quietly like all other district contenders. I also hope the guys hold onto the ball this week or LP may be a threat! I am still astonished at the number of fumbles. But I believe they will be fine throughout district.

I have to differ with you here Cool...I am kinda glad they retired the horse. The new flags are a more modern twist on what the horse accomplished in the past.

Yea these days EVERYONE hates NS so the entire Greater Houston area is NS's rivals. Given the opportunity quite a few teams would step forward to take on North Shore. Also, a host of teams would run and hide! LOL!

I see a trend here. Slow start in the first half and kick butt in the second. It's like the D coordinator has to have a half to make adjustments although I don't think that is the case. We fans want to see kick butt for 4 qrtrs. The DP game sounded like NS was off a week and had kinks to work out. When they worked them out they got back on track. I'm glad that was not Memorial after the off week. As far as playoffs, I see this team doing what it's been doing all season. The defense locks the door in the second half. They are better than I want to give them credit for. There are too many come from behind wins. That won't cut it deeper in the Po's.

I do believe as the season goes on they will surely get better. Heck they pretty good now. They are no '03 defense but they are good. Heck getting into the backfield as soon as the ball snaps is where it's at. Chase McEntee & Deramus those are some bad boys. They will depend heavily on defense in the Playoffs. One thing is for sure both off & def will have to start playing from the first quarter on. Taking a half to see what the other team is doing and then making adjustments may not work in the playoffs.:Music

The Mo of the Mustang defense has always been to come out strong and only get stronger as the season goes on. As far as the defensive coordinator needing a half to make the neccessary adjustments it generally doesn't take them more than one or two series before you see them really starting to put a clamp on things. I mean sure even after the adjustments have been made they are going to give up some yards here and there, but they won't be like they had been. We've had the good fortune to have been blessed with some very smart men at our Defensive coordinator's spot. From Coach Cooker to Coach Johnson to Coach Chessier and now to Coach Kay they have all been men who were able to make quick adjustments instead of having to give up some serious yards before their adjustments are seen. As I see it the defense is what's always propeled us forward while the offense has come along for the ride. Now of course 03' would be the exception to the rule as that was the one time where both came firing out of the gate on all cylinders.

Okay, I'll try this one: In '05 did Fizer suffer from always looking over his shoulder? Work kept me from the majority of the district games so all I have to go on is pre and post district play. In pre-district I felt we had a team that was feeling out it's passing attack between two potential starters, with majority time going to Fizer. Fast forward to the Baytown Lee game and I saw no progress only they were changing QB's in the middle of a series after a botched pass play. Maybe that was just playoff desperation but it certainly couldn't have helped Fizer's confidence in his role, especially if he'd played the entire season that way, I'll never know and this is a view from the sidelines......way up high and far removed on the sidelines. But, I feel we lost in '05 due to lack of production at quarterback. If the roles had been better defined early, perhaps things would have been different.

Now '06, we are passing more. McGinty appears to be poised with confidence building in the leadership role. Maybe he wasn't ready last year.
The defence, as always, is sound, though I'd like to see more penetration up front earlier in the games. However this could be by design, and the backs....
Jones, can't be a North/South runner at his size, and Furlow needs more carries.

We got a big sophomore in Woods (5'11, 195) and I expect that as the season goes on we'll see more of Furlow and Woods, maybe they'll rotate them like they did Jeremiah and Vance. All 3 (Jones, Furlow, & Woods) are good backs. I think the bigger question is who should start?

I think they will get better as the season goes. For the most part, we've been playing the same teams year in and year out. So they give everything they have right out the gate, and subsequently begin to fade early in the second quarter. You see it at all levels. The perennial big dog has a bullseye on his back and everyone is gunning for him.(See Westfield '04) They were so overjoyed when they beat us that they forgot they had two more games to win. They were as good as our '03 team imo. So, the defense is handling the spread alot better than I expected, and if they can contain Ike's speed, I don't see why they can't make a deep po run. A running team will struggle with this defense, but spreads can cause potential matchup problems.

we share the same genes and bloodlines and last name.......mine ain't like that...lol...

seriously, what colleges is he looking at realistically if that's in his future?

He is as said earlier, the best QB since BR. He is a pleasure to watch and he seems so easy going but he makes things happen on the field. I think NS fans will be in for some nice surprises this year.

The infamous OUT OF BOUNDS run by Proctor. CLASSIC!

Look at the North Shore fans in the distance looking like this game is a mess!

Nah jp/ Pearland fans...this one came down to coaching point blank! That out of bounds run only accounted for one touchdown NS shouldn't have allowed.

Now Mustang fan let's be careful there putting the blame on the coaches. I've done that before and it got me in trouble. As far as that play goes you got to give Coach Heath a lot of credit for having the guts to try it. And you've got to give Sam and the Pearland offense credit for making it happen. As you said that play alone isn't what beat us, it was our play in the second half that beat us. But that is the past and no matter how much we would like to we can't change it. We got to do what winners do and that's learn from it and move on.

I think McGinty is a great kid from what i can tell from the interviews i watched, well spoken...and determined... it doesn't change the fact that he is competing with Stephen McGee on Bushy eyebrows.

Good kid though, i really enjoyed watching him at the IKE game...lots of heart.

Its nice to live in the past.

It is and it's easier to make arguments with but it is the present and the 03 and 06 seasons have nothing to do with how the 07 season will turnout.

Ok I'm sure some of u are wondering where Tolbert was all night. He was in the stands and I believe he was hurt but it didn't seem like anything serious. I don't know y he wasn't on the sidelines, but he didn't quit and should be returning.

I was wondering where he was. I thought that may be he was a grade cut victim or something else. I don't remeber him getting hurt in last weeks game. So it must have happened this week during practice or it was something we didn't see last week. You never want to be without a player of his caliber but thankfully we have some good backups to step in when one of our horses is down.

As for tonights game I have to say I was a bad fan and let the rain chase me home early. But it was evident at that point that La Porte was painfully over matched. Now its Rayburn and then the big one with the Mavericks.

Yeah, me too. I didn't bring my umbrella, and as you said La Porte wasn't very competitive tonite.

Somebody recap the game. I'm stuck in Tennessee. I hate missing NS Mustang football. By the way. Looks like Craig Chesser and Tom Lewinsky(old Northshore coaches wearing state rings) have Round Rock Stoney Point turned around. I believe they are 4-1 for the first time in a LONG time. Maybe for the first time ever. Is Tolbert suspended? Why would a hurt player be in the stands and not on the field? Sure hope not. That would hurt.

I never spell coach Chessher's name right. Sorry coach. Good win last night.

Crap. I can't spell stony either. Stony Point. Remember that name. It would be great to face them in the playoffs someday. Northshore coaches wearing rings on both sidelines. But I am getting WAY ahead of myself.

Pretty much had their way with La Porte. 28-0 @ half. I left at halftime because of weather. No turnovers and 180+ yds both passing and running. The offense is looking nicely diverse, can run or throw from any formation. At least 4 rbs that run the ball effectively with different styles. The defense recorded its first shutout of the season, and seems to be improving week to week.

so let me get this straight.... lake rips laporte.... Laporte loses to la marque by 2? pearland loses to la marque by three... pearland beats lake, lake loses to clear creek, creek loses to deer park... NS beats deer park......... is Deer park better than people are giving them credit?

and yes i agree.. the pasadena memorial game will be a good one... and it comes at a good time on the district scehdule.... not too far from playoff time so it should help both teams get ready for the playoffs.... maybe we can have good district playoff run....
