Of course Reggie Bush is THE man, but would you say that Taylor is the Longhorn's "Reggie Bush"?

He certainly could be...but they are still kinda figuring out how to use him. I know the term is thrown around pretty loosely, but Ramonce is a true 'freak'. His athletic ability is off the charts...he needs to get the ball 10-15 times a game.

I know if Ramonce had returned that kickoff 100+ for the TD (the one where he accidently touched the line) It would have been replayed 1000 times on ESPN. And yours truly would have needed some oxygen afterwards. He almost pulled it off.

my friend that was there said that the guy that tackled him was the last man there

He was!
I was screaming "Uh-oh...uh-oh....he's gone!"
That one alone would have made him an instant 'Horn legend.

Ramonce has the talent and athletic ability to be a Reggie Bush type, but he's not getting Reggie Bush type touches. Last year, Bush averaged over 14 touches per game on offense. So far this year, Ramonce is averaging less than 5 touches per game. I would like to see Ramonce get closer to 15 touches a game with at least half of those coming on the ground.

What is up with Quon Cosby? I heard Musberger mention his name...but that was Pittman. One of Brent's many blunders during the game. My favorite is when he called "the shoe" the Big House...hahahaha I bet Buckeye fan was pissed about that.

i think Romance could be reggie, after the Osu game and the emergence of the texas wide outs i thin k vince will probably throw the ball more. Romance need to Catch,Run and return for atleast 100 total yards a game.

I heard Shipley may be playing this week if he does thesrs no doubt he is probably texas's best reweivers.

Another thing all of the Texas Wide outs are young almost all are Sophmores of RS freshmen so when colt gets the start in 2 years he will have expierenced receivers so that should be nice as well.

Now if selvin would just show up it would be good. Charles is still kinda small if he adds 10 more pound he will have the ability to power run as well. Not like they need him to when they Have Hank the Tank. I was so mad they need to use him more. Once were inside the 20 yard line it ought to be Hank and Limas sweed time.

Quan had a catch in the ULaLa game, but he is still shaking off a couple of years of rust. I doubt the coaches wanted to risk anything with Ohio State so that is probably why you didnt see him. I wont be surprised to see Quan touch the ball a time or two against Rice.

I think getting Shipley back on the team is going to change some things. I think he will allow Texas to line up 4 and maybe even 5 wide on occasion. When they are lined up with a TE, you might see RT line up a few times at TB. I would personaly love to see Texas line up in a 3 wide, 2 back offense with Vince in the shotgun, RT on one said of him and Jamaal on the other. Then put Shipley in at flanker, Sweed in at split end and Pittman in at the sub B position. You talk about a lethal combination of talent on the field.

jtk...what defense in the nation could stop that formation?
I'm stuggling to come up with one.
Matter of fact...there isn't one.

It would have to be damn good one because not only would that defense have to be prepared to defend one of three great runners on any given play, they would also have to defend against basicly 5 receivers. There are so many things you could do with that play from running simple screen passes to running a triple option. The possibilities are endless.

Yes, yes, and yes...that would be sick. However, I would also like to use DThomas in the slot and have Shipley and Pittman out wide. I'll never forget Sweed's catch last weekend, but he's always been a mystery to me...sometimes he looks like he's never seen a football...he can look pretty clumsy out there. You know the potential is there, but it's like it just hasn't clicked for him yet.

You're right about Limas. David Thomas however, is money in the bank. And if Shipley is thrown in the mix...Limas will be forced to produce, or else he won't see the ball thrown his way at all. Of all people to make that grab...I would have never said throw it to Sweed. But he pulled it off in the clutch.

And why did Musberger say Young's pass is caught by Limas Sweed ...the X man...
Everybody knows Sweed is the square button...hahaha

thats all true what y'all say about UT's backs and receivers, but i think the most important thing on that offense is the big o-line. i mean they really make everything easier, i cant remember the last time a non blitz pressured the QB

I agree about Thomas. Though I was disappointed in his performance against Ohio State, I still think he may be the most solid receiver on the team. No problems though. Until Shipley is 100%, put Pittman in at flanker (or Brian Carter who is currently 1st string flanker), then keep Sweed at SE and line Thomas up in the sub B position. He has all the physical tools to be a good slot receiver (he's just a little bigger than most WRs).

Of course, you could easily adapt the offense and run a 2 back, 2 wide offense with a TE. Jamaal, RT, Shipley and Sweed in at their positions with Thomas at TE. Either way, Thomas is still probably going to be covered by a LB, but having Thomas in the slot (or another receiver) would spread the defense out just that much more, thereby creating better lanes for VY, RT or JC to run through. Either that or a defense would have to have a DB cover Thomas which then creates a huge advantage for Texas in the passing game.

Goal Line offense needs to be afull house set with Melton at the Running back spot bring in so DE or TE to play full back and have 1 receiver and 1 TE Sweed and Thomas to catch passes and make it simple power them into submission.
