What is up with the rankings this week? you have the woodlands ranked #21 with a 0-2 record and there are 4 teams ranked below them with perfect records. It just doesn't make any sense.

Well, our rankings aren't like most other rankings out there. We try to incorporate a little common sense. For example...
The Woodlands has played two of the best teams in Texas and was extremely competitive in 6 of the 8 quarters. In fact, they stood toe to toe with Katy and North Shore and held their own. Yes, they are 0-2, but we still feel that they are a very good team, and despite the losses, they have proven that with their play so far. We're giving them the benefit of the doubt also because we want to see how they stack up against a team that they are actually favored to beat. We ranked them high in the preseason and we are sticking by that. This week they play Humble and that should provide a good reference as to whether or not our thoughts on The Woodlands were correct. If they lose, they will drop and if they win, they'll probably stay where they are depending on how the teams around them perform.
There are currently 70 undefeated teams in the state of Texas...granted. However, none of them have played Katy and North Shore. Time will tell whether or not we've lost our minds, but, so far the rankings have held up quite nicely.

I think that The Woodlands has really ended up like Humble did last year. Humble played Katy and The Woodlands and were crushed both games. Starting off a season 1-2 is not fun at all. They later played Westfield as well and whether it was a fluke or not, Westfield beat North Shore, so Humble is kinda feeling The Woodlands.
The Woodlands also have to play Humble next week and let me tell you, we aren't going to just roll over, so The Woodlands have the potential to start off the season 0-3. Ouch!! The Woodlands should be fine next week anyway, but there is that chance.

You know how teams have quality wins. Well, The Woodlands has two quality losses (Katy & North Shore).
I bet a few teams even ranked higher on the list that are now (2-0) would be (0-2) after playing those two teams.
I can see the Woodlands somewhere around #18-#22 right now at this point in the season.
