I've got to say that picture we have on the home page is one of my favorites that Albright's taken for us. He takes incredible pictures, and that's one of his better efforts in my opinion. Great shot.
I'm anxious to see what Thomas will do this year, and hope he gets to play in all the games. Last year, he ran for 2000 yards in 8 or 9 games. That's just unreal. It's going to be fun to see who wins the rushing title in 26-5A between he and Marcus Wright this fall.
I wish it was time for spring ball already.

I've got a sick picture of Jonathan Craig stiff-arming one of the Madison guys in Mac's 42-34 win last season. Craig comes through clear as day, but the background is kind of blurred for an intensity effect.

Lol, I did that sophomore year. I had class in one of the few portables that you could see the field.

I think they should take a note from Cedar Hills playbook and move him to QB AKA "Will The Thrill Cole". I think that kid needs the ball in his hands every down. That QB last year killed you guys. He was no threat to run and could not throw the ball that well either. I think if Devin Thomas is at the helm and gets the ball every down things are different now. This is what people are doing if they can not throw the ball. Which you guys at Madison could not do and people would load the box and key on Thomas. If you get into a empty formation with him back there by himself and isolate him in open spaces you have a chance. I bet he can throw the ball. Any Rb can throw the ball. If not then use 7on7 to teach him. Do you have a QB back? Is it that same little kid? Or was he a senior. I am sorry if he is on here and reads this. He just was not a good QB and it is not his fault.

We love not seeing the Rockets in that top 4. Madison has the offense, but what about defense; ditto with Mac. SV by far and away will be district champs--unless they struggle defensively.

Devin Thomas is the best back in the state but no he can not throw the ball to save his life. The Mavs ended the season with the Quarterback that should have been playing the whole year. His name is Bryan Ehrlich (#4) and he can throw the heck out of the ball. He is returning as a senior to lead this offense deep into the playoffs. No doubt Devin will be the big game factor but now with Ehrlich in they have a chance to throw the ball at will. Madison is also returning a speedy 4.38 40 Chris Powell (#2) who has had bursts of excitement but has yet to show his talents on the field because Madison never put in the QB that could throw. On defense Madison only lost 2-3 Starters so they will be set with seniors next year being led by Jason Mclean (#6). This may be the most talent Jim Streety has ever coached and the big difference on this team is that the leadership has sky rocketed from last year. Thomas is always a work horse and Ehrlich keeps the offense rolling while key returning seniors on defense make sure that everyone is doing there job. It is going to be fun to watch the Thomas/ Ehrlich Combination on offense because they both can put up 4,000 yards of rushing and passing combined if Streety allows it. Hopefully then can bring the first 16 win season to Mav Country!!!

Mac's defense will be what keeps them in games this coming year. Remember Fucshak is a defensive minded coach so the core of talent will go on that side of the ball. The 08 defense will be both faster and quicker but will have more new players then last year. They'll have to gel.
On offense they have to replace Schmid, Craig, Schraim, Lofton, Shussler, Williams and Odom. This is where Mac will have it's biggest issues early in the season. There are quality players filling in those spots but they don't have the playing time. They'll have to pick up the speed of the game quickly.

I hope the QB is better than what you guys had last year. I saw the SV game and he was a drive killer. So, no toss sweep passes then HUH! Can this kid run though. With the offense you guys run he needs to be able to run the read play. He needs to be a threat as well as Thomas. How many return on the O line? Just my opinion

Madison will have to replace 4 on the O-line. Bryan Earlich has a great arm, but I was not impressed with his running ability. Bryan didn't play against SV, Matt Towne started and then went down with a knee injury. The other QB, #8, don't remember his name was a better runner. He was just a little short at 5'8" or 5'9". He was replaced with Bryan in the Churchill game after he got injured. Hopefully the O-line will come together. The defense returns 7 starters.

#8 was Devin Myler. Ehrlich will be good this year. He has the arm, and all he needs to do is throw the ball up and let Chris Powell run under it. As far as Devin Thomas, or "Strictly Business" as me and friends refer to him as, he will have another great season. I was really impressed with his YAC last year, and as he gets bigger and stronger this will only get better. The one run that really impressed me was against o'connor when he nearly slipped, but he put his hand down, got himself upright and took off down the field where he broke numerous tackles.
As far as putting DT behind center, probably not a good idea, but some direct snaps wouldn't be a bad idea. I would also like to see DT catch some more balls out of the backfield because I think this is an area that he is not utilized in enough.

does anyone know what position myler will be playing next year? he's quick and really tough, just not big enough to beat ehrlich at qb. i think the offensive line will suffer the most, but there are very good jv guys moving up. it should be a good season though. im definately excited

Madison's JV team lost one game and had a speedy Qb leading the way, the freshman squad had two brothers playing in the back field that were massive compared to the rest of the team and opponents.
I can't see how Mac will be anywhere near where it was next year. They loose all but 7 players off of varsity. I'm not talking starters I’m talking all of the varsity squad. Van was keying on 2006 for sure. I saw Mac's JV squad get spanked by Madison this last year so unless there are some transfers I can't find reason to think Mac-will-be-Back!
Here are my picks for 2007
SV – Hill gets the ship righted as the JV squad was undefeated last year
Madison – Too much talent to miss again.
Reagan – Wright will lead the way but Defense will be Swiss-Cheese
Judson / Mac / Roosevelt / Churchill – 4th place will be by Default

yeah, i actually heard that the JV quarterback could challenge ehrlich for the starting varsity position. he is pretty small though. i dont know how that will all work out, but both guys are great at the position.

Hah Ehrlich works his tail off more than anyone on the team and i can almost guarantee that he will be a more fluid runner next year not to mention the kid has a cannon. It's his job no matter what happens during spring ball. I talked to him the other day and he told me that he has the easiest job on the team. Hand it to Devin T. and throw it to Christain P. He told me that he has not a single worry about his O- Line. He thinks they are some workhorses too and they will be great next year. He's a great kid and i cant wait for him to prove the doubters worng. What i really want to know is how many yards it D.T. going to run for next year.

oh definitely, the O-Line here at Madison has tradition and pride in what they do, they have some of THE BEST attitudes here in all of Madison athletics, no doubt they have heart.
and the lil JV QB you're talking about is Leo Gutierrez, he is a small lil son of a biatch, but he sure can run like hell and has a strong arm (somewhat accurate)

Why are there so many Devin Thomas haters?? He is a great runningback and already has 2 offers and is probably about to get another one shortly. And this is off topic but i saw in the paper about the Lee QB impressing scouts. I think Madison's Ehrlich will give him a run for his money for All- District and Region selections next year.
