Welcome Jaws -

The oldest rivalry in Texas - round 129 or whatever. Just when you think everyone agrees to shoot this lame matchup - we may a decent game Friday night.

Don't roll your eyes Packsters - Nac. has looked crisp in blowing out Huntsville and Lumberton. In bad years - they squeek out these wins and then the wheels fall off. They've won these two this year like 100-12 combined - and have looked explosive.

Coach Bill Harper worked miracles at Marshall - he ain't too old to do it again - and is probably even fresher after retiring for 2 years. The two qb's look good -and the wr and rb are explosive. This team will gain some yards on LP in the air - and I think they might score more than twice.

But, I don't think the game is that close. I'd take Lufkin about 38-17 or so. I honestly hope for a good game. If LP goes up there with a lousy attitude as they have been known to do in years past - it will be an ugly game.

Wouldn't shock me if LP blows the doors off, but I'm not banking on it - and I think Nac. will be more prepared for this game than they have been in a decade - Coach Harper is that good.

This will be decided before kick off. The real note is do I eat Hotdogs, or Nachos. Atleast this dragon team doesnt breathe fire.

I know Nac will be up for this game this year and playing at home will fire the up even more and two weeks of putting up 49 points, huh think this game may be closer than some think. The pack had better not take these Dragons to lightly. They need to go out and put the points on them early, that will take the wind out of their sails.

Favpack, come on man. Don't put Lufkin in the same bag as 4A Lumberton, while 5A Huntsville is the door mat this year of 14-5A. Rivalry or not, can you say Lumberton in the same breath as Marshall, Texarkana, Kilgore, Highland Park, LaMarque or Ennis? Can you say Ncogdoches along side those teams? No comparison and we have not even mentioned Lufkin, Longview or Tyler Lee against a team like Lumberton or Huntsville.

Lufkin would have to sleep walk or have a flu epidemic sweep the team to lose this game.

The stadium is indeed unbecoming. I only give my frito pie predictions (at what point do I go buy a frito pie and stretch out) for home games - home cookin' is the only way to go for concessions.

I think you guys are under-estimating coach Bill Harper - and you have a point. Until proven otherwise - you think Nac. remains a perennial loser. The talent is there - can he harness it like he did at Marshall? I say yes, but it will take a few years.

LP---- 42-0....First half

Final--- 56-7 after putting in the second and third stringers....Nac has put up numbers, but against WHO...they have never seen a defense that LP will bring to the field.

Well......... Very simple prediction game, of course we all know that Lufkin will win big.

Lufkin 42
Nac 7

Since Lufkin has one of the best defense will keep Nac from making touchdowns.

I'm not sure about the predicted score, but certainly agree with the "D" comment. I'm excited about the possibilty of getting to see this one. I may set the record for the quickest trip from Big D to Nastydoches. :o

Just ask Scooter and the gang from PAM.

I'm sitting this one out too. Hopefully, the radio crew can get their act together this time around. Lufkin will take this one easy. However...

I personally, am glad to see Bill Harper at Nac. Maybe, within a few years he will have that program winning for a change. However, even in 4A they are in a tough district. They won't make the playoffs this year, but who knows 2 or 3 years from now.

Da' Pack!

I will be sitting it out to. last year the radio was clear. I know last week they had to go to the cell phone because of the stadium is not updated . Since they got their own server, and stop going thur tsrn it's better. Now they only have to worry about the com.'s at the stadium. All of the Old Abe games and the ones in Houston should be clear.

That's why I would like for us to go back to East Texas or stay in the district we in now.

If UIL put us in a new district, I'm sure that it will be Kingwood, Westbrook(beaumont), Humble,Port Arthur,Baytown schools(2), and 1 other

the only catch is that would put us in Region 3.

or they could drop Hunstville, add College Park and leave us in 14-5A.

Put us in region 3!! That is my hope!! I will be there too but i am not even going to attempt to get something from the concession stand this time. I do not which one was more unprepared and more slow PAM or NAC?? The Woodlands are definitely up there for being unprepared at concessions. They were out of everything before half.

Well if everyone is sitting this one out...how come the General Admission tickets were gone by 10:30 this morning?

Looks like I'll be sitting it out as well...it'll be the first game I would have missed in 5 years. Should have bought the out-of-town when I renewed my season tickets!

Favpack

You can probably get some quality seats on Nac's side - yeah, we bought our ticks when we got the season ones. Best to you getting in - apparently Nac. is big and fired up for this one. I will admit the fire-breathing Dragon is cool - but the concessions and stadium in general are a joke.

PackAttack2005

Got my tickets for the Nac game when I picked up my season tickets. I will be there no matter what happens. This game will be my 100th Panther game in a row without a miss, kind of a milestone for me.

Through all kinds of rain, wind, cold and heat I have almost made 100 in a row, I even left weddings and funerals early to drive to some out of town Panther games. No disrespect intended to them, I just paid my respects and headed to the game. Got to keep your priorities in order you know.

I will be there.

They will sell tickets at the Gate before the game that is like a rule by the UIL you have to hold a certain amount of tickets prior to the game. Someone correct me if this is not right.

I was talking to Luna's dad last night and he told me that he had heard (talk about some third hand information!) some of the players for Nac got in trouble at a "pasture party" and that they probably won't get to play. He told me that some drill team and cheerleaders were involved too. Can you say country??!!

Favpack
09-15-2005, 07:55 AM
PN - you are correct - UIL requires some tickets available at some time at the gate.

On the pasture party in Nac - wouldn't surprise me in the least. How far out of SL do you have to go to find a pasture? I'll guess 10 miles.

slcsportsfan
09-15-2005, 08:00 AM
depends on which way you go.if you are heading east, you probably won't find of size until you hit ennis (40 miles). going west, you can find one on the way to decatur (NW of the Texas Motor Speedway). so to answer your question... 15 miles. Nothing like East Texas though.
