Woah, Monterrey Tech, MX is really starting to make a strong showing against sub-5A competition. I guess its time to introduce them to Judson or Austin Westlake...
Week 1: Monterey Tech, MX 51 Port Isabel 0 (TX 3A)
Week 2: Monterey Tech, MX 47 Rockport-Fulton 0 (TX 4A)

What did Judson or Westlake do to deserve that?

I'm not sure what the year was, but Monterrey either won or lost to one of the South Texas 5A schools by a score of 4-2. It wasn't that long ago. I've always found it interesting that Monterrey would have a football team (none roundball variety).

Does Mexico have an age limit on who can play or are they playing with 25 year old men?

Moterrey Tech, or Prepa Tech as it is known in Mexico, is built on the model of an American Prepratory High School. They are located in the Monterrey suburb of San Pedro Garza Garcia, one of the wealthiest enclaves in Mexico. Again, it is one of the most americanized areas of Mexico. Their sister city is Plano, TX. If you go there. It looks just like any suburb in North Texas along with all of its amenites. Think of the high striving competative atmosphere of the Plano schools or for that matter Southlake. You get an idea of why Prepa Tech has an American football team. Furthermore, the competative nature of Prepa tech, gives its alumni an inside track into getting into the ITESM, the spanish acronym for Monterrey Tech, the leading university in Mexico. -- Hope this answered your questions. :D :D :D

Hey, go easy on 'em. You have to start somewhere. It's not ingrained into the Mexican culture like it is here. They used to say the same things about us when we tried to play soccer.

Purple - that was funny. I am laughing my head off - my wife asked me what is so funny - I showed her your response - and she (not being a football fan) did not get it.
But anyway - back to topic - I am from orginally from Monterrey and can tell you youth football is slowing picking up steam. I would love for the Monterrey team to come here and play a 5A team like Katy, North Shore, Woodlands or Westfield - It would be a great PR event for Texas HS football -

Does anyone happen to know the enrollment for Monterrey Prepa Tech? It would be interesting to see how they would hypothetically fit into a UIL classification.

I know u were kidding but we do know soccer in lufkin...my brothers senior year (2002) at lufkin he was on varsity soccer and they were in the sweet 16 of soccer but lost 1-0 to Klein which we should have had 2 penalty kicks when we had 2 guys tripped up in the box...if we had gotten those 2 called we probly would have won 2-1 and gone to austin the next week and who knows lufkin might have had 2 state champs that year...before the sweet sixteen the team's high point was beating nacogdoches (a soccer powerhouse) twice and winning lufkins first soccer district title...that nac team had clint dempsey on it and we beat them...
