There are some cool guys on this board. Fun to talk to some of you guys.
But then there are guys who just talk trash. They don't discuss sports. There are many teams and many fans. I am not a Longhorn fan. I am an Aggies fan. But I dang sure went for UT in the Rose Bowl wih VY. I am not a Cowboys fan, but I watch them and can discuss them intelligently with any fan. I like football period. I like the Spurs, but I went for Dallas in the Finals last year. Would love to see Avery Johnson get a ring. I keep up with all sports and teams and love to talk football. Doesn't matter what team. I am a Raider fan. Howie Long was my hero as a kid and I wore 75 when I played in school. So what?
I don't understand all the trash and crap. People insulting each other and purposely talking trash about what other people find important. Some guy starts a thread about the Oilers and in less than 5 post, the same two jump on and start bashing. I guess they think they are funny.
Can someone help me understand ?

i think i'm like one of those people you are describing. but i dont say things to cause problems, i say things because i have a bad temper and i take everything too seriously. i can admit it though. some other people just always think they are right.

First of all this is a TEXAS football website. The University of Texas is the most popular university in the state (don't tell me a&m is, admit it, it's not) and the dallas cowboys are the supreme nfl team in the state. More posters are more likely to follow these teams than any others. There are a lot of old timers on here who feel pretty strongly towards their teams, and when newer posters see their passion, they try and imitate, and that's when the bickering and bashing begins.

Nope. Can't help you understand, but if you stay on the Main Statewide Board, you will notice that trash talking is at a minimum. Insults are promptly (in most cases) locked or deleted. The KT Brothers let us have our way most of the time on this (off-topic) board. Go to College and NFL boards for those "fixes" and just click out of any thread you find distasteful. Again, those two boards are left for us to use/abuse most of the time. Again, the KT Brothers can and will lock us down when, IN THEIR OPINIONS, we need to be slapped!
Have fun and try to take it all in good humor. You will find a lot of good folks on this board (even those you think might just be heathens) and will notice a big difference during actual football season (plus Spring Ball, 7-on-7, 2-a-days).
