How many is that now for Baylor, this is getting pretty bad. I guess the Westlake product knew a good coach when he saw one in person. I think he's being recruited for saftey/linebacker, but i really wouldnt be suprised to see him make it as a fullback.

Hager is a good hard-nosed football player. However, I feel like the possibility of seeing a Fullback on the field in Denton is very small. I haven't seen TD's teams play with a Fullback or a Tight End for that matter at all.
I felt like Hager was very impressive in the State champiohship game.

i agree with ntf. todd doesn't have any players in those positions. in years past, if he wanted to go heavy, they'd use a lb or two as blocking backs, in practice. never ran it in a game however. last tight end was in the second or third game of 01.

Thats good info DD! I think there is a possibility of using a couple of the current Tight Ends and probably current Wide Receiver Brock Stickler as an 'H' back type to send in motion for an extra blocker and use for play action purposes. I would imagine that we will see some use of motion and shifting at UNT that TD hasn't needed to use at SLC. I could be totally wrong, however it seems like a majority of the colleges do some sort of motion or shifting a lot of the time. If I had one knock on SLC's version of the spread over the years it was that they had no Play Action passing game. However, to clear up any possible arguments there...They DID NOT NEED ONE! :D
I know one thing, there is a "new life" in regards to the North Texas program. The new offense by Dodge and Ford will be an exciting brand of football that will put butts in the seats. I believe in the last 2 seasons under the guidance of offensive coordinator Ramon Flanigan that UNT has been ranked last or close to last in Division 1A Total offense.

my only complaint was the almost complete lack of trick plays. they weren't needed, but should have run 1 a week anyway, imo.

Once the playoffs started you started to see a few new wrinkles from Dodge like the shuttle pass, option with the slot back, throw back pass to the qb from the slot receiver, pass to the slot receiver who then passes deep to a wideout. During the regular season, my best vs your best was the formula. In the playoffs, we'll open it up a bit.

i missed a couple of po games this year, but over todd's first six years i can only think of 5-6 trick plays total. it is a very soft complaint on my part, as his whole offense seems to make defenses look like they are defending trick plays anyway.

From what I read....he runs a 5.02 40-yard dash!
Uh, Baylor...maybe it's a good thing that North Texas got'em!;)
