Lost one they probably should have won last week and won one they probably should have lost this week.

Great special teams and defense by Judson.

Pflugerville has to be the best 1-2 team in Texas. If they learn to hold on to the ball they will be very dangerous.

Judson 22 Plugerville 13

PV is a very solid team, and has had two very tough hard games to swallow. Judsons offense looked OK at times but IMO they are still trying to find themselves with the new offense. The defense looks pretty solid but must find a way to get a better pass rush, and in the end they did a better job then that. I think that PV is a much better team than CC, and that is not taking anythig away from Cove. Judson learned more about thier team the past two weeks and that will be a huge help heading into district. If they can get #1 into their game plan more they should be OK

Rockets did hold PV to 280 yards which is 120 yards less than what PV got against SV. Specialty teams did well tonight. Offense is "still getting use to a new system" (I've heard that somewhere before). Defense is doing fine, but needs to shore up on third down (PV was 8 of 11 on 3rd down plays). Secondary did better (one starter was "out"). Mendoza for Judson is a workhorse. PV's QB and Cobb are very good players.

I sort of disagree with you. If you saw the Cove game it should not have been that close and from what I am hearing if PV did not turn the ball over it would be another L for Judson. There is a big difference between this year and last year as far as Judson goes although their fans may not want to admit it. PV if they were better than Cove would have found a way to win but they didn't. None of this is to say Judson is a bad team but they are not the Judson of past.

JUnk - it is still way to early to say Cove is bad or good, whether PV is bad or good. I did see the Cove game and PV game and it still my opion that Pv is a better football team than Cove. It has nothing to do with Judson at all, it will always be it doesn't matter were you start but were you end. I will also say if folks are under estimating all 3 of these teams then you are a fool.

I don't agree with your first point I'm biased, but on your last point I will agree!!!

Junkie,

Not sure if you saw the game between Judson and Pville. But if you did, it would/should be evident the Pville played a better game this week than CC played last week. The difference is Judson somewhat ironed out the problems with deep snapper and place kicker. If they would have performed that way last week the game would have been different.

Pflugerville is a very talented team and should make some noise in the post season.

No I did not see the PV-Judson game so I don't have first hand knowlege not taking anything away from them because from all accounts they are a good team. All I was saying as far a being a better team that includes all aspects of the game IE.holding onto the ball and a good team will do that and find away to win that was my thought. Like I said I did not see that game so I will reserve judgement until postseason and I do believe all three teams will be there.

I just have a few points to make and I will probably pi$$ some people off. The Rockets are dead. I did not witness Judson Rocket football last night. Sure they won. A blind squirrel finds a nut every now and then. Let me ask the Rocket faithful these questions. How many times did Rocket football lose to the New braunfels defense? How many games have we lost the the Madison offense? Well, that' who we are now! I wasn't impressed at all. Where was the spark? The running to the line and snapping the ball with 18 seconds left on the play clock? Where was that fire on defense? The jumping around, congratulating your teammate with a slap on the shoulder that would take most of us to our knees? Folks, think about it and really be honest with yourselves. We had as much enthusiaism as the Southwest Dragons! By the way, that's the only other team Rackley has coached. No, I truly believe Rocket football is dead as we know it or it has been relocated to Wagner. I can only hope..

BULL - I guess this means that you will not be attending any more Converse Judson games since they are dead. I use to have respect for you with all your posts on this web site but not anymore. You just played a team that is ranked in the state and lost by one point. Then you play another team that is ranked in the top 25 and win by 9 points and you think your team is dead. If all you are woriing about is them jumping around hand slapping and sprinnting to the the ball I feel sorry for you. Yes Judson might be different with two high schools, but guess what you do not know that for sure nor does anybody, but they sure do not need nay sayers like you around anymore either. Your team has been excellent for over 25 years and has won more state championships then most will ever have a chance to, and now you are saying their dead. I am sure the kids in the Judson system and played in a system that has ran the same offense for 25 years and for the firt time have to learn a new system, don't you for one minute think that it will take time. I think that you should get over that Judson has new coaches and at least give them some time, hell it only been 3 games and already you say they are dead, get real.

For bullrock to say this it must be different. And TexasRed Judson Pride is made up by a number of things . Including the enthusiasm displayed by the players after big plays or just plays period. And running to the line out of a huddle. It is those kinds of things that stand out and really make you take notice. And at the same time seperates Judson from other teams. The little things. The intangibles. These things are what make Judson Rocket Pride ,the winning comes as a result of all the little things.

Bullrock, since you were not at the game last night let me fill you in. Judson Def. was fired up and slapping each other thru out the game last night. I agree Judson does not look the same as in years past, but they are far from dead. Judson will look different due to the coaching changes, give them a chance. Judson is 2-1, with a loss by 1 point on the road to a team that was ranked higher. (2 missed pat's, 1 missed fg) :D

Bull makes some valid points, since the original coaching staff had been split up and people without Judson ties are running important aspects of the program there will be a drop off of the way WE do things. I am sure Coach Rackley, Soto and Brothers, etc will make sure that they will do what makes Judson football. I think we will have some growing pains. Yes not only God is with us but the sprit of Paschall is also with us. Bull, since you are so upset can I have your season tickets. (LOL)

I was on the sideline last night. There wasn't as much fire as there was last year and in years past, but it IS still there. The team is still trying to adjust to the new offense, and the defense is FAR from dead. You must not have been watching the same game as me if you didn't see Judson getting hyped up after big plays. I know I did, I know we got a flag thrown for excessive celebration, because I was down on the 15 yard line pushing the players back to the 25. The fire WILL return once the offense gets used to the new offense.

I can't say if they're dead or not. They played awesome last year and then didn't have what it took in the semis. They didn't look great a lot of weeks in 2002, but won when they needed to. The season is too long to write them off right now.

Yes....no knock on Judson or anything but this team seems a lot different than past teams...like they're almost struggling. I still have them to win district but it'll be quite a game with SV.

I knew that would get some hair up on necks. I did not say the team was dead. I said Rocket ball as I have witnessed 25 plus years is dead. There is a new sheriff in town and now there are new deputies too. The end of the Arnold/DW era is now gone and it is hard to get used to. TRLN, I was at the game last night. I haven't missed one this year. The only time I saw the defense get fired up was towards the end of the game. The rest of the time they were just going through the motions like they were playing Lee or Nixon. That is not how I define Rocket Football. We were playing a very good team and there should have been a playoff atmosphere on the field. It wasn't there. The QB standing under center surveying the defense until the clock ticks down to under 8 seconds is NOT Rocket football. Anybody who doesn't recognize this needs to have some brain cells regenerated.

I love it!! Its just a game played by teens but boy do we get wild about what we can not control.
Judson will be good, if not great regardless of how these games turn out. They may not be the same as in past years but no doubt they are good. Pville and Cove are also excellent programs and all three of these teams should be in the post season if all goes well.
It does not matter if you win or lose as long as you give it your best effort. I know us computer coaches love to only accept wins but there can be a lot gained on the field regardless of the win or loss. Its just hard for us who obviously are not playing the game any longer to set back and watch as we only have the control of our key pads.

You gotta love it though, we all love our teams and that is what makes getting on these sites so fun.

Good luck to all the teams this year and may the most deserving with the championships.

Total garbage. It does matter if you win or lose. If it didn't they would not keep score. If you don't think winning matters then there is no need to compete. I don't know anyone who is a real competitor who does not care about winning. I believe these kids are competitors and I'm sure they care about winning. Caring if you succeed or not caries over to every aspect in life. Try to be successful in the world without caring if you win or lose you won't get very far so that old cliche' is garbage.
