Man I had no idea that some of you think this team is a push over this year. Man they are doing just what they did last season and now there overrated wow 49-1. I want to see them get knocked off(By my PACK) but I am positive that they are not overrated. Now I do think Longview is the best team in Texas at this point, but SLC deserves the respect of every team. You can hate them all you want but in the end they will get there respect. I had my dream season end in front of my eyes to them last year, and I will not call then overrated again. But Watch out SLC becuase the Pack will be Back.

SLC are the "kings" until someone knocks them off and deserves every good rating in the state and the nation that they receive.......same goes for Tyler Lee in D1.............."Longview, the best in the state"?? i'm a Lobo, but i can't agree with you there...we still have some kinks to work out, first....plus, we have to see how the defense pulls together tonight against Lake Highlands after losing 2 starting LB's for the season....Marshall game---looked a little sloppy and lethargic; West Monroe game---starting to fire on all pistons, but had 2 key injuries...well see, i guess..........................

The longest winning streak in Texas 5a Football is the SLC dragons at 18 games so far. The SLC program had won 31 games before its one loss in 5a to Katy, then they have not lost since. 49-1 is not a bad record for 3 seasons plus 2 games. They have not lost a regular season game since joining the ranks of 5a Football.

And yes we do have a lot of hats for sale at our spirit shops! :)

save this and every week you can simply change one numeral. at what point will it become irrelevant. since 10-0 is at least a strong possibility, i suspect it'll be late november or early dec before some will be convinced, if ever.

look man - it is really irritating to listen to the loyalists, and often times the out right ignorant, bias and ridiculous comments they make - but until they lost what can you do ? You can argue for entertainments sake, point out flaws or spelling errors but until the Dragons lose you just have to listen and then when they do lose all you will hear is - "that is our 2nd loss in 5a - I think we will be all right" -- "2nd loss in 4 years" blah blah blah blah

I guess I just don't buy into the 49-1 or 31-1 logic. If you wanted to go on that then no team has a streak that good would ever lose. As I said before, all THIS team has done is go 2-0. Will they go 10-0 on the regular season? Probably. Does that make a flying rip of a difference? No. SLC is good, I just don't think they are the best team in the state right now.

Fleeman - I guess I should say that fortunately Coach Dodge has instilled in the team that the only game that matters is the game tonight vs. Plano East. We've seen, and heard, him on a number of occasions say that they only focus on the team at hand. There is never a worry about going 16-0. They only have to go 1-0 each week. If they do that, then everything else falls in place.

that is regular season not total games. SLC also holds the regular season wins record at 72

Most of the SLC fans on this board are long time High School Football Fans. They are fans of ALL high school teams. The Dragons are hot right now and have a rich football tradition. So does several other teams! You can go back and look at posts from the Dragon Nation and see that there is a lot of respect for the teams that the Dragons have played. Lufkin, Katy, Smithson Valley, Abilene, Allen, Denton Ryan, Fossil Ridge, Plano East, Irving, Irving Mac, Midland Lee, Arlington Sam Houston, Arlington, Grapevine, Colleyville Heritage, Lewisville, Flower Mound, Halton, Richland, Lewisville, Marcus, The Colony, Keller, Coppell, etc.

Each game has had it's moment when it was it was in question or had a fortunate bounce, or a missed oppurtunity. Each game was played by dedicated kids and enjoyed by many fans. Respect have been given to the oppenets and earned by the Dragons.

And above all else, The kids get to play this great game. Some of the kids will become houshold names, while other will just become memories. Others will only be legends in thier own mind!

This board is not about Hateing , or Hatting anyone else it is about the passion of the fans for their programs. Every year there are two programs that have champions and many programs that have respect!

SLC gets plenty of respect on this board, in the state of Texas and nation wide. Most of us SLC fans have posted many great things regarding many other programs in the state.

and the compliments are appreciated here in LufkinThe Lufkin fans are some of the best on this board. If only two or three plays could have changed in the two SLC games it would have been Lufkin as the #1 team in Texas over the last 3 year period. The difference between the programs is very small if there is truly any difference at all.

.....and in Katy.Katy has a truly great football program. Most SLC folks would love to play the 2003 game over again and would love another game against Katy (that would mean both teams made it to the championship). A truly outstanding program.

I have a healthy dislike for slander. When generalities like this are made I just have to shake my head. Just root for your team and allow others to do the same. All the folks I know have a healthy respect for their opponents.
