Oh judson fans i heard today both kickers quit the team....Dustin Quinny (Qb who won us state in 02) his lil brother is going to be the new varsity kicker...hes a freshmen...Atleast he will be one of the best in state in 3 years :)

I am sure if Pville attempts to pass, it will be wide open for them. The Rockets will probably be loading up to stop Cobb. Judson's secondary looked like they were going all out for run support in last weeks game due to the huge game Buckram was having. I expect a similar scheme against Pville, with the exception that maybe we can tackle this week and not give up easy yards to set up those pass plays. As an OC you can do a lot of things on 2nd and short.

Don't hold your breath, Tex, about the Rockets not making the playoffs. They will be there. As for not covering the passes, that really boils down to one player who did not stay with his man--to-man coverage at least 3 completed CC passes. Miss two PAT's, which did contribute to the loss, and everybody starts saying the sky is falling. It's interesting that Judson loses a one point game to another ranked team, and many people are already closing the casket. "Heaven Can Wait"

Acctually holding CC to under 3=00 yards of offense speaks volumes about judsons defense... They are a good bunch, and our secondary gets better as the season goes on its not a easy posistion to play for those who think it is. Not to mention Pville has to play u s in our stadium i think it will be a good game. :)

Junkie- When is the right time to turn the ball over? Judson took advantage(to too much advantage) of Pflugervilles turnovers and beat a good team. I didnt think Judson played very well. What are you talking about? The story of Judson's life, you have to be crazy. I would say that in the past 20 + years Judson has had the better athletes than 95% of the teams they have played! How could they not have had the better athletes when they have at least twice as many kids enrolled as the average team they play? Think before you write!

And if you would do your homework a little better you would know that SV will remain 5a at least the next two years and you better hope that they get moved out of 26-5a because Wagner will have a major portion of the athletes you have right now. Yes, that's right, Judson will be playing on a level field starting next year with the rest of the 5a teams in the area (as far as numbers of kids to pick from). I'm not saying that Judson is finished, but simply that you will see the difference and so will everybody else. My advice; Judson better win another one this year, because it gets a hell of a lot more challenging to do from here on!!!! Seriously, think about it hard, it doesn't look so bright, now does it?

Yep 4A has teams that can smoke many 5A`s,like Boerne last night to Sandra Day O`connor.Lets see the first year we were in the MIGHTY 5A,Two teams the year before were in little o`le 4A played for the state championship.I`m sure we`ll keep playing Those Huge 5A`s,and beat em,when that happens.But....4A wont last ,Comal Co. is booming.because parents are moving out of the pit (city`s) for a better life,and hoping their kids can escape the pit of the urban life.

Mommy also used to say " the truth hurts"! If you check my past posts you'll see that I've have always back both SV and Judson, and still do. Look at the post that I responded to. Implacable is the one who spit on Clemens with his comment. Little sister? Were you at the game two years ago at Judson stadium? I seem to remember the stands were quiet and so were your players when little sister (2000 students at the time) put it all over big brother (4500 + students)!!! Like I said before, I have a deep respect for Judson's program, but not people like you who start the trash talk and don't like it when somebody fires back. Bottom line, BIG BROTHER will meet little sister in the first round and it will not be 31-0 this year!

One more thing to add. Maybe D W Rutledge is the wise man, even more than everybody knows. He left when the leaving was good - before the second JISD HS opened and the Rockets lost 1/2 of their talent pool!!!1

Lucci - give this person a break Clemens has played 3 very quality teams the past 3 weeks and they even threw in a small 4A team to play as well. I am sure they will make it to the playoffs but could be in a real dog fight in that very tough 25-5A district.

The only thing that really helps Judson is the outstanding program they've built....they also play as a team. A single transfer here and there is not gonna turn a team completely around...last time I checked there was more than one player on the team.

I am serously pissed off now. Just because we HAD 4500+ kids, It doesn't mean we have double the athletes of other schools. What does not having enough buses have ANYTHING to do with football. This big brother little sister crap needs to stop. Clemens and Judson are neighbors, and they are both good programs. People need to stop crying because we have so many kids, and just accept that they lost to us last year. And just because Kirby is going to Wagner DOES NOT MEAN that all our Talent is going to Wagner. The only reason anyone says that is because there are mostly minorities going to Wagner, and mostly caucasians going to Judson. This, once again, means nothing. There are athletes in every race, and race should not be a factor in whether someone is a good athlete or not. I went to Kirby, I played football for Kirby, and we were not the best. We didn't have 22 great athletes as starters. Woodlake Hills and Kitty Hawk were just as good as us, and it was always a shootout between all 3. Judson is NOT done, because it's not the athletes that make us good. It's our program and tradition. I have never had a problem with Clemens fans, and only a couple with SV fans. Most are great people though.

If you have 5000 students and half are female you still have 2500 to choose from so that is how enrollement matters. If you could read but I see that you can't you will see that I said you have more to choose from. I also said that just because you have more does not mean you will be better. The law of averages favors choosing from 5000 as opposed to choosing from 500 will get you more athletes.

Yes, you are exactly correct about the spanking Judson handed Clemens last year, as I have mentioned it in a couple of posts in the past. Last year is probably the weekest team that we have fielded in the past seven years. And yes again, we do have a better team this year, especially on defense. If the offense improves in the next seven weeks, we will be very good! And last if you don't know why I have posted on this thread, please go to page #2, post #22. I didn't ask implacable to start running his mouth. I have never said a bad word about Judson's program in the past and will always respect all that they have accomplished. Lucci - give this person a break Clemens has played 3 very quality teams the past 3 weeks and they even threw in a small 4A team to play as well. I am sure they will make it to the playoffs but could be in a real dog fight in that very tough 25-5A district.

We did not ask to be put into 25-5a. All we can do is play where the UIL sends us. As for the first three games this year, Roosevelt has done pretty good in their other two games and I don't know anybody who would want Waco's first three games! Clemens, Tyler Lee, and CC Calallen. I can't say much for Taylor because I don't know much about them. If you say they are a small 4a team I beleive you. But remember we are no giant with 1600 or so inrolled.

I don't know how we haven't shown we are good. We lost to #8 Copperas Cove 20-19. We beat Pflugerville 22-13. Smithson Valley gave up more points against Pflugerville than Judson did. Judson won by 9, Smithson Valley won by 7. I don't see any evidence in this that shows Judson to be "praying" to beat SV.

Since you couldn't leave well enough alone, here we go. A person very, very close to me taught at three different schools in the Judson district for a total of ten years. Before having any idea whether she would have a job for the next school year in another district, she did not renew her contract for the next school year at Judson. She did this because she could not stomache another year there. Every year out of the ten, without exception, they were short text books and had to make copies for many of the kids thru the whole school year. Now, how many 7th graders in the three middle schools (not Judson varsity players) do you think starter their first football practice without proper equipment? That's right, zero! As for breaking Henry in half, maybe, maybe not. The Judson D played a great game last year and like I said before, that was the weakest team that we have fielded in seven years. And the year before that on your playground when Henry was a sophomore, it looked more like the Rockets' defense only had about four guys on the field!! As for breaking Henry in half, maybe, maybe not. The Judson D played a great game last year and like I said before, that was the weakest team that we have fielded in seven years. And the year before that on your playground when Henry was a sophomore, it looked more like the Rockets' defense only had about four guys on the field!! Keep running your mouth dumb a--. If you are going to talk about past games at least have your facts straight! The score was 27-21 and Judson was up 21-7 in the first half. Tedtoatoa, I don't thinks so. Were you even there motor mouth? Henry had three TDs in the second half on 150 yards. We had the ball 1st and goal ready to score again when the clock ran out. And two of the three TDs that Judson got in the 1st half were set up on Clemens turnovers! Hell your players and fans did not even get excited with 6 minutes to go in the game when we missed the extra point that would have tied the game at 21 because we dominated your a-- so bad! If I remember correctly, and I know I do, Judson had 0 first downs and less then 10 yards in the second half. And to answer your question, no we did not win state that year, we lost to Katy in the state semis and they beat SLC for state the next week.

I don't think that Judson will kick our teeth out again, and neither does anyone else who knows HS football. Last year was the first time in five years that Judson actually won the game on the field. The previous four years when we were in 26-5a we gave Judson all they could handle and two of the three games that Judson won was because of missed extra points and stupid turnovers on Clemens part. I don't think you will come close to scoring 31 on our defense this year. We are not Laredo Nixon!

I wish I had the problems SOME of you do. I guess if your program has been a consistent winner over the long or short term these are the issues that come up (school size, socio-economic status, etc). I don't think you can look at HS football history and find where any of these things consistently contribute to success. What I know for sure is that in the 265…Judson is the big school to beat…SV is the small school to beat….

Read my post numb n--s. I never said that the enrollment numbers were the reason Judson has won all their titles or had such a remarkable program for the last 20+ years. All I said was that it was and is an advantage to have more athletes to choose from! And I also said that now they will not have that advantage starting next year. Let's just see how it affects them from year to year. There is no doubt in my mind that Judson will still be a great program and field great teams on some years, I just don't think that they will go the next 20+ years and only miss the playoffs 2 times again!

Spoken by a true Judson Rocket football player! Nothing but class. I'm sorry to you if anything I said has offended you or your team on this thread. The only reason I got started on this thread is because of post #22. I didn't ask for this Jacka-- to bring Clemens into his conversation. Your right, I do not play for Clemens but I used to. I played as a soph both ways win Judson's 83' team won it all. Let me tell you this, that was one great team with a bunch of good guys on it, Chris Pryor, JJ Lewis, etc, etc, etc. I have never done anything but support Judson in every playoff game they ever played because everytime they win one it just makes the whole area and 26-5a look that much better! You didnt miss much. Pville turned the ball over a few times early and Judson couldnt put it in the endzone. Pville has a good team and Judson is struggling with the new offense. Dropped passes..bad passes..no Kyle Fox. No Perez on the line( although I heard he would be back). Defensively..good athletes but not gelling yet. A week off and a game against Lee should have the Rockets ready for SV. If the dont get it going on offense we will understand the SV.."our offense was new" remark...(dont take offense..nothing is meant to insult or demean SV..their team or their fans)

Score really doesnt indicate how close the game was. Judson Kicking game was much better this week...and with Dubose out for a week..the secondary was a little off. But he will be back and ready to go in two weeks.

I've been thinking they aren't as good as they were last year, either. That might not be bad because playing through a bad game helps them down the line. Last year was probably too easy and it bit them in the semis. That 2002 team was on the brink of losing in several games, but never gave up. A good team does have the ability to win when not playing their best and I won't write the Rockets off.
