Texas Tech was the first to offer McGuffie a full ride. Many more schools to follow..should be interesting.

He's going to Michigan

The latest rivals.com article has Sam leaning towards Texas Tech at the moment, and that's coming straight from Sam's mouth.

Over the last 4 or 5 years I've learned to never trust anything I hear in regard to recruiting, even from the players themselves, until signing day. The whole process has become a bit of a circus lately.

That said, everything I've heard about McGuffie suggests he's got a good head on his shoulders and is the type that will make the best college decision for himself.

That's a lot of pressure for your friend. ;)

I'm mildly surprised McGuffie rides to school in a vehicle. I guess I figured he'd probably run and just jump over traffic. :)

I've heard from several reliable sources on more than a few occasions, that McGuffie runs several miles every morning before school.. most of which he runs on the rounded edge of the curb. If that's true, it sure would explain his unique ability to maintain balance.

Are you sure he has been "lasered" in the 4.2 range? I thought the time he ran a 4.29 was at the UTEP camp and it was a hand held time. I can buy a lasered 4.3 time for McGuffie, but I have a hard time believing he broke into the 4.2 range unless it was hand held.

Ummmmmm....how many damn times is someone gonna say someone else they know runs a 4.3 or a 4.2? Are you guys idiots? I heard Reggie McNeal ran a 4.39 at the combine, which was the fastest time at the combine. Mike Vick runs a HIGH 4.2...so...just think about that.

umm laser timing and hand held timing are two diffrent things now if he ran that time on a laser then it must've been broken that day

McGuffie is at best 5'9" and low 170s, with legit low 4.3 hand-timed and mid-high 4.3 laser-timed 40s.

Bobcat is correct on the size (5'10, 180+). I have that on the best authority possible. He runs like he's 20 pounds heavier.

rivals.com has posted that Mcguffie was offered by TAMU

Cypress Fairbanks coach Ed Pustejovsky played his collegiate ball at Texas A&M, so it's no surprise that his star running back's third offer has come from the Fighting Texas Aggies. Junior Sam McGuffie didn't know what to think when his coach asked to see him in his office upon entering athletic period this week.

I believe that to be a pretty credible source.

KT - if Sam is that big I'll sponsor your move to a dedicated server ... okay? I know the kid pretty darn well ... you also must believe the "hype" on Riley Dodge being 6'0 185 .. (when he measured 5'10"/154 at a camp in late summer) ...

Riley Dodge seems to be big enough for Boston College to take bigtime notice of him. I'm sure they will offer him soon.

I guess the Doug Flutie days are still alive at BC and Flutie is maybe, "MAYBE" (5-10) on tip-toes.

How many time have you stood face to face with the kid? Do you walk up to him and get a tape measurer out and see how tall he is? Im glad you know exactly how tall he is.

Thank you!! He plays a lot bigger. Talked to the Ft Bend Hightower defensive coordinator last week and he's seen some good ones. He say McGuffie is better. I trust his judgement. A few pounds or inches is not really a consideration.

I think people are afraid that somehow this will affect his recruitment which is totally false. If you look at the top 20 all-purpose backs coming out of Hs this year, there is only 2 players over 5 foot 10. Size is much more important in recruiting when it comes to QB's than at the running back position.
