Sports Illustrated has a good article this week on HS players relocating out of LA. Apparently Beaumont has gotten 3-4 top players. Coaches from Houston were reportedly working the phones hard. Evangel got a couple of good guys, but still lost to Springdale, AR 35-7.

Any word on the street of where the top players are going?

Hopefully, they will all get out of Louisiana. If they ever hope to make a living, they will have to. Also, if they kids wanna play ball and get noticed, they will pretty much need to get out of there as well. Unless they go to ECA, WM, JC, or ESJ they wont get the real attention. And really you can pretty much take out ECA and JC because they have been forced to play in 1A and 2A.

I havent been in touch with the rumor mill back in shreveport lately so I dont have much.

Yesterday, 2 bus loads of kids were dropped off to enroll at Dallas Carter.

First things first, it's good that they have a place to continue their education. Thats most important.

Now least importantly, if there are any athletes transferring in, unless they are "D1" good, their chances of getting varsity PT at Carter are pretty slim in Football and Basketball. They are loaded already in both sports. They have a lot of returning lettermen from last year in football and basketball(a team that played in the state semis) plus they received some kids from Wilmer-Hutchins plus a 2-sport(football/basketball) transfer from Seagoville(by the way who is a "D1" good DB).

As a coach, how do you try to be fair w/o messing up your chemistry?

You hit the nail on the head Stormin. -- that's what I said earlier. A guy better be all-world if he steps in and takes a starters place immediately - because that will mess with folks heads. Chemistry voodoo for sure.

The better thing to do would be to take them to some obscure little team that doesnt win more than a game or 2 every year. The people there would probably welcome them with open arms.

They also dropped off at Tyler John Tyler and but they were going to drop some off at Tyler Lee so they didn't. They begin to put them all at John Tyler.

Just heard on the radio here in Waco...that two tranfer players from Tulane will start for Baylor this weekend. One is a center...the other a defensive back...and guess what his name is?....Alton Wideman....

That is crazy..
That's my Dad's name...hahahahahaa
There aren't that many Alton's in the world...but even fewer Alton Wideman's...is that cool or what?

Your dad plays college ball?
Either he got a REALLY early start and your like 3 or he's uh... well. still in college...

Really though, that is kind of odd. With both those names you have to figure what are the chances...
Unless your dad was a love machine and has another son. You know, like a brotha-from-anotha-motha type thing...

If I did have a brother...he would be somewhere in Vietnam....I wouldn't doubt that at all.
