Moody from Coppell. I'm not going to go as far as saying he made alot of SLC players look silly (although this is what i've heard), but he did a very good job.

Dimitri Nance, Euless Trinity! :D He and fellow back Lederrick Handy are an absolute force in teh backfield!

Have to give Vondrell McGee (Longview) and Jason Williams (REL) some love. Those kids have been playing some tough solid football the first two weeks.

Sergio Kindle of Woodrow Wilson. Not only is he the best runningback, but he is the best linebacker too

Yeah Moody did embarass SLC in the 1st quarter. but that is it, he didn't do anything 2nd half. I haven't seen too many RB's yet this year, but Moody is deff. one of the best.

northshore is always going to metioned whenever running is the subject and since that is the topic allen simms is very good this year maybe not the # 1 back in the state but surely the top 5.

Go down a little, I watched the Canton story twice trying to figure out what you were talking about... Didnt see too much, but it looks like he can play both ways.

The kid Sergio is a freaking force to deal with. Dimitri Nance from Trinity is a close second but don't play defense. The other horse at Trinity Ladarrick Handy folks is just as good. Do you folks no any other team in Texas that is going to have a pair of 1000 plus rushers. From what I read here on the web most teams only have 1 horse. :)

Zippy,
Sorry about that, I should have specified he is under the player profile at the bottom of the page, that Canton story was good though now that you mention it - Unbelievable recovery by Coach Kinne!

2000 is normal for a good rb....2500 to 2700 is what the best rb's gain!! But then again Coppell's schedule is loaded, isn't? That might make for a more compelling argument. I love it when rb's gain alot of yards playing a tough schedule...it shows the quality of their play!! Gets them ready for the next level!! (College)

Alfred McDaniels- Converse Judson- 7 carries, 196 (around) yards, 3 TDs Week 0 vs Laredo Nixon. I don't know how he did vs. Copperas Cove, but I will try and find out.

Going just off of stats, here are a few that I would consider among the best...
Jerry Harper (Abilene Cooper) - 37 carries for 446 yards (12.1 ypc) and 3 TDs
Barron Batch (Midland) - 40 carries for 424 yards (10.6 ypc) and 5 TDs
Dimitri Nance (Euless Trinity) - 28 carries for 357 yards (12.8 ypc) and 6 TDs
Emmanulle Moody (Coppell) - 40 carries 332 yards (8.3 ypc) and 6 TDs
Sergio Kindle (Dallas Wilson)- 13 carries for 235 yards (18.1 ypc) and 6 TDs

To go primarily on numbers, lets be hypothetical...
Moody has 40 carries for just over 330 yards...and Kindle has 235 yards and just 13 carries...well if you tripled the number of carries Kindle has, to equal Moody, you could possibly triple the number of yards, which would give Kindle nearly 700 yards on 39 carries.
But then again Moody has faced stiffer opponents! So arguments can be made on both sides. :D

Coppell Cowboy what is Nance and Handy suppose to do pick out a bunch of 200 lb. kids for lineman. How long have you been around football???? Linemen make a running back are you jealous?? You are going to get a chance to see our show in a couple of weeks. Also did Moody import an offensive line from last year?? That severe but whoopin we gave yaw how many yards did he get? Also Desoto and Midland Lee are far more better that you have played. Good luck in a couple of weeks. :)

For all those who wish to compare their great running back(s) to Adrian Peterson, and what he's accomplished, just as a freshman in college, take look...
Junior - High School - Rushed for 2002 yds, 22 tds
Senior - High School - Rushed for 2960 yds, 32 tds
True Freshman - OU Rushed for 1925 yds, 15 tds
You'd be hard to find another RB who can, and/or who's done, that!!
Only time will tell!!

I take those HS numbers with a grain of salt..wasnt that at the 2A or 3A level? Not saying that is bad..but I've seen a guy put up 3,000 yds...moved to a 5A school the next year...and was lost in the mix. Their are some exceptions though.like Cliff Groce and Rodney Thomas...Eric Dickerson.

im with you Prophet---Hook'em!! just so everyone knows that im not always "leaning" towards my Lobos, i will have to say that the best runner i have seen so far is jason Williams(Tyler Lee)......only wish that he would follow suit and wear the burnt orange--LOL......but, with the backs that Texas has coming in and the one's that are already there, looks like McGee may become a defensive back, or that's what i heard-----i don't believe it, though---Vondrell is one hell of a running back...he will definitely shake you out of your socks!

Is it true that out of the Top 5 Backs in Texas history..Benson was the only one who played 5A ball and the only one who didnt play 4 years of varsity? If so....that makes his accomplishments that much better in my opinion.

Well Adrian's career isn't over at OU. And, BTW, Adrian had a far greater true freshman season than any other running back in BIG TIME college football history...and that's including Cedric Benson...and he was from a little 2A or 3A school...wow, what does that say about 5A or 4A running backs.......absolutely nothing!
From experience I learned it's about how well you adapt to the BIG TIME atmosphere...and Adrian adapted better than any RB in history. And he's from some little high school called Palestine....Wow!...now there's an accomplishment.
He could of out rushed any RB on any level, at any school! He's one in a million...Cedric is not. (Cedric had a nice career in HS, but I've seen, played against and played with far better RB's!)

The best one that we won't get to see anymore was Matt Dornak of Westlake. He was in line to have a big year.
How about Amadeus Waters of Hays Cons.?

Petersen was on a great team last year the same way Clarrett was his freshman year...they already had a gun....he was just another bullett in the chamber...now lets see if he can BE the gun. So I'm not gonna base his greatness on his freshman season. All I'm saying is that you can problay take a 800 yd rusher from a 5A team and he can become a 2000 yd rusher in 3A or 2A. Benson had what? 3 state titles? Take him out, does Lee still get those titles? NO. I've seen some great backs and I've seen GOOD backs on great teams....there is a difference.

thats my point, Coppell has very small linemen, in fact coppell doesnt have the a very good Offensiveline, yet moody is right next to Nance stats wise...Are smallest starter weighs about 175lbs, our biggest around 250lbs...at euless they all weigh over 250lbs.
I think we are better then Midland Lee, are at least could make a good game out of it. there is two returning starts on the O-Line
and theres no need, to talk smack, im not talking smack about y'all...I know Coppell will lose that game, ive even said you guys will go 15-0 winning the DI state championship

Nance has played only 4 and 1half quarters in the 2 games we have played. Also Handy is in the same boat. How many quarters has Moody played??? The sophmores at Trinity have played as much as Nance and Handy. Moody won't last long without a line. Ask any good back and the line always gets the credit. :)

Moody has play for 6 qauters outta 8...Moody doesnt have a line...he didnt have a line last year (trust me i was on the line last year), and this year he doesnt have a great line, thats what makes him so great, if he can run for 1,500 yards last year with a horrible line, think what he can do with an okay line, or a great line like Euless Trinity's line...he could have rushed for 2,000+

There's another RB in 6-5A that's getting seriously overshadowed. David Watkins is putting up great numbers so far this season (46 carr. 446 yd 4TD) and has led his Irving Nimitz team to a nice 2-0 start. Last year, Watkins had 1400 yards and 12 TD's.
The RB talent in that district is just sick:
Trinity - Nance and Handy
Irving - Jamaal Evans
Coppell - Emmanuel Moody
Nimitz - David Watkins
SGP - Melvin Stephenson
