That Riser kid can MOVE...seems like every catch is a TD.

This is Risers year. Don't know if he is the best but I do know he has exceptional speed. If he gets open he can't be caught. What's great about him is that he has been on the varsity since his soph year and was on the '03 title team. I look for good things from him and Cain this season.

by my reasonably uninformed opinion based on the ones we saw last year, i'd say bryant from lufkin, the kid from haltom, the irving wr, jacobsen and renfro were the best. you could put some numbers up with them spread across the field.

All good choices..along with Leong from Abilene. They are all game changers.

Dez Bryant from Lufkin is only a junior but he will probably be one of the top recruits in the nation next year. He is the real deal. He has all the physical tools a wr could want. His potential is enormous!! Shankle has speed to burn and has offers from all over the country. He has cut it down to LSU A&M and OU. He said where ever he goes Hewitt will go because they have an agreement.
Jacobson, Payne, Renfro, and Drabek are a few others that are tremendous. I have seen all of them play but one.

Dez Bryant is a beast and his biggest upside he is still growing. And Renfro he is a real game breaker these twp are at the top of my list.

One guy nobody has mentioned because this is his first year of varsity is Corbin Smiter of Carroll high school. Jacobsen and Renfro may be better but I definetely feel that he is one of the best in the metroplex along with the Irving receiver and haltom's wideout

Corbin is one of the best in the area. I wouldn't go as far as to say he is the best in 5A YET though. He will be by the end of the year.
I'm not one to get here & boast about players, but Dez Bryant has everything you could look for in a WR. Size, speed & hands. I saw this young man up close in last weeks game. This kid looks like a freak. He looks like he has grown 2 inches & gained 15+lbs since last year.

at least a top 10, Cody Beyer. He can run, catch, and throw. A&M is lucky to have him.

i should have been more specific in my statement riser is for sure in the top 5 in the state and i think yes this is his year. i also think that if the coaching staff has a average year on the sideline we will be talking about ns winning a second state title. providing of course they don't have a meltdown in the playoffs that is.

Rod Harris Jr. 13-5A Bryan High, 50+ catches last season on a 6-5 squad. This year the teams starting QB went down in 1st game so they haven't played much air-ball yet.
Good bloodlines too - Dad Rod Harris Sr. WR @ TAMU, NFL Cowboys,Eagles,Broncos
Uncle Darren Lewis - RB @ TAMU, NFL Bears
I know that there are a lot of others out there but he is the best reciever in our district.

If you look at the top list of bluechippers for 2006 and 2007, you'll see the name of Detron Lewis from Consol show up in the top 10 for 2007. that's top 10 overall bluechips for this years junior class.

Senior.
I honestly think by the time this season is done, he will be one of the best in the state. He still has alot to prove, but he deff. has the talent. This has some sickkk skills. And he can flo real good.

corbin is a true late bloomer. in the nike sparc camps, he was one of the highest scoring players in the state. he has always had great potential. it seems he has finally decided to do something about it. he has and will continue to overmatch cornerbacks all year long.

Perfectly said. Anytime one of your strongest players is an athletic WR, you know that he is good.
