Based on how the season was finished, I say TCU is the best team in Texas. UT seems to have no heart, Texas A&M was embarrassed in the Holiday Bowl and the rest are the rest.

Blinn JC is the best college team in Texas, as they are the only one to have won a National Championship as well as had a Coach Fran at the helm to boot.

On a serious note, I stand by my claim.
UT = no heart, lost 2 in a row, lost at home to mediocre A&M
TCU and Texas A&M common opponents:
@Texas A&M 28, Army 24 - A&M gets lucky at the end
@Texas A&M 24, Texas Tech 31
@Baylor 21, Texas A&M 31
@Baylor 7, TCU 17
@TCU 12, Texas Tech 3
@Army 17, TCU 31
TCU beats Tech
etc.

That just killed your whole argument dude.
With 10 minutes left in the game it was TCU-10 Baylor-7.
Texas would absolutely destroy TCU...and if the right Aggie team showed up...I believe they would too.
Not sure where this no heart crap is coming from...Texas should tremendous heart several times this season.
Look at the loss to KState...considering they had a true freshman come off the bench at QB...that wasn't exactly a butt-whippin'. And the aggy game?...well let's not even get into that.

Well it was the 1st game of the year, road game, 1st half we were playing a hurt QB, he finally takes himself out and in the 2nd half we put in our frosh and he helped complete the victory. Trust me, I know, I was on the sidelines
I can't believe people are honestly arguing for TCU. We are talking about football right? Not ping pong?

Well, one thing's for sure. You ain't ever going to see Texas schedule TCU to prove this one on the field. It'll have to be some kind of accidental meeting at a bowl game.

as of right now i would have to say TCU is the best team in texas, they shut down the NCAA leading rusher to 28? yards, and their offense is fast striking air or ground. ive been to every TCU home game and i have to say they are a much different team since their loss to byu. But if you get a different QB that can run and not make stupid throws in texas's offense they would have a slight edge but with mccoy they loose.

First off TCU wasn't the first team to shut down Garrett Wolfe...try the 5th. Western Michigan shut him down to 25 yards, Temple 45, Iowa 84, Toledo 54, and then TCU with 28 yards.
TCU hasn't played a mediocre team all season, much less a good team. In fact they rank 161st in strength of schedule which is absolutely pathetic. They had trouble beating the likes of Baylor and a very bad Texas Tech team. Then they manages to lose to Utah( what a pwerhouse) and BYU( another powerhouse).
Texas would pound TCU into a horrid obvlivion with quon cosby at their qb. If Colt McCoy was playing, you know the one who set a freshman record for tds, it would be even worse. I don't understand why all you idiots think McCoy sucks all of a sudden just because of an injury.
As for TCU's 'fast striking offense' I have to say this...who's offense isn't fast striking when you play 5 teams with winning records. God I wonder if all TCU fans are like this. In that case I can't wait until next season.

look ive been a texas fan since birth, im not throwing texas under the wagon or anything but the way they have been playing lately and the way TCU has been playing, i would have to take TCU. For Colt McCoy throwing the record TD passes thats all he can do is throw and when the pressure is on hes not that great, yes hes good for a redshirted freshman, but not good enough to win a national champoinship with. Colt McCoy has in my opinion gone up agaisnt 4 backfields that can make plays, Ohio State, Oklahoma, TT, and A&M. Not saying that the other teams has just horrific backfields those are the 4 that stand out when you look at UT's schedule. And i understand that hes no vince young, no one is but when you come out and say he set a record for TD passes thats not saying much considering when he has done them. I havent liked Colt McCoy since i drove to austin to watch the UNT game, i just dont like the game he brings and the one dimensional team UT has become. Yes they have a very good rush offense but, with McCoy back there its just one dimensional. I know UT will become a huge powerhouse in a year or two with all the huge recruits they just got and i dont think TCU got that many so i know texas will overall be better but as of right now i would take TCU .

:confused: Is this a joke? Where do people come up with this stuff? He lost to the #1 team in the country (in his second college start) with his receivers dropping way too many passes and defense playing like crap. Got hurt against KSU. And lost to Aggy in a game he probably shouldn't have played in, he was obviously still hurt.
Did you happen to see the Tech game? He brought UT back from 21 down on the road, and he sealed the game with a 21-yard RUN!! When it comes to rushing the ball he ain't no VY -- who is? -- But Colt does have good mobility.
Honestly, how many UT fans out there felt that VY was going to single-handedly carry Texas to a national championship after his freshman year? Not me

good point, but i guess after you win a national championship and you have a fair amount of returning starters and then you get this redshirted freshman its just kind of like uh. and its not just him when you have a backup that takes maybe 10% of snaps in practice, when your star redshirted fish gets hurt, your pretty much screwed.( k state game) maybe its just me but i would rather have a QB that can run yea yea colt is mobile but i am talking about running like young did and vick does and can also throw good just like young and vick. you may say oh vick he cant throw yes he can his recievers are crap but thats another story. I just dont feel confident when your Qb is a little mobile and just sits there and throws it makes you so much more one dimensional. i know texas nor any other college may see a QB like V.Y. with the exception of chiles, a newcomer next year but a more mobile QB who can throw too in my book is much better. and i just dont see that in colt. will texas be succesful with colt? i dont know, if he keeps this up i doubt it but if texas switches QB's maybe in the next year or year after i think with the recruits they get it is highly possible for another championship.

I'm sorry, no wait I'm not, that is the dumbest thing I have ever read. All McCoy can do is throw? Uh yeah no **** he is a quarterback what did you expect him to do...long snap? He set a freshman single season touchdown record and did it in 11 games. Compare his numbers to Troy Smith and they stack up mighty well. The only time you saw Colt play was against UNT, where he went 12 for 19 with 3 tds(no int's)...it also just happened to be his first collegiate start ever.
UT averages 223 passing yards per game and 170 rushing. Please tell me how that is unbalanced...and while you are busy with that explain to me how McCoy causes it to become unbalanced.

no ive watched almost everygame start to finish, and lets just see how his numbers stack up to troy smith. (without UT's bowl game)
Colt- 292 attempts,191 completions,65.4 completion%,2262 yds, 27 TD's, 12.2 yds/att, and rushing- 66rushes, 167 yds, 2.5 yds/carry
Troy Smith- 297 attempts, 199 completions, 66.8 completion%, 2507 yards, 30 TD's, 12.7 yards/attempt(and he threw 4 agaisnt michigan and 4 agaisnt iowa, where colt only threw 2 agaisnt them)
Rushing- 62 rushes, 233 yards, 3.8 yards/carry
but now lets look at someone like pat white from west virginia who can run and throw
Pat White- 164 attempts, 109 completions 66.5 completion%, 1524 yards, 11TD's, 9.3 yards/attempt
Rushing- 143 rushes, 1074 yards, 17 TD's and 7.5 yards/carry
I know west virginia doesnt have a tough schedule, but neither does UT can someone show me where it says UT has the 9th toughest schedule because that is a can of crap. Take any decent SEC team and tell me UT has a tougher schedule than them. The only good teams UT has played this year are OU, OSU, and i dont consider a&m one nor TT because they both arent very good look at a&m's bowl. ill just take florida for instance, they had to play LSU, Auburn, Arkansas, South Carolina, Tennesssee, Georgia. UT has a easy schedule.
i dont think i ever said the words unbalanced i said one dimensional which can mean many things. the way i used it was that defenses dont have to worry about colt running it they just have to worry about his passing. yes UT has a great running core and defenses do have to worry about that but im just talking about colt. not many QB's can run and throw, its usually one or the other. and when i was watching all of yesterdays game i saw many plays when he was just looking at one receiver when he had a running back wide open on a little screen but he tried to put it in a spot that not many people can do unless your brett favre or peyton manning. will he be great one day maybe but he still has ALOT i mean ALOT to learn. and stop saying oh he set the single season record blah blah tell me something else he has done.

Where are you getting your facts from, there aren't even 161 teams in division 1.
Why compare the first game of the year against Baylor? We didn't even have our starting QB healthy for the game. The team showed improvement over the season, and we didn't have to rely on a comeback against Texas Tech, we dominated them all game.

Well if you take into account Div I and Div II TCU has the 161st toughest schedule in the nation. If you take into account Div I only TCU is 100th(there is only 119 Div I teams). That means there are about 45 Div II teams that have a tougher time that TCU does. Here's a link because you obviously don't want to take the time to find the facts yourself.
http://web1.ncaa.org/d1mfb/2006/Internet/toughest%20schedule/tough.html
You scored 4 field goals on Texas Tech and zero touchdowns. One field goal came off a turnover so you realy only had 3 scoring drives to their one. That isn't domination in any book.
