Neither is Riley, who just got National Player of the Year in one poll.
Alot of good players at this level, and it always comes down to a beauty contest.

Mark it down watch out next year for Trinity's 6-7 328 DT Robert Griffin. He was an alternate starter on one of the best D-lines in the state. Him and All-Junior team DL Mao Leota should keep up the status quo for next year.

Jacques Caldwell from Garland, Wr,RB,DB, will be one of the fastest, if not the fastest player in the state. As a soph he ran a 21.08 200 meter, and came in 2nd at the state meet, .13 behind the winner. He also ran the final leg of the 4x100 meter relay, that came in avery close 2nd at the state meet. I expect he will get his hands on the ball a bunch next fall:eek:

Let me add a homer post to this list. I know Tyler Lee has several young O-linemen that will be pretty good. Also look for Jamaal Mitchell at RB. He has been on varsity the last 2 years and is a really hard runner with pretty good speed. I look for him to continue the tradition of great RB's at Tyler Lee.

Well, here is another homer post. JT is very deep in rbs for the next couple years and beyond. Junior Romonte Hampton was JT's fullback this year and got alot of playing time in '06 and will be one of the top RBs in east texas and 12-5A in 07. Junior LB Derrick Choice, JR CB Jeremy Johnson, JR DT Adren Dorsey, and JR DB Brandon Norman will lead a very much improved defense in '07. JT was very young on D in 06 and will have alot of experience in 07. JT might have the best D in 12-5a next year. A couple more players to look are sophmores RB Charlie Jackson and OL Sydney Terrel. These 2 will contribute alot to next year as will a good number of sophmores. JT will be real young on offense and that will a real problem in the beginning but they have a good defense to help them out alot to they get their feet wet. JT has alot of potential in the 10th and 11th grades.

Both kids will be at the top of national recruiting before it is over with.

What a difference a year makes, huh? This same group that took their lumps together then gelled close to the end of the season, will be the same group handing out lumps this upcoming season. It'll be lead by Dorsey, he's big time D-1 material. It'll be strong up the middle with Choice at lb and Brooks at safety. I really like Hampton at tailback too..I think K. Hunter kinda started believing the hype close to the end of the year. It always seems that juniors lay it out on the line a lil more than seniors sometimes. Hampton ran with heart and let's not forget....speed  . We'll just have to replace our qb. We've gotta get more bodies though. We're about another year or so away from being the beast from the east again lol.

Well I have good news on the numbers situation at JT. They will have around 145 players between the 9th and 11th grades. That means JT could suit up to 70 players on varsity and JV each. If the qb situation is competent and consistent and the young o-line gel, this will be a very dangerous team in 12-5A and this region period. This team reminds me of the '06 REL team alot on paper. Spring will tell alot.

Everyone should keep their eye on Abilene High's sophmore linebacker Chris Williams too. 6'1'', 215 and runs a 4.6. This guy is an animal. First team all district his junior year and it only looks like he will get better. While only 15 years old and doing all of that, he seems to be pretty promising.

You McGuffie worshippers amuse me. He is a phenomenal player, there is no doubt about that. To add, there is no player I would rather have on my team. I love the game the kid has and I am looking forward to see him next year. However, the fact most of you "McGuffists" have a fit of jealousy whenever someone even mentions another great high school football player is just too much. There are many awesome players out there, and McGuffie is definatley one of them.

I think Klein Oak has a great athlete in DeSean Hales. Not to mention another one beside him Ossam Cook who will be a D1 recruit as well. DeSean needs to be on this list. His 96yd PR vs Garland was electric and amazing all in one. He will be a stud at the next level. DeSean can play any position on the field and a track star as well.

Mark Ellis
Wide Receiver
Houston (TX) Willowridge / great hands in a crowd
Royce Hill
Cornerback
Houston (TX) Cypress Ridge / reads quick and closes
Leonard James
Strongside DE
Missouri City (TX) Fort Bend Marshall / our real deal when head is right
Jeff McVaney
Inside linebacker
Houston (TX) Strake Jesuit / does it all, game video of him scary good, watched some with Cy school coach, killed us last year
Kenneth Frankson
Defensive tackle
Houston (TX) Yates / nothing but upside if he works, very agile and runs well at close to 300lbs

We're about another year or so away from being the beast from the east again lol.
yall are gonna have some great group of backs probobly the best group since 94'. yall have a back that played jv last year who i think is gonna be a star. i cant remember his name. he is dangerous.

Big Red Cujo, his name is Charlie Jackson and he also goes by the name CJACK. Yep this kid is INTERESTING. He is going to be a GOOD player for JT in the future. Romonte Hampton will be the starting rb this year for JT but Jackson will be used alot as well. Jackson went to REL his freshman year but transfered to JT in the fall of 2006. Can't believe Owens let him get away LOL:D .

Sam McGuffie of Cy-Fair picked up offers from OU, Michigan and Georgia Tech this weekend. So if I am keeping track correctly, he has offers from the three schools above as well as Kansas, Texas Tech and Texas A&M. Not too shabby.

You guys are still sleeping on Dominick Maddox @ Converse Judson playing at the safety position. He was in the Top 25 of ALL athletes at this years Army All-American Combine last month which had over 500 players there. Mark my word, if you guys, Judson or any other voters for top players miss this one, I betcha the college scouts won't. You can find him on rivals.com after just one combine. The best is still yet to come and be seen.

watch out for tyler lee's jr qb doug frankiln. he is listed as the back up right now to senior brandon rogers. but i think doug franklin will eventually win the qb job before disrict. they say rogers have come a long way. we have to see. if so then we have 2 good qb's in 07.

It's a good list, but I have been following a kid out of the little town Van Texas, Jermie Calhoun. He's already committed to Oklahoma with a solid verbal. This guy has been able to catch the eye of many scouts despite coming out of a fairly small school, he has started at running back since his sophomore year, and he's had back to back 20 touchdown seasons and 1500+ yards rushing, he should be on this list also. The school doesn't run as much as you'd think and he is still putting up numbers like that, it's amazing to me. At least an honorable mention is due.

These 4 must be on any list in my opinion:
Was this guy (#55) by chance? I don't have a program on Jesuit

Someone to add to that list is DT Justin Williams. He will be a senior next year at SGP. A huge force, and one of the few returning starters on defense. This will be his 3rd varsity year. He's 6 foot 275lbs. and has the option of Baylor, Iowa, Oklahoma, Purdue, and Texas A&M. He has not committed to any of them yet.
In case any of you remember a Free Safety from a couple years ago named Malcome Williams, who was district 6-5A defensive player of the year in 2005. He was the reason SGP beat ET and Denton Ryan in 2005. He was a RB/S, and against ET he put up the best game I ever saw him play. Rushing for over 240 yards, and pushing the pile for 5 more yards everytime they gang tackled him. And you guys know how big the ET players are. You Trojan fans know what I'm talking about with this guy. He was considered one of the best safeties in the state acording to scouts.com. Anyways, with all that said, Justin Williams is his younger brother, and is just as big of a threat at the DT position as Malcome was at his positions. Justin set a school record on the bench press, benching an astonishing 420lbs 5 times (dont quote me on that, but I know I'm within 10lbs of it, just can't remember the exact number he benched. I'll try to research that and update it).

QB David Camacho from Odessa High.
Last year he passed for 1,582 yards and 17 TD's and he ran for 872 yards and 8 TD's. In district play he averaged 197 yards passing and 130 yards rushing per game. He was 1st team all district.

Since I only see one entry from Katy, I have to become a homer on some obvious omissions.
QB - Bo Levi Mitchell
DB's - Trent Hunter, Terrance Henry
OL - Eric Ball
LB - Blaine Adkins
A lot of people other than homers have Katy going to state this year, so I think they need a little more recognition for the talent and team they have coming back.

Lufkin's Jamarcus McFarland (6'4 275) should and probably will be ranked as the top dt in the nation as a junior and senior by most that I have talked to including several of the LP coaches who are friends. He is a straight A student by the way. He is a beast!
