I can almost see the Texas/Texas A&M thread busting at the seams on this one.

Yeah aggy is just about as irrelevant as the Texans...so I can see how you would come to that conclusion.

Yeah aggy is just about as irrelevant as the Texans...so I can see how you would come to that conclusion.

But, there was a point in time, especially in the Eastern part of the state, that the Texans were NOT irrelevant. Bout the time that a Stadium needed to be built, to replace the 8th wonder of the world, the beloved Astrodome.

The parallel is remarkable though. I mean, Let's (in this case, Houston) build a Stadium. Let's make it nice. The biggest in the land. Whew! Look at our stadium. And man, is it nice.

Oh no, Suddenly poor Cowboy can't compete. We had (Dallas) build a better stadium, to generate more revenue. I know, let's get the taxpayers/tourists/others to pay for it! Yea.

Looks like a nice one. 650 Million is the last figure I heard. Anybody heard more than that?

Last I heard, DKR Memorial (or whatever it is called today) is up for a 176 Million dollar upgrade. Bout dang time. Those endzone seats on the North end were in another Zip Code! BUT, that figure also includes the GODZILLATRON.

JerryWorld is at over 1.1 billion right now.

And the North end zone at DKR is no longer that way. They are hard at work adding the horseshoe as we speak. There is a live cam on the net...but you can't really see much at this point.

I almost forgot to post my pic of Kyle Field....

I would have like to have been the lady that got, what was it, $3M for her residence and land, worth about $300,000?? Still don't see how that happened. They relocated a ton of folks for this - I think the final relo. cost was 5 or 6 times the projected cost.

Wow um....whats the word I'm looking for....uh..... uhh..... ridiculous?? yup
1.1 billion

What idiot tax payer in dallas votes to GIVE Jerry Jones this ridiculous stadium? Not only are they donating their hard earned money to fund this over-the-top ridiculous stadium but Jerry Jones will see ALL THE PROFITS as well. Another reason I'm so glad I live in Austin where we continually vote down sports teams.

I think this is ridiculous AND I'M A DALLAS FAN. A BIG DALLAS FAN.

Also what the hell...fewer restrooms and elevators/escalators from Texas Stadium? They increase the capacity to 80,000+ but decrease the number of elevators/escalators and restrooms? Uhhh I would have thought that when you add 30,000 people you INCREASE the number of elevators/escalators and restrooms.

Hookem...you don't happen to own a Cowboys cap, shirt, coffee mug, bumper sticker, sweatshirt, beach towel, commemorative condom,Julius Jones bobblehead, or official Cowboys Monopoly game do you???

Wonder where that money went??:D

Arlington taxpayers are only paying for around 350 million of this stadium. The rest is coming out of Jerry's pockets or those 'donations' from others.

So its not like all of the bill is resting on taxpayers shoulders.

Well if I buy directly from the Dallas Cowboys pro shop then a small portion will go directly to Jerry Jones. Since I buy from retailers and the NFL shop Jerry Jones gets a miniscual amount of it. Besides I have spent maybe 500 on Dallas apparel in my life which about .01% of went to Jones. The difference here is the 1.2 million tax payers in Dallas are GIVING Jones $916 a piece on something less than a quarter of which will enjoy.

It pissess me off when owners take a city hostage, they should fund their own stadium.

how do they hold them hostage?

it is simple business, and the NFL isn't the only entity engaged in" what will you do to keep me here."
