In their first game of the season in the new offense -- and after running the option for the past five years -- Mauro was the #2 QB in the DFW metroplex in week one amassing 360 yards passing on 20/33 with a total of 6 tds -- 4 passing -- 2 rushing -- 1 int --

Congrats to Coach Olivo, LD Bell offensive line, receivers/backs and Bell QB Joe Mauro...

I think Mauro is primed for a big season. Thank goodness he gets a chance to show his talent in Coach Olivo's system!

His only interception was on the last play of the first half, a hail mary from the 45 yard line into the end zone, the Bowie defense won the vertical jump contest between 3 of them and 2 of us and was tackled in the end zone.

The defense alsd did some very good things in the Bowie game -- I expect the combination of experience that they will get from week to week and their athleticism to be a factor by the time Bell starts district -- and I expect a big defensive effort this week against North Mesquite --

At least 3 times, our corners thought it was cover two when it was really man coverage and the safety spies, so it would lead to a wide open Volunteer down the sideline. I'm sure that can be fixed...

BHS06 Do you play? Im thinking about going to an LD Bell game this year during one of our away games or during our bye week next week. Whats your number so I can comment about how you play :p jk

Yes I play, you guys have an off week in Week 3 when we play in Flower Mound which is close to Coppell, also Week 8 we have you guys at Pennington I'm sure you will attend. I'll private message you my info because I don't want people from my own team to find out who I am.
